Platinum Communications Corp announced that it has been unable to reach an agreement on satisfactory commercial terms with 1574002 Alberta Ltd. o/a XpanServ, a Wireless Internet Services Provider (WISP), and will not be proceeding with the previously announced acquisition of XpanServ's assets and customers. Platinum Communications Corp Completes Community Networks Acquisition
Platinum Communications Corp announced that it has completed a term loan financing of $2,000,000 at 12% from a private lender as well as the acquisition of Community Networks Ltd., o/a eFirehose, a regional Wireless Internet Services Provider (WISP) operating primarily in the North and East of Calgary, for $2,500,000. The acquisition of eFirehose strategically expands Platinum's reach to Balzac, Beiseker, Cheadle, Chestermere, Conrich, Dalemead, Delacour, Dewinton, Irricana, Langdon and Rockyford amongst others, as it boosts its subscriber base to 13,000. Platinum Communications Corp To Acquire Community Networks-Canada Stockwatch News
Canada Stockwatch News reported that Platinum Communications Corp. has entered into a letter of intent to acquire Community Networks Inc., a fixed wireless Internet services provider adjacent to and complementing Platinum's fixed wireless network covering the communities of Airdrie, Beiseker, Rockyford, Irricana and Strathmore, amongst others. This acquisition, which is subject to the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange and the negotiation of a formal agreement, is expected to close within the next 120 days.
