Peab AB Receives New Contract to Expand Railway at Malarbanan
Peab AB announced that it has been contracted to build the railway line between Barkarby and Kallhall in the Malarbanan project. This is the first stage of the expansion between Tomteboda and Kallhall in northwestern Stockholm. The work will be done in close collaboration with the Swedish Transport Administration and the project engineer Vectura. The client is the Swedish Transport Administration and the order value amounts to SEK 1.18 billion. On the eight-kilometer route will the Company perform soil and track work for four new tracks, widening of existing railway bridges, cable diversions, retaining walls and more. Work will begin in spring 2013 and is scheduled for completion in 2016. The Malarbanan railway goes north of Lake Malaren from Stockholm via Vasteras to Orebro.
