Shell resumes production at Brutus field in U.S. Gulf of Mexico

Royal Dutch Shell on Sunday resumed production at its offshore Brutus field after a leak on a flow line at the Glider field released 2,100 barrels of oil into the U.S. Gulf of Mexico and forced the company to shut all wells to the platform. : Shell has received approval from the U.S. Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) to begin repairs at Glider, the company said in a notice . Glider and other subsea tieback fields remain shut, Shell said . Royal Dutch Shell PLC:Shell has started discussions with employees in Australia about job reductions, the company said on Wednesday, as part of plans to cut 10,300 jobs worldwide to lower costs. - RTRS."Shell last week commenced conversations with employees about business efficiency and staffing levels – as a result of combining it with the previously BG-owned QGC – a process that will lead to job reductions," a spokesman said.Shell is in the process of integrating assets it acquired as part of its $50 billion takeover of gas producer BG Group, including BG's Australian subsidiary QGC. The integration of BG will lead to 2,800 job losses, Shell has said.This week, Shell announced the closure of BG's British headquarters by the end of the year and the start of a voluntary redundancy programme for staff in Britain.  Full Article

Royal Dutch Shell PLC:Royal Dutch Shell will close the head office of BG Group, the gas producer it agreed to acquire for $50 billion in February, by the end of the year, it said on Monday - RTRS.The oil major will offer voluntary redundancy packages to staff at the BG headquarters in Reading, near London, and has opened all internal Shell vacancies to BG employees, it said.Shell also said it would close BG's Aberdeen office to focus onshore operations in the Scottish oil town at its own site.Shell will also close its Brabazon House office in Manchester by the end of 2017, it said.Shell said in December that it expected to cut around 2,800 roles globally across the combined group, or approximately 3 percent of the total workforce.  Full Article

Royal Dutch Shell Plc:Bulgaria's anti-monopoly watchdog said it had raided the offices of Eco Petroleum, part of Hellenic Petroleum, and Shell Bulgaria, owned by Royal Dutch Shell, in an investigation into possible cartel agreements - RTRS.Bulgarians complain of high fuel costs despite a plunge in global oil prices and a call by Prime Minister Boiko Borisov for the competition authority to speed up checks on the fuel sector."Employees of the Commission for Protection of Competition are carrying out surprise checks on site at the offices of Eco Bulgaria and Shell Bulgaria," the commission said in a statement on Friday.Eco and Shell both confirmed in separate statements that checks were being made place at their offices and said they were fully cooperating, but denied any wrongdoing.Eco Petroleum said the only reason it was included in the probe was that it is Bulgaria's fourth biggest fuel retailer.The companies being investigated are all members of the Bulgarian Petrol and Gas Association, which has said there are no cartel agreements between any of its members.The latest raids follow others earlier this month on the Bulgarian offices of Russia's Lukoil LKOH.MM and Romania's Rompetrol RORRC.BX.It has also launched a probe into the Lukoil Neftochim Burgas oil refinery over possible breaches of competition rules related to the sale of its fuels on the local market.  Full Article
