RealD Inc and France's exhibitor, Les Cinémas Gaumont Pathé, announced a multi-year extension to their 3D cinema deal under which RealD has been named the exclusive circuit wide 3D cinema technology provider. The new agreement increases the number of screens to be equipped with RealD 3D to up to 600 and calls for only RealD 3D technology to be utilized at current and future Les Cinémas Gaumont Pathé locations. RealD and Les Cinémas Gaumont Pathé signed their initial agreement in 2009 and Les Cinémas Gaumont Pathé currently has approximately 500 screens equipped with RealD 3D across theaters in France, The Netherlands and Switzerland.  Full Article

RealD Inc and Mei Ah Entertainment Group Limited Announce Agreement for 3D Cinema

RealD Inc and Mei Ah Entertainment Group Limited (MAEG), a Chinese-language film producer and distributor in the region, announced today an agreement to install RealD 3D technology on one hundred screens across the MAEG circuit in China. The deal is part of MAEG's overall efforts to expand within the Chinese theatrical market with fifty new cinemas and five hundred screens over the next five years. The first MAEG cinema has already opened in Tinjian and will be followed by openings in Yangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu and more. With this latest agreement, RealD technology is now available on approximately 460 cinema screens in China with future commitments totaling 1,200 screens.  Full Article

RealD Inc And SAGA Sign Agreement To Expand 3D Cinema In China

RealD Inc announced an agreement to equip 100 auditoriums across the SAGA circuit with RealD 3D technology. Installations have already begun with plans to install RealD 3D technology at all current SAGA theatre locations. SAGA also intends to install RealD 3D technology at its future theatre locations and has announced plans to open 20 theatres around the ountry within three years.  Full Article
