Interfax reported that The Gubkinsky district court in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District has ordered the shutdown of 43 wells belonging to NK Rosneft' OAO's subsidiary LLC RN Purneftegaz that were put into operation without permits, the regional prosecutor's press service said. In the course of an inspection, the prosecutor's office found that the company was operating wells at a number of fields in Yamalo-Nenets without having permits to put them into operation. Five administrative cases were launched against the company and the regional arbitration court ordered the company to pay a fine of RUB 50,000. The prosecutor also filed a lawsuit to halt the operation of 43 wells and the court ruled in favor of the motion. RN Purneftegaz tried to appeal this ruling, but the judicial panel for civil cases of the Yamalo-Nenets court upheld the ruling. RN Purneftegaz's press service told Interfax that on December 28 the company received a notice from the Federal Environmental, Technological and Atomic Oversight Service's North Ural department that the wells comply with project documentation, and on December 29 the company will send a letter to the Yamalo-Nenets natural resources department requesting permits to put these wells into operation. The company said that, in light of the holidays, all permits are expected to be received by the end of January 2013.
