Arbitration Court Fines NK Rosneft' OAO's Subsidiary for Environmental Damage-Business News Media

Business News Media reported that the Arbitration Court of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District - Yugra satisfied the claim of The Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources (Rosprirodnadzor) to recover from RN-Yuganskneftegaz OOO, NK Rosneft' OAO's subsidiary, RUB 393.9 million as compensation for the harm caused to the environment. The court found that as a result of accidents on the pipeline Mamontovskoe oilfield owned by RN-Yuganskneftegaz OOO, was spilled oil on the area of over 10 hectares. According to the Department of Rosprirodnadzor, territory pollution subsequently became cause of death of waterfowl.
