Rostelekom OAO Completes Merger Of Orenburg-GSM ZAO Into NSS ZAO-AK&M

AK&M reported that Rostelekom OAO has completed the merger of Orenburg-GSM ZAO into it's wholly owned subsidiary NSS ZAO. Orenburg-GSM ZAO will become the backbone for the Orenburg branch of NSS ZAO, the eight unit in the Volga-based cellular operator's structure. The merger of Orenburg-GSM ZAO into NSS ZAO will ensure previously unavailable resources to develop and upgrade the cellular network in Orenburg region, to expand the coverage area, to implement innovative solutions, to improve the quality of services to subscribers. In 2012, 180 new base stations are expected to be constructed. The company will also start developing a 3G network and introduce fixed to mobile convergence (FMC) services combining fixed-line and wireless technologies.
