Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC and Safran Agree Transfer of RTM322 Helicopter Engine Programme to Turbomeca
Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC announced that it has reached agreement to sell its shareholding and interest in the RTM322 helicopter engine programme to Turbomeca (a Safran company). The Company's 50% interest in the engine programme will be progressively transferred to Turbomeca, which will then hold 100% of the RTM322 programme. The Company will receive a cash consideration of €293 million for its shareholding and interest in the programme. Turbomeca will assume full responsibility for the design, production and support of the RTM322 engine, which powers the Apache, EH101 Merlin and NH90 helicopters. The Company will provide full assistance to Turbomeca during the multi-year transition period to ensure all RTM322 customers continue to receive effective support. The RRTM Adour engine programme, which powers the Hawk and Jaguar aircraft, is unaffected by this agreement, as are the other helicopter engine programmes in the Rolls-Royce portfolio. The sale is expected to complete before year end, subject to closing conditions. Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC Wins $1.6 Billion Trent Order From International Airlines Group
Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC announced that it has won a $1.6 billion order, at list prices, from International Airlines Group (IAG) for Trent XWB engines to power 18 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft. The order includes long-term TotalCare service support. In addition, IAG has placed options for a further 18 A350 aircraft. The A350-1000 aircraft is powered exclusively by the higher-thrust version of the Trent XWB. The Trent XWB, specifically designed for the A350 XWB, is the selling Trent engine ever, with more than 1,200 already sold. It took to the skies for the first time in February 2012 on an A380 flying test bed. The Trent XWB engine variant that will exclusively power the A350-800 and -900 was awarded European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) type certification in February and will power the first A350 XWB into service in 2014. The announcement follows recent confirmation by IAG that Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines will power 18 Boeing 787 aircraft that it plans to convert from options to firm orders joining 24 that are already on order. British Airways already operates Rolls-Royce powered Boeing 747, 757, 767 and 777 and the Trent 900 powered A380 is due to enter service later this year. Full Article
Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC Secures USD40 Million Contract To Power Turkmenistan-China Natural Gas Pipeline
Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC announced that it has been awarded a USD40 million contract to supply equipment and related services to power the flow of natural gas through the Uzbekistan section of the Turkmenistan-China natural gas pipeline. Rolls-Royce will supply Asia Trans Gas (ATG LLC), a joint venture between Uzbekistan's Uzbekneftegaz and China's National Petroleum Corporation, with three RB211 gas turbine driven pipeline compressor units for operation at a compressor station on the 530 km Uzbekistan section of the 1,830 km Turkmenistan-China natural gas pipeline. The Uzbekistan section of the Turkmenistan-China natural gas pipeline will transport 25 billion cubic meters per year of gas from Turkmenistan, through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, to China, helping to stabilise China's energy consumption with cleaner natural gas. Mr. Ian Davis to Succeed Sir Simon Robertson as Chairman of Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC
Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC announced that Mr. Ian Davis will succeed Sir Simon Robertson as Chairman. He will join the Board as a Non-Executive Director on March 1, 2013 and take over from Sir Simon at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting on May 2, 2013. Mr. Ian Davis spent more than 30 years with McKinsey & Company, including six as Chairman and Worldwide Managing Director. Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC Signs New USD 83.7 Million Contract For V-22 Engines For U.S. Marines and Air Force
Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC announced that it has signed USD 83.7 million contract for engines to power 19 V-22 aircraft operated by the U.S. Marine Corps and Air Force. The contract, a modification of a prior agreement, includes a total of 38 Rolls-Royce AE 1107C engines manufactured in Indianapolis, Indiana. Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC Signs New Contract
Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC announced that it has been awarded a USD 97.3 million contract from the US Air Force to support its C-130J transport fleet in 2013. The MissionCare contract covers sustainment services for the Rolls-Royce AE 2100 engines as well as the nacelles and propellers on the US Air Force C-130J fleet. Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC announced that it has won an order worth $1.1billion at list prices, from Air Lease Corporation for Trent XWB engines to power its 25 Airbus A350XWB aircraft. Twenty of the Airbus A350 XWB aircraft will be the -900 variant and five will be the -1000 variant which is powered by a higher-thrust version of the Trent XWB. Alstom SA Completes the Acquisition of Tidal Generation Limited (TGL) from Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC
Alstom SA announced that it has completed the acquisition of Tidal Generation Limited (TGL) from Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC. In September 2012, Alstom announced that it had agreed to acquire TGL, which specialises in the design and manufacturing of tidal stream turbines, subject to the achievement of milestones including the installation of the 1 MW tidal turbine at the European Marine Energy Centre's (EMEC) full-scale tidal test site in Orkney, Scotland. On January 24, 2013, TGL, now rebranded Alstom installed the 1MW tidal turbine on the same tripod support structure used to deploy the previously tested 500kW device. Full Article

Dow Jones reported that Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC announced a $75 million contract to supply PetroChina with equipment and related services to power the flow of natural gas through Line 3 of the West-East Pipeline Project, or WEPP.
