Sanofi SA faces strike action but reaches agreement on R&D restructuring-Reuters

Sanofi SA:Employees of Sanofi went on strike on Jan. 14-Reuters.The CFDT, CGT and FO trade unions called on workers to strike to demand higher salaries, the preservation of the company's sites and better job security.According to the unions 2,000 workers went on strike, while Sanofi put the figure at 1,490.Sanofi say production and distribution were not affected.The CFDT and CFTC unions signed an agreement accepting 170 job losses in Research & Development.The restructuring could start in Mar.The restructuring plan had initially involved 187 job losses.Sanofi agreed not to cut any more jobs in R&D between before Dec. 31, 2016.
