Sharp Corp to Establish Joint Venture with China Electronics Corporation

Sharp Corp announced that it will establish a joint venture with China Electronics Corporation in March 2014. The joint venture capitalized at RMB 17.5 billion will be engaged in the design, manufacture and sale of thin film transistor (TFT)-liquid crystal display (LCD) panels, color filters and liquid crystal modules in Jiangsu, China. Sharp Corp and China Electronics Corporation will hold an 8% and a 92% stake in the joint venture respectively. The joint venture will start operation in April 2014.
