Sidenor SA:Informs the investors that on May 27 the ordinary general meeting of the shareholders decided, amongst other items, to change the company's name to SIDENOR HOLDINGS S.A.Says the Ministry of Development by its decision bearing No. Κ-2128/17-06-2014 approved the amendment of the relevant clause of the company's articles of association.It is decided that as from July 16, the name of the company in the Athens Exchange shall change to SIDENOR HOLDINGS S.A.  Full Article

Sidenor SA:Announces a new 10 million euro investment in its Thessaloniki plant.The objective of the new investment is to avoid the reheating of billets, by installing an electric induction furnace in line with the continuous caster, which will raise the temperature of the already hot billets to the required rolling temperature, before cooling.Thanks to this investment energy saving will be achieved and at the same time total carbon footprint will be reduced, since steel rolling will then have a zero direct carbon footprint (no use of natural gas).Furthermore, the possibility to increase the number of shifts for the operation of the Thessaloniki plant during weekends will be examined.  Full Article

Sidenor SA announced that due to the difficult economic conditions in Greece hitting mainly the construction activity, the adverse weather conditions affecting the main export markets (Balkans) and in order to adapt its production to the low demand for construction steel products, the subsidiary SOVEL SA, in agreement with its employees, proceeds to temporary suspension of the production of the plant in Almyros, Magnesia during March.
