Thales SA:Thales joint venture with Siemens Rail Automation wins from Adif contract valued at 54 mln euros for signaling, traffic control, ERMTS automatic train protection, communications and video surveillance technologies to be installed along Pajares Diversion.Companies to be also in charge of maintaining installations for one year, with possibility of one-year extension.Pajares Diversion has approximate length of 50 kilometers and is part of Leon-Asturias high-speed line.First phase of project is to allow for commercial operation under protection of ASFA (Automatic Braking and Signal Announcement) system supplied by Siemens Rail Automation.Second phase of project is to see installation of ERTMS Level 2 system supplied by Thales, allowing speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour to be reached.  Full Article

Siemens AG:Says to join efforts with Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co., Ltd. (BAIC), to bring further green automotive drive-technologies to China market.Two companies signed joint venture at 2014 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition and outlined their plan to utilize Siemens' electric drive train components in range of BAIC vehicles.JV, Beijing Siemens Automotive E-Drive System Co., Ltd., to manufacture components for electric drivetrain including power-electronics and electric motors.Says in 2014 prototype and small volume production will start.In new Beijing based factory mass production to start in 2015.Production volume planned to be more than 100,000 units per year with upside potential.  Full Article

Siemens AG:Receives order from TenneT for offshore wind farm grid connection in North Sea.In consortium with Petrofac Siemens to supply complete technology for efficient direct-current transmission for BorWin3 grid connection as consortium leader.Consortium partner Petrofac to be responsible for construction and offshore installation of project's platform.Supply and laying of cables was tendered separately by TenneT and is therefore not part of consortium's scope of supply.Says 900 megawatt (MW) BorWin3 grid connection to supply nearly one million German households with electricity from wind energy.Completion of order planned for 2019.  Full Article

Gazprom OAO:Says a working meeting was held between Alexey Miller, Chairman of Gazprom Management Committee and Joe Kaeser, President and CEO of Siemens AG.The meeting participants discussed the current state and development prospects for the partnership between the companies.It was pointed out that for more than 20 years of the cooperation the companies had delivered a number of joint projects, particularly, implementation of automation and informatization systems, procurement of gas compressor and electrical equipment as well as turbines for Gazprom's facilities.The parties supported the idea to extend the existing Strategic Partnership Agreement signed by Gazprom and Siemens in Dec. 2011.The document provides for furthering the strategic cooperation in the Russian and international markets, including such sectors as gas production and transmission, underground storage and use as well as automation systems engineering and development, power generation and energy saving technologies.  Full Article

Siemens AG:Says that it has been awarded a $225 million contract to build 32 diesel-electric locomotives for the Multi-State passenger rail locomotive procurement being led by the Illinois Department of Transportation.Procurement is being done on behalf of the Departments of Transportation from 5 states: Illinois, California, Michigan, Washington and Missouri.Says the project includes options for 225 additional locomotives.Says the first locomotives are set to be delivered in 2016.  Full Article

Siemens AG:Announces that its unappropriated net income for the fiscal year ended Sep. 30, 2013 amounting to 643,000,000.00 euros shall be used to pay a dividend of 3.00 euro on each share of no par value entitled to receive a dividend.Says amount attributable to the treasury stock held by the company on the date of the Annual Shareholders' Meeting will be carried forward.Says dividend will be paid from Jan., 29 onward, in general after deduction of 25 percent withholding tax and a 5.5 percent solidarity surcharge on the withholding tax (totaling 26.375 percent).Says payment of the dividend will be effected by the depository banks via Clearstream Banking AG.  Full Article
