SLC Agricola SA Announces Acquisition of Land and Creation of New Production Unit

SLC Agricola SA announced that it has acquired, for the price of BRL 68,581,536, an area of 13,812 hectares between the cities of Monte Alegre and Bom Jesus do Piaui, in Piaui State, which will constitute a new production unit. The deal also included the existing infrastructure of the property, such as grain storage silos. The unit was given the name Fazenda Paineira. The Company estimates that the potential for planting of the unit corresponds, considering the limitation of the legal reserve, to 10,532 hectares, of which 3,700 hectares are already fit for plantation and will be explored by the Company in the 2011/2012 harvest.
