Surgutneftegaz OAO Bids RUB 1.5 Billion to Win Three Khanty-Mansiisk Licenses-Interfax

Interfax reported that Surgutneftegaz OAO won an auction for the rights to explore and develop three hydrocarbon sections in the Khanty-Mansiisk Autonomous District on January 31, bidding a total of RUB 1.474 billion. Yuganedra, the local office of the Russian Federal Subsurface Resources Agency (Rosnedra), told Interfax that the Company bid RUB 676.4 million for the Zapadno-Tukansky section, starting price RUB 356 million; RUB 440 million for the Tukansky section, (RUB 400 million); and RUB 357.5 million for Yuzhno-Tukansky (RUB 325 million). All of the sections are in the Nefteyugansk district. Zapadno-Tukansky, measuring 72,900 square km, contains recoverable C1 oil reserves of 1.011 million tonnes and С2 - 4.071 million tonnes; and probable D1 reserves - 2.3 million tonnes and D2 - 0.4 million tonnes. Seismic work was carried out back in 1967-1968 and four wells were drilled, one of which has been mothballed and three abandoned for geological reasons. The 93.9-km2 Tukansky section has recoverable C1 oil reserves of 2.03 million tonnes and C2 - 1.347 million tonnes, and probable D1 - 2.3 million tonnes and D2 - 50,000 tonnes. Four wells were drilled there, too. One has been mothballed and the other three abandoned. Yuzhno-Tukansky, with is 107.9 square km, has C1 reserves - 675,000 tonnes, С2 - 3.52 million tonnes, D1 - 4.5 million tonnes and D2 - 600,000 tonnes. One of two wells drilled at the site has been mothballed and the other abandoned.
