SerSol Berhad announces SERSOL to venture into Japan’s Green Coating

SerSol Berhad:Signed land mark deal with Nihon Chuo Kenkyujo Co. Ltd. (NCK) from Japan.Under landmark deal, Sersol will manufacture and market thermal barrier paint under the Adgreencoat brand name.Nihon Chuo Kenkyujo Co. Ltd. (NCK) has jointly applied and acquired the patent of Adgreencoat with Admatechs Co. Ltd. through an agreement signed on Feb. 22, 2006.Admatechs Co. Ltd is 53.3 pct owned by Toyota Motor Corporation, Shin Etsu Chemical Co Ltd (25.8 pct), Shin Etsu Quartz Products Co Ltd (15.5 pct), Tatsumori Ltd (5.2 pct) and others (0.2 pct).After jointly acquiring patent of product, NCK now carries out their own Research and Development (R&D), product enhancement and production activities in Japan for Adgreencoat.Admatechs Co Ltd supplies oxide ceramic powders i.e. Admafine to NCK, main material to produce Adgreencoat.NCK now owns the rights to the Adgreencoat brand name.MOU will see Sersol as the sole manufacturer of the paint in the whole of Asia and West Asia (excluding China).Agreement will allow Sersol to have access to Japanese giant's client base throughout Asia and West Asia (excluding Japan) and Middle East.Upon signing the MOU, both parties have agreed to form a SPV. Sersol will hold 51 per cent, while the Japanese will hold 49 per cent stake.E NCK led SPV is known as Roton Kimer Capital Sdn Bhd, will also act as a technology transfer facilitator between the Japanese and Malaysian parties.  Full Article
