PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk Drops Plan To Acquire Pacnet Ltd-DJ
Dow Jones reported that PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk. won't be proceeding with a plan to acquire Pacnet Ltd., an undersea cable operator, Bisnis Indonesia reported, citing the Chief Executive of Indonesia's telecommunications operator. Telkom is dropping the acquisition plan as Pacnet won't give any added value [to Telkom], said CEO Arief Yahya. Telkom, however, will continue to look at potential acquisitions of fiber optic operators in Asia, said Mr. Yahya. Telkom never stated outright the size of the Pacnet stake it was seeking, nor how much it was willing to pay. Full Article
