AK Transneft' OAO to Complete Zapolyarye-Purpe Pipeline Ahead of Schedule-Interfax

Wednesday, 13 Feb 2013 03:27am EST

Interfax reported that AK Transneft' OAO (Transneft') plans to complete construction of the first phase of the Zapolyarye-Purpe oil pipeline ahead of schedule, Transneft President Mr. Nikolai Tokarev said. The completion date was originally scheduled for 2014, but early commissioning of new pipelines has become a Transneft hallmark. The entire pipeline project will be completed at the end of 2015 rather than in 2016, as originally scheduled. The first phase will see construction of a 129-kilometer pipeline, a central pipeline control facility in Novy Urengoi, infrastructure facilities in Korotchaevo and upgrading of the Purpe pump station. The second phase includes construction of a 207-km segment, pump station N2 and a tank farm with capacity for 200,000 cubic meters. The third phase involves construction of a 152-km pipeline and the N1 Zaployarye pump station, which will bring the Zapolyarye-Purpe pipeline up to design capacity of 45 million tons of oil a year. The project will cost an estimated RUB 120 billion. Transneft's investment program for 2013 earmarks RUB 73.5 billion for Zapolyarye-Purpe.
