Aqua America Inc announced that Board of Directors has declared a 9 % increase to its quarterly cash dividend from the current quarterly dividend rate of $0.175 per share to $0.19 per share for the September 1, 2013 dividend. Aqua America Inc Sells Majority Of Florida Operations In 17 Counties In Three Separate Transactions

Aqua America Inc announced that it has completed the sale of 57 water systems and 23 wastewater systems in 12 counties in Florida to the Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) for $50.2 million, subject to certain post-closing adjustments. In separate transactions, Aqua sold nine water systems and four wastewater systems in five counties to U.S. Water for $1.6 million, and Aqua sold one water system and one wastewater system that serve the Arredondo Farms community in Alachua County to YES Communities Companies, LLC, which owns and manages manufactured home communities, for $1.1 million. Collectively, these sales represent 65% of Aqua`s customers in Florida. These transactions represent three out of five separate transactions to sell all of Aqua America`s operations in Florida. Aqua expects to sell its remaining Florida operations in Sarasota and DeSoto counties in the second or third quarter of 2013.  Full Article

Aqua America Inc Subsidiaries Acquire Water And Wastewater Systems In Pennsylvania And Virginia

Aqua America Inc announced that its Pennsylvania and Virginia subsidiaries have acquired water and wastewater assets in two separate transactions. Aqua Pennsylvania, Inc. has acquired the water and wastewater system assets of Total Environmental Solutions, Inc., (TESI), which serve approximately 6,000 people in the Treasure Lake community of Sandy Township, Clearfield County for $11.8 million. The water and wastewater systems are the third and fourth systems Aqua Pennsylvania has purchased from TESI, having purchased the company`s Beech Mountain water and wastewater systems in May 2012.  Full Article

Aqua America Inc announced that in fiscal 2013, it expects revenues continuing to grow despite the fact and this is an important facet that no revenues are added through the tax repair or Aqua Capital Venture because they come in through the equity earning line, for the case of Aqua Capital Venture, the revenues come in what would normally call revenues come in through the equity earning line as it is a joint venture, and of course the Pennsylvania returns come in through reduction in the tax line, even though they both add to the bottom line. Aqua America Inc announced that its Pennsylvania subsidiary, Aqua Pennsylvania, Inc. (Aqua), has acquired the wastewater system assets of Kidder Township, which serves approximately 3,000 people for $11.3 million. Aqua has operated the former municipally owned system since 2006.  Full Article

Aqua America Inc Offers To Sell Florida Operations

Aqua America Inc announced that it has offered to sell all of its Florida operations to the Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) for $95 million. The sale of its Florida water and wastewater systems would conclude Aqua America’s operations in Florida. The FGUA has until November 30 to accept or decline the offer, and FGUA does not have an exclusivity agreement with Aqua to purchase the systems. Aqua America’s Florida subsidiary, Aqua Utilities Florida, Inc. (Aqua) owns 82 water and wastewater systems in Florida. If a sale is consummated, Aqua America will have concentrated its regulated operations in eight states (Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina, Illinois, Texas, New Jersey, Indiana and Virginia). Aqua America is one of the largest U.S.-based, publicly-traded water utilities and serves almost 3 million residents. Aqua America Inc announced that its North Carolina subsidiary, Aqua North Carolina, Inc. (Aqua), has acquired the water system assets of Fox Run Water Co., Inc. and Moseley-Nash Enterprises, Inc. for approximately $175,000. The 12 water systems serve about 1,500 residents in Warren and Northampton counties. At full build-out, these water systems could serve approximately 2,100 residents.  Full Article

Aqua America Inc announced that its Virginia subsidiary, Aqua Virginia, Inc. (Aqua), has acquired the water system assets of Fox Run Water Co., Inc. and Moseley-Nash Enterprises, Inc. for approximately $400,000. The 26 water systems serve about 3,500 people and businesses in several counties primarily surrounding Lake Gaston near the North Carolina border.
