Zygo Corp Establishes Taiwan Subsidiary
Zygo Corp announced that it has increased its presence in Taiwan by forming a separate subsidiary to provide local sales and service support to its Asian customers. Zygo will make a investment in a facility and additional qualified resources to support its customers in the backend semiconductor 3D/2D inspection market for PC substrate and IC packages. Zygo Corporation announced that its Optical Systems Division was awarded an order of over $2 million in March by a semiconductor manufacturer to produce Extreme UltraViolet (EUV) optics used in the development of advanced lithography processes. This order is associated with the CSNE/SEMATECH consortium Micro Exposure Tool (MET-5) program that will help researchers achieve line widths of less than 16 nanometers in support of semiconductor roadmaps projected out to the year 2025. Zygo Corporation announced that its Optical Systems Division has been awarded a contract valued in excess of $9 million with the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) of the University at Albany and the SEMATECH consortium of chipmakers to develop extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography optics to be incorporated into the next, fifth generation Micro-Exposure Tool (MET-5) at CNSE's Albany NanoTech Complex.
