Name Description

Philippe Varin

Mr. Philippe Varin has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Areva S.A. since January 8, 2015. He was Member of the Supervisory Board of the Company between November 26, 2014 and January 8, 2015. Mr. Philippe Varin is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and of Ecole des Mines de Paris. He joined the Pechiney group in 1978 as a researcher and subsequently fills a number of management positions within the group (management control, strategy, project direction) before being appointed in 1995 as Director of the Rhenalu Division then Chief Executive Officer of the aluminum segment and member of the group’s Executive Committee in 1999. In 2003, He joined the Anglo-Dutch steel group Corus as Chief Executive Officer. He was Chairman of the European Steel Association (Eurofer) from 2006 to 2008. He was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of PSA Peugeot Citroën in June 2009 and left the group in June 2014.Mr. Philippe Varin is Chevalier in the Ordre national du Merite, Officier in the Ordre national de la Legion d’Honneur, and Commander of the British Empire. Philippe Knoche

Mr. Philippe Knoche has served as Chief Executive Officer, Member of the Executive Committee, Director of Areva S.A. since January 8, 2015. Mr. Philippe Knoche is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique, where he received a Master’s of Science in Materials Science; he also holds a degree from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Mines de Paris. He began his career in 1995 in Brussels as a case handler for the European Commission’s Antidumping Department. In 1998, he joined the Consortium de Realisation as Assistant to the Chairman of the Supervisory Board. He joined the AREVA group in 2000 as Senior Vice President in charge of Corporate Strategy. He became Executive Vice President of the Treatment Business Unit in 2004 and, in 2006, Director of the Olkiluoto 3 project. In 2010, he took the helm of the Reactors & Services Business Group as Senior Executive Vice President and became a member of the group’s Executive Committee. In July 2011, Mr. Philippe Knoche was appointed to the Executive Board and named Chief Operating Officer in charge of nuclear operations. Within the Company, he was Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Member of the Management Board and Executive Management Board between June 30, 2011 and January 8, 2015, and Director of Reactors and Services Business Group, Member of the Executive Committee between January 2010 and June 30, 2011.

Daniel Verwaerde

Mr. Daniel Verwaerde has served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Areva S.A. since February 2, 2015. He is an engineer and graduate of Ecole Centrale de Paris and auditor of the 32nd session of the Centre des hautes etudes de l’armement (CHEAr). He joined the Commissariat a l’energie atomique (CEA) in 1977 as an engineer-mathematician and worked until 1996 on the development of numerical methods and major weapons simulation software. In the capacity, he directed the Applied Mathematics Department responsible for them at the CEA from 1991 to 1996. In 1996, following France’s signature of the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, he was in charge of implementing the Simulation program, based on three components: numerical simulation theoretical physics and experimental physics, in particular with the Megajoule laser built near Bordeaux. In July 2000, he was appointed Director of the CEA DAM/Ile- de- France Center in Bruyeres-le-Chatel. In 2002, he launched the Ter@tec project aimed at promoting numerical simulation in France and developing the European IT industry. In January 2004, he became Director of Nuclear Weapons at the CEA’s Defense Applications Department. In that capacity, he was responsible for French nuclear weapons projects in the Simulation program. On April 3, 2007, he was appointed Director of Defense Applications. In addition to weapons and simulation programs, he was in charge of nuclear propulsion programs, strategic materials supply, and nuclear non-proliferation activities entrusted to the CEA. He has taught at Ecole centrale of Paris since 1981, where he teaches numerical analysis, becoming Professor in 1991. He is Officer in the Ordre national de la Legion d’honneur and Chevalier in the Ordre national du Merite. Member of the Strategy and Investments Committee. Stephane Lhopiteau

Mr. Stephane Lhopiteau serves as Chief Legal and Financial Officer, Member of the Executive Committee of Areva S.A. He is a graduate from HEC and a chartered accountant, he began his career in 1992 as an entrepreneur. In 1994, he joined Arthur Andersen, where he was promoted to partner in 2002. In 2004, he joined the biscuit company Morina Baie St Michel as the Head of Development and Finance. In 2008, he was recruited by DCNS as Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Committee. Three years later, Thales (industrial shareholder of DCNS along with the French State) offered him to be its SVP, Deputy Finance. Shortly after his arrival at Thales, he led the Finance Department in an acting capacity for nearly a year. In 2013, Stephane Lhopiteau has been in charge of the Thales performance program and has supervised the shared services.

Bernard Fontana

Mr. Bernard Fontana serves as President of AREVA NP within Areva S.A. Bernard Fontana holds a degree in engineering from Ecole Polytechnique and a degree in Engineering from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Techniques Avancees. He began his career with Groupe SNPE in France. In 1998, he was appointed Head of U.S. operations and, from 2001 to 2004, was a Member of the Executive Committee in charge of Chemicals and of Industrial Explosives activities. Shortly after joining ArcelorMittal in 2004, he was given responsibility for Human Resources, Information Technology and business development at Flat Carbon. From 2006 to 2007, he was a member of the Executive Committee of ArcelorMittal with responsibility for the Automotive Worldwide Business Unit. In his capacity as Group Management Committee member, he was subsequently responsible for HR and coordinated the global alliance with Nippon Steel. From 2010 until 2011, Bernard Fontana was CEO of Aperam, a Luxembourg-domiciled stainless-steel company, spun off from ArcelorMittal in the fall of 2010. From February 2012, he has been CEO of Holcim Ltd., ensuring the company’s successful fusion with Lafarge. On September 1, 2015, Bernard Fontana joined the AREVA group and was appointed Chief Operating Officer of AREVA NP.

Mr. Guillaume Dureau serves as Senior Executive Vice President of Customers, Strategy, Innovation and R&D; Member of the Executive Committee of Areva S.A. Guillaume Dureau, inspecteur des Finances, is a graduate engineer from Ecole Polytechnique, specializing in Econometrics and Statistics from Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l'Administration de l'Economie (ENSAE) and holds a degree (DEA) in Economics. He started his career in 1988 as an economist in the short term forecast department at the National Institute of Statistics & Economic Studies (INSEE). From 1992 to 2002, he then worked for the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, at start at the Budget directorate, then from 1998 at the Finance General Inspectorate, being deputy to its chief in December 2001.  In 2002 he began working for AREVA in the role of VP in charge of strategy and internal audit for one of its affiliate, AREVA NP. Guillaume Dureau then took over as SVP, in charge of strategy and M&A for the AREVA group.  In 2006 he became EVP in charge of Equipment Business Unit whilst being a member of the ETC Board. In May 2010 he was appointed as CEO of ETC, a joint venture between Urenco and AREVA. In January 2013, Guillaume Dureau is appointed Senior Executive Vice President, Front End Business Group.

Eric Chassard

Mr. Eric Chassard serves as Senior Executive Vice President of the AREVA Projects BU and Director of Performance, Member of the Executive Committee of Areva S.A. Eric Chassard served as an engineer in the French Atomic Energy Commission (Saclay). He also held various positions as operations manager and safety and product engineer for the Tritium Department at AREVA’s Marcoule facility, Project Manager of the Celestin reactors life extension and at the company’s La Hague facility. Eric Chassard also was safety and quality engineer at Melox facility from 2002 to 2003 and productivity improvement director at that location from 2003 to 2007. From 2007 to 2009, Eric has been Vice President for the Fuel Business for SGN. In 2009, Eric Chassard was appointed Executive Vice President of Shaw AREVA MOX Services, LLC. In 2012, Eric Chassard was appointed Deputy Senior Executive Vice President, Engineering and Projects.

Mr. Francois Nogue serves as Senior Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Communications, Member of the Executive Committee of Areva S.A. He began the first part of his career at Framatome, where he was Vice President of Human Resources from the end of 1991 to the end of 1998. He then joined SNCF as the Deputy Director of Human Resource Management before holding operational positions as the Regional Director for Eastern, then Northern Paris. Mr. Christian Barandas serves as Special Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer of Areva S.A. In the past, he also served as Chief Industrial and Performance Officer of the Company. He holds an Engineering degree from Ecole Catholique d’Arts et Metiers Graduate School in Lyon, France. He began his career at the Pechiney group then he joined COMURHEX Malvesi in 1987 as Technical Services Manager supervising all plant maintenance, and projects. In 1993, he moved to COGEMA La Hague where he held successively positions of increasing responsibilities. In 1996, he became Vice President for Production Units then Deputy Vice President of La Hague facilities in December 2001. He assumed the position of Vice President for Quality and Continuous Improvement at COGEMA in June 2003, then, in July 2003 as Vice President for Sustainable Development and Continuous Progress at AREVA. From May 2005, Mr. Barandas was Executive Vice President of the Chemistry Business Unit, and Chief Executive Officer of COMURHEX.

Jean-Michel Lang

Mr. Jean-Michel Lang has served as Director - Representative of the Employees of Areva S.A. since October 31, 2014. Mr. Jean-Michel Lang holds a two-year technical degree in health and safety and senior technician’s certificate in radiation protection. From 1985 to 1990, he was a radiation protection technician at a regulated nuclear facility. From 1991 to 1993, he was radiation protection zone officer at a regulated nuclear facility. From 1994 to 1999, he was radiation protection manager in a production building. From 1999 to 2000, he was the manager of the technical, environmental and methods office of the radiation protection department. From 2001 to 2008, he was a technician in charge of the treatment of product quality deviations. Since 2008, Mr. Jean-Michel Lang has the status of expert to the head of the department that handles product quality deviations (AREVA NC). He is also an Employee Representative on the Board of Directors of MELOX. He was Member of the Supervisory Board - Employee Representative within the Company between June 21, 2012 and October 31, 2014. Christian Masset

Mr. Christian Masset has served as Director - Representative of the French State of Areva S.A. since January 8, 2015. Mr. Christian Masset is an alumnus of Ecole Nationale d'Administration and a graduate of Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and of ESSEC Business School. Mr. Christian Masset began his career with the Political Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1984. In 1987, he was names First Secretary to the Embassy of France in London before joining, in 1989, the Economic Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris. From 1991 to 1994, he was First Counselor to the Embassy of France in Pretoria then, from 1994 to 1997, Counselor to the Permanent Representation of France to the European Union. From 1997 to 1999, he was appointed Technical Advisor to the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Masset was Minister-Counselor to the Embassy of France in Rome from 1999 to 2002, the Deputy Permanent Representative of France to the European Union from 2002 to 2007, and then Director of Economic and Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2009, he was named Director General of Globalization, Development and Partnerships. In that capacity, he held the office of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Agence pour l’enseignement du francais a l’etranger [agency for French education abroad] and of the France cooperation international public interest grouping. He was Ambassador of France to Japan from January 2012 to July 2014. Mr. Christian Masset is Chevalier of the Ordre national de la Legion d’honneur and Chevalier of the Ordre national du Merite. Since August 1, 2014, Mr. Christian Masset has been Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development. Member of the Strategy and Investments Committee. He was Member of the Supervisory Board - Representative of the French State within the Company between September 29, 2014 and January 8, 2015.

Odile Matte

Mrs. Odile Matte has served as Director - Representative of the Employees of Areva S.A. since October 31, 2014. Mrs. Odile Matte did master’s-level accounting and finance studies. In May 2000, she joined Technicatome, which later became AREVA TA, as a management controller of quality for defense-related projects. Based at the engineering office in Aix-en-Provence, she was a director representing the employees to the AREVA TA Board of Directors for 12 years. She has also been a member of the Supervisory Board of the AREVA fonds monetaire group savings plan since 2007. Mrs. Odile Matte is currently a project administrator with AREVA TA. Member of the Strategy and Investments Committee.

Francoise Pieri

Mrs. Francoise Pieri has served as Director - Representative of the Employees of Areva S.A. since October 31, 2014. Mrs. Francoise Pieri was a secretary with the Testing Department of SGN from 1987 to 1989. From 1990 to 2010, she held various secretarial positions at Socatri. Since October 2010, Mrs. Francoise Pieri has been an integrated management system specialist with AREVA NC. Pascale Sourisse

Mrs. Pascale Sourisse has served as Director of Areva S.A. since January 8, 2015. She began her career in management positions with France Telecom, Jeumont-Schneider and the Compagnie Generale des Eaux, as well as with the Ministry of Industry. She joined Alcatel in 1995 as Vice President, Planning and Strategy of Alcatel Space. In 1997, she was appointed Chairman and CEO of SkyBridge. In 2001, she became President and CEO of Alcatel Space, and in 2005 President and CEO of Alcatel Alenia Space. In 2007, she joined Thales as a member of the Executive Committee Senior Vice President of the Space Division and President and CEO of Thales Alenia Space. In 2008, she was appointed Senior Vice President of the Land & Joint Systems Division of Thales and, in February 2010, she became Senior Vice President of the Defense & Security C41 Systems Division. Until 2012, she was also President and CEO of Thales Communications & Security and President of Thales Services. Mrs. Pascale Sourisse is Officer of the Ordre national de la Legion d’honneur and a Commander of the Ordre national du Merite. In February 2013, Mrs. Pascale Sourisse was appointed Senior Executive Vice President, International Development of the Thales group. Member of the Audit and Ethics Committee. Mr. Claude Imauven has served as Independent Director of Areva S.A. since January 8, 2015. Mr. Claude Imauven is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and holds the rank of Ingenieur from Ecole des Mines de Paris.
