Name Description

Ralph Norris

Sir Ralph James Norris is Independent Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of the company. He has over 40 years of business and banking experience, having led large organisations through transformational change in both New Zealand and Australia. He is the chairman of Fletcher Building Limited and RANQX Holdings Limited, along with holding directorships on the Advisory Boards of New Zealand Treasury, Tax Management NZ and SouthPark Corporation. He is a former director of Fonterra Limited and Origin Energy Limited. He was managing director and chief executive of Commonwealth Bank of Australia for six years until 2011, and prior to that served as chief executive of Air New Zealand and ASB Bank. Sir Ralph was made a Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2009 and a Distinguished Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to business in 2006. In 2012 he had conferred on him an Honorary Doctorate of Business by the University of New South Wales.

Dennis Barnes

Mr. Dennis Barnes is an Chief Executive Officer of Contact Energy Ltd., since January 11, 2011. He has been with Origin since 1998 and he has managed Origin's portfolio of wholesale market activities.

Graham John Cockroft

Mr. Graham John Cockroft is an Chief Financial Officer of Contact Energy Ltd., since July 2, 2012. Prior to this he spent three years as Contact's Chief Operating Officer in which he was responsible for the operation of Contact's wholesale and generation functions, including generation development. Before joining Contact, Graham worked for nearly two decades for BG Group in senior strategy, business development and operational roles. Most recently, Graham was BG Group's Asset General Manager based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He holds a Master of Commerce from the University of Otago, and a Master of Finance from the London Business School.

Catherine Thompson

Ms. Catherine Thompson is General Counsel of the Company effective 6 November 2014. She is Head of Regulatory Affairs and Government Relations. Catherine has been with Contact since 2010 and has a strong legal and regulatory background and extensive understanding and experience of the energy sector.

Mark David Corbitt

Mr. Mark David Corbitt is General Manager - Information and Communication Technology of Contact Energy Ltd., He joined Contact in 2010 as Business Liaison for the Wholesale team before overseeing the company's ICT Strategy and Governance function and taking up the role of Interim General Manager in December 2012. Mark has over 20 years of experience in the technology sector across ICT, telecommunications, finance and insurance, leading technology and business change, customer service, strategy and planning.

Tania Jane Palmer

Ms. Tania Jane Palmer is General Manager - Health, Safety and Environment of Contact Energy Ltd. She was previously Contact's Head of Performance, Rewards & Employment Relations where she led all reward, performance management, employment relations, talent and change management processes. Prior to joining Contact she was director of a successful HR Consultancy, where she led projects for clients within the energy, science and research, manufacturing, retail, arts, financial services, non-profit and government sectors. Tania has also held senior human resources and training management roles in banking, the food manufacturing and export sector, and the military.

Annika Catherine Streefland

Ms. Annika Catherine Streefland is General Manager - People and Culture of Contact Energy Ltd. She joined Contact in January 2010 as General Manager, People and Culture and has a strong background in strategic executive recruitment and human resources. Prior to joining Contact, She held the role of Managing Director at a leading international talent management and executive search firm.

Venasio-Lorenzo Crawley

Mr. Venasio-Lorenzo Crawley is Chief Customer Officer of the Company effective 13 October 2014. He brings together Contact’s customer experience activities. Vena joins Contact with extensive experience in marketing both within the domestic market but also internationally; most recently he held the role of Group Director of Strategy, Marketing and Reputation of IAG UK.

James Kilty

Mr. James Kilty is an Chief Generation and Development Officer of Contact Energy Ltd., effective 13 October 2014. He was previously Contact's General Manager, Generation Development and has held senior management and legal roles with New Zealand Post and Buddle Findlay. He has experience in commercial negotiations, dispute resolution, financing, securities market work and the construction sector. He was awarded Young Energy Executive of the Year at the 2011 Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards in recognition of his work at Contact Energy and contribution to the energy sector.

Elena Trout

Ms. Elena Trout is the Director of the Company. Elena Trout is an experienced company director and a professional engineer who has held a number of leadership positions in the transport, infrastructure and energy sectors. She is the current President of the Institution of Professional Engineers of New Zealand (IPENZ) and is a Fellow of the Institution as well as a Fellow of Engineers Australia, and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors. Elena serves on a number of boards including Harrison Grierson a consulting engineering firm, Marsden Maritime Holdings and EECA. She was one of the inaugural directors of the Electricity Authority and has recently resigned from that role. Prior to being a director of the Electricity Authority she was a director of Transpower. In late 2014 Elena was appointed to undertake an independent assessment of Christchurch’s horizontal infrastructure rebuild programme.

Victoria Crone

Ms. Victoria Crone is Non-Independent Non-Executive Director of the company. She has over 20 years’ experience in the communications and IT sectors. Her experience spans from start-ups to mature products across consumer, small business and enterprise sectors. She is chair of Figure.NZ, a director of Creative HQ and Redshield Security, and a trustee of NZ Hi-Tech Trust. A former managing director of Xero New Zealand, Victoria also held senior management roles in sales and marketing at Chorus and Telecom. She is a passionate kiwi and a member of NZ Global Women. Victoria holds a Master’s degree in Commerce and Administration (Marketing and Management) from Victoria University.

Whaimutu Dewes

Mr. Whaimutu Kent Dewes is Independent Non-Executive Director of Contact Energy Ltd., since February 22, 2010. He is Chairman of the Health, Safety and Environment Committee and member of the Audit Committee. Whaimutu Dewes is of Ngati Porou and Ngati Rangitihi descent and lives in Rotorua. He is the chairman of Aotearoa Fisheries Limited and Sealord Group Limited, and is a non-executive director on the Treasury Board. His former directorships include the Housing New Zealand Board, Television New Zealand Limited and the AMP New Zealand Advisory Board, and he was deputy chairman of Sealord Group between 1992 and 2008. Whaimutu has also held senior management roles at Fletcher Challenge and the Department of Maori Affairs. Whaimutu has a Master’s degree in public administration and degrees in arts and law.

Robert McDonald

Mr. Robert S. McDonald is Independent Non-Executive Director of the company. He is a Member of the Audit Committee and member of the Health, Safety and Environment Committee. Rob’s finance career spans over 30 years, having worked overseas before joining Coopers and Lybrand in the corporate advisory and valuations practice in 1985. He is currently the chief financial officer with Air New Zealand, a position held since 2004, prior to which he was the group treasurer. He is a former board member of the Institute of Finance Professionals New Zealand Inc. and the former vice chairman of the IATA Financial Committee. Rob has a Bachelor of Commerce from Auckland University and in 1999 completed the Programme of Management Development at Harvard Business School. He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Susan Sheldon

Ms. Susan (Sue) Jane Sheldon, CNZM, is Independent Non-Executive Director of Contact Energy Ltd., since March 16, 2009. She is Chairman of the Audit Committee and member of the Remuneration and Nominations Committee. Sue Sheldon is a professional company director. She is the chairman of Freightways Limited, chair of NZ Global Women and a director of Real Journeys Limited. Sue has previously held the roles of chairman of Chorus Limited, Paymark Limited, the board of trustees of the National Provident Fund, deputy chairman of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and Christchurch International Airport Limited, and director of Smiths City Group Limited. Prior to moving into a professional director role, Sue practised as a chartered accountant. She is a former president of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants and was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 2007 for services to business.
