Nikkei likely to rise on hints recession easing

TOKYO, April 30 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei stock average is likely to rise on Thursday after U.S. stocks climbed on a Federal Reserve suggestion that the recession may be easing, with exporters such as Canon Inc likely to benefit from a weaker yen.

TOKYO, April 28 (Reuters) - Japan's Toshiba Corp said on Tuesday it would set up a joint venture with U.S.'s Amkor Technology and Japan's Nakaya Microdevices in October to assemble system chips.
