July 22 (Reuters) - Semiconductor equipment maker Cymer Inc posted a surprise quarterly profit, helped by a 36 percent fall in operating expenses, and forecast third-quarter revenue above Street expectations, sending its shares up 7 percent.

May 18 (Reuters) - Stifel Nicolaus raised the semiconductor capital equipment sector to "overweight" from "neutral," citing a sharp reduction in semiconductor inventory levels and increasing chipmaker utilization rates.
