Britain's largest van hire group, Northgate, will announce higher-than-expected profits on Tuesday. Northgate stumbled through the first part of the year with some difficulty, releasing a third profits warning and coming close to breaking its banking covenants but cost-cutting, debt reduction and stabilisation of the market have facilitated its recovery.
