FRANKFURT, Dec 14 (Reuters) - The following are some of the factors that may move German stocks on Monday:

UPDATE 3-Severstal posts strong Q3, outlook improved

* Q3 net profit $66 million, vs forecast $131 mln net loss

UPDATE 2-Voestalpine Q2 beats estimates, keeps outlook

VIENNA, Nov 19 (Reuters) - Austrian steelmaker Voestalpine swung back to an operating profit in the three months to September and held on to its outlook, citing signs that the downturn had bottomed out and that sectors had stabilised. Although a steep decline in sales volumes and price levels hit year-on-year earnings, the group beat all estimates in a Reuters analyst poll as demand picked up even in developed economies in Europe and the United States.

Voestalpine asks Germany for loan guarantee

VIENNA, Nov 17 (Reuters) - Austria's Voestalpine has applied to German authorities for a state loan guarantee, the steelmaker told Reuters on Tuesday. "We have applied for it and are in talks at the moment," a Voestalpine spokesman said. He would not disclose the amount the company is seeking but said the criteria were "strict".

UPDATE 1-ThyssenKrupp expects return to profit in '10

* ThyssenKrupp FY08/09 pretax loss 2.364 bln eur * Q4 adj pretax loss 332 mln eur

ThyssenKrupp chops dividend, sees return to profit

DUESSELDORF, Germany, Nov 13 (Reuters) - ThyssenKrupp expects to swing back to profit this fiscal year after restructuring costs and a slump in steel demand pushed it into a deep 2008/09 pretax loss and made it slash its dividend.

UPDATE 2-Salzgitter sees fragile European steel market

TABLE-Salzgitter AG 3rd quarter results

Nov 12 (Reuters) - 3 months to 30 Sep 2009 Group (in EUR millions unless otherwise stated)

STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-Salzgitter seen lower after weak Q3

Shares in Salzgitter are indicated 2.1 percent lower in pre-market trade after Germany's second-biggest steelmaker swings to a third-quarter pretax net loss, missing analysts' expectations, and warning that the recovery in the European steel market is still fragile.

STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-Futures point to a weaker start

European futures point to a weak opening after touching a three-week closing high in the previous session as investors digest a raft of earnings from bellwethers such as EDF , Telefonica and InBev .
