LONDON, Nov 18 (Reuters) - Britain's top shares ticked down on Wednesday, with weakness in food retailers and tobacco firms outpacing gains in miners and energy firms, while Marks & Spencer was boosted by the appointment of a new chief executive.
Commodities boost FTSE; M&S up on CEO appointment
LONDON, Nov 18 (Reuters) - Britain's top share index was up 0.4 percent at midday on Wednesday, helped by strength in mining and energy shares which were underpinned by firmer commodity prices, offsetting a defensive drag as risk appetite hardened.
