STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-UK small caps close up 0.5 percent

The FTSE Small Cap index closes 0.5 percent higher but still underperforms strong gains by the blue chips and the midcaps , up 1.8 percent and 1.3 percent respectively.

Shares in UK small cap specialty chemicals group Yule Catto gain 3.5 percent as Morgan Stanley raises its rating to "overweight" from "equal-weight" in a review of the UK chemicals suib-sector.
