Name Description
Howard, Jack Jack L. Howard became the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Adaptec, Inc. in August 2008 and has been a director with the company since December 2007. Mr. Howard is the President of Steel Partners LLC ("Steel Partners"), a global management firm, and has been associated with Steel Partners and its affiliates since 1993. Mr. Howard co-founded Steel Partners II, L.P. ("Steel Partners II"), a private investment partnership, in 1993. He has been a registered principal of Mutual Securities, Inc., a NASD registered broker-dealer, since 1989. Mr. Howard has served as the Chief Operating Officer of SP Acquisition Holdings, Inc. ("SP Acquisition"), a company formed for the purpose of acquiring one or more businesses or assets, since June 2007 and has served as its Secretary since February 2007. He also served as a director of SP Acquisition from February 2007 to June 2007 and as its Vice-Chairman from February 2007 to August 2007. Mr. Howard has been a director of WHX Corporation, a diversified industrial products manufacturing company, since July 2005. Mr. Howard served as Chairman of the Board of a predecessor entity of WebFinancial L.P. ("Web L.P."), a diversified holding company with interests in a variety of businesses, from June 2005 to December 2008, as a director from 1996 to December 2008 and its Vice President from 1997 to December 2008. Quicke, John John J. Quicke serves as a Director of Adaptec, Inc. and has been appointed as Interim President and Chief Executive Officer effective January 4, 2010. Dotz, Mary Mary L. Dotz has served as the Chief Financial Officer of Adaptec, Inc. since March 31, 2008. Prior to joining Adaptec, Ms. Dotz served as Chief Financial Officer for Beceem Communications Inc., a provider of chipsets for the WIMAX market, from October 2005 to March 2008. Previously, Ms. Dotz served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Pinnacle Systems, Inc., a supplier of digital video products, from January 2005 until the acquisition of Pinnacle by Avid Technology, Inc. in August 2005. Prior to that, Ms. Dotz held various finance positions at NVIDIA Corporation, a fabless semiconductor company, from October 2000 to January 2005, including Vice President Finance and Corporate Controller, and Interim Chief Financial Officer from April 2002 to September 2002.
Peters, Jared Jared Peters has been appointed as Vice President of Worldwide Sales of Adaptec, Inc. With more than 19 years of international sales experience in the semiconductor, PC/server, networking, and storage industries, Mr. Peters leads Adaptec's global sales activities to support the company's Data Conditioning Platform and other innovative data storage hardware and software solutions. Mr. Peters has been with Adaptec for 16 years and most recently held the position of vice president of international sales, where he was responsible for developing and driving European and Asian sales strategies for Adaptec's entire product portfolio. Previously, he served as the director of sales for Asia. Prior to Adaptec, Peters worked as a product marketing manager at Conner Peripherals, a hard disk drive manufacturer, where he was responsible for managing the company's high-end disk drive marketing programs. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Santa Clara University and is a Graduate Fellow of the Institute for Information Storage Technology.
Lowe, Marcus Marcus D. Lowe has served as the Vice President of Marketing and Business Development of Adaptec, Inc. since April 2009, Vice President of Emerging Business Unit and Corporate Development from April 2006 to March 2009, and Vice President and General Manager from July 2005 to March 2006. Prior to rejoining Adaptec, Mr. Lowe was a Managing Director at Praxis Ventures, a consulting and investment firm, from April 2004 to June 2005. Between July 2000 and March 2004, Mr. Lowe served as Chief Executive Officer and President of New Moon Systems, Inc., a software provider to manage and deploy Windows-based applications to end-user desktops. Mr. Lowe previously worked at Adaptec from 1991 to 1997 as a General Manager for the SCSI business group, and later the Fibre Channel products group.
