Spinetta, Jean-Cyril Mr. Jean-Cyril Spinetta is Chairman of the Board of Air France - KLM, as of January 1, 2009. He previously served as Chairman of the Board and Managing Director (CEO) from October 22, 1997, and was also Member of the Company's Executive Committee. Prior to that, Mr. Spinetta worked for the French Ministry of Education, where he was in charge of evaluating employment opportunities in the French educational system. In 1996, Mr. Spinetta was a Member of the cabinet of the European Commissioner for Science, Research and Education, and later that year, he joined the Inspectorate’s Office in the French Ministry of Education. In 1994 and 1995, Mr. Spinetta held various positions in the French government, including Special Assistant to the President of the French Republic. From 1990 to 1993, Mr. Spinetta was Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of Air Inter. Currently, Mr. Spinetta also serves as Chairman of Air France. He holds several other mandates, including Member of the Board of Directors of Alcatel-Lucent and Saint-Gobain, Alitalia CAI and Member of the Board of Governors of the IATA (International Air Transport Association), among others. Mr. Spinetta is a graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (1972).
