Poli, Anthony Mr. Anthony Poli, B.Com, CPA, MAICD,is Executive Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer of Aquila Resources Limited since 14 March 2000, Mr. Poli is a qualified accountant and has extensive general management, corporate and directorial experience. He has the responsibility for the operations of the Company and has overseen the growth of the Company.
Rae, Howard Mr. Howard Rae is Chief Financial Officer of Aquila Resources Limited on 1 March 2006. Howard is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has 20 years experience across the accounting profession and resources industry, with expertise in the areas of commercial management, mineral project evaluation, corporate development and debt and equity financing. After graduating from the University of Western Australia, he spent the early part of his career with Ernst & Young, before joining the ASX listed Aurora Gold Limited with financial management responsibilities as it expanded its operations into Indonesia, via the financing and development of the Mt Muro gold and silver mine in Kalimantan. More recently he spent nine years in strategy and business development with South African listed Kumba Resources Limited, managing growth opportunities in the Australasian region, which included the development of the Hope Downs Iron Ore Project, acquisition of mineral sands miner Ticor Limited and the ASX listing of nickel producer Mincor Resources NL.
Wood, Jack Mr. Wood, LL.B (Hons), MBA, is General Counsel, Company Secretary of Aquila Resources Limited. Ray has over 30 years legal experience, including over 20 years in senior in-house roles in the resources industry. He also has over 10 years experience as a commercial partner in private practice advising on a wide range of commercial matters. His resources experience includes the management of the legal function for Hamersley Iron’s Pilbara operations in the role of Chief Legal Officer and Company Secretary of the Hamersley Holdings Group of Companies and more recently as part of a small management team in Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd involved in the negotiation and finalisation of the Hope Downs joint venture between Rio Tinto and Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd.

Tipper, Russell Mr. Russell Tipper, B.Eng, MBA, MAusIMM, is General Manager - Iron Ore of Aquila Resources Limited. Russell has 30 years experience in mining operations, finance and project development throughout Australia. A mining engineer, Russell has worked in senior management and operational roles in steel raw materials operations producing iron ore, coal and manganese for both Robe River and BHP Billiton. Following a short period as Group Treasurer for North Limited which involved funding, mergers and acquisitions and risk management, Russell has led project teams in producing bankable feasibility studies for projects such as Hope Downs Iron Ore, for Hancock Prospecting Pty Ltd and Kumba Resources of South Africa, and the Karara Magnetite and Mungada Haematite Projects for Thiess in alliance with Gindalbie Metals.
Pilcher, Stephen Stephen J. Pilcher has been appointed as General Manager - Coal of Aquila Resources Ltd. Mr. Pilcher has 20 years of experience in the coal industry. He was the general manager – Ellensfield coal for Vale Australia. Stephen who has degrees in Economics and Engineering (Mining), brings a wealth of experience to Aquila, gained in senior positions in the coal industry over the last 20 years. His recent roles included the position of General Manager – Ellensfield Coal for Vale Australia and most recently, the position of Executive General Manager Project Development, overseeing Vale’s coal portfolio in Australia.
Dai, Zhihao Mr. Dai Zhihao is Director of Aquila Resources Limited. Mr. Dai, a Vice President of Baosteel Group Corporation, is Baosteel’s board nominee, following completion of the placement of shares to Baosteel’s subsidiary Fortune BS Pte Ltd, earlier this month. Mr. Dai, has extensive experience in the steel industry, which will be a valued addition to the Aquila Board, as it progresses its Projects over the coming years.
Zhihao, Dai Mr. Dai Zhihao is Director of Aquila Resources Ltd. Mr Dai Zhihao, a VP of Baosteel Group Corporation, is Baosteel's board nominee.
Cowlan, Derek Mr. Derek Cowlan is Non-Executive Director of Aquila Resources Limited since 14 March 2000. Mr. Cowlan has a wealth of experience in financial and business management. He currently presides as the Chairman of the Ross North Group, a large project home building company operating in Western Australia.
Bass, Charles Mr. Charles Bass, B.Sc(Geol), MSc(Mining & Mineral Processing), FAusIMM, FAIG, MASEG, MAICD, has been Non-Executive Director of Aquila Resources Limited since 14 March 2000. After graduating with a in geology and minor in mineral processing, Charles worked as an exploration geologist in northern Canada before becoming Plant Metallurgist at Patino’s copper-gold mine in Quebec. Charles was involved with the earliest computerised ore reserves and mine planning systems for iron, molybdenum and copper projects. Coming to Australia 30 years ago to initially work with Mt Newman, Charles founded the ore reserves and mine planning consultancy, Metech Pty Ltd. His long term client list, where he was closely involved with feasibility through to operations, included Australmin, BHP Iron Ore, Boddington, BP Minerals, Chevron, CSR (Yandicoogina), Outokumpu, Perseverance, and Robe River Iron Associates. Commodities included iron ore, gold, mineral sands, nickel and rare earths. Charles was a Director of Eagle Mining Corporation NL which discovered, developed and operated the Nimary Gold Mine until 1997 when it was acquired by Great Central Mines Limited.
Galt, Gordon Mr. Gordon Galt, G.Eng(Mining, Hons), B.Com, GDip AppFin(Finsia), MAusIMM, MAICD, is Non-Executive Director of Aquila Resources Limited since 22 August 2007. Gordon is a senior mineral resources executive and an experienced Director with international mineral industry experience. During his career, Gordon has worked in senior management, technical and operational roles across a wide range of commodities, primarily in gold, coal, magnesium and copper/lead/zinc. Gordon is by training, a mining engineer with post-graduate qualifications in finance. Both degrees are from the University of Queensland. During the past ten years Gordon has worked mainly as the Managing Director of companies engaged in the development and operation of large resource projects, and he has also spent a period of time in banking. Gordon is currently engaged in funds management and corporate advisory work.
