Name Description

Philippe Varin

Mr. Philippe Varin serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at AREVA S.A. since January 8, 2015. Born August 8, 1952 in Reims, France, Mr. Philippe Varin is a graduate of Polytechnique and of École des mines of Paris. He joined the Péchiney group in 1978 as a researcher and subsequently fills a number of management positions within the group (management control, strategy, project direction) before being appointed in 1995 as Director of the Rhenalu Division then Chief Executive Officer of the aluminum segment and member of the group’s Executive Committee in 1999. In 2003, He joined the Anglo-Dutch steel group Corus as Chief Executive Officer. He was Chairman of the European Steel Association (Eurofer) from 2006 to 2008. He was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of PSA Peugeot Citroën in June 2009 and left the group in June 2014.Mr. Philippe Varin is Chevalier in the Ordre national du Mérite, Officier in the Ordre national de la Légion d’Honneur, and Commander of the British Empire.

Philippe Knoche

Mr. Philippe Knoche serves as Chief Executive Officer, Member of the Executive Board, Member of the Board of Directors at AREVA S.A. Born February 14, 1969 in Strasbourg, France, Mr. Philippe Knoche is a graduate of École polytechnique, where he received a Master’s of Science in Materials Science; he also holds a degree from École des mines. He began his career in 1995 in Brussels as a case handler for the European Commission’s Antidumping Department. Daniel Verwaerde

Mr. Daniel Verwaerde serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at AREVA S.A. since February 2, 2015. Born August 17, 1954 in Sedan, France, Mr. Daniel Verwaerde is an engineer and graduate of École centrale of Paris and auditor of the 32nd session of the Centre des hautes études de l’armement (CHEAr). He joined the Commissariat à l’énergie atomique (CEA) in 1977 as an engineer-mathematician and worked until 1996 on the development of numerical methods and major weapons simulation software. In the capacity, he directed the Applied Mathematics Department responsible for them at the CEA from 1991 to 1996. In 1996, following France’s signature of the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, he was in charge of implementing the Simulation program, based on three components: numerical simulation theoretical physics and experimental physics, in particular with the Megajoule laser built near Bordeaux. In July 2000, he was appointed Director of the CEA DAM/Ile- de- France Center in Bruyères-le-Châtel, home of the teams engaged in weapons design, numerical simulation and monitoring of non-proliferation treaties and efforts. In 2002, he launched the Ter@tec project aimed at promoting numerical simulation in France and developing the European IT industry. In January 2004, he became Director of Nuclear Weapons at the CEA’s Defense Applications Department. In that capacity, he was responsible for French nuclear weapons projects in the Simulation program. On April 3, 2007, he was appointed Director of Defense Applications. In addition to weapons and simulation programs, he was in charge of nuclear propulsion programs, strategic materials supply, and nuclear non-proliferation activities entrusted to the CEA. Mr. Daniel Verwaerde has taught at École centrale of Paris since 1981, where he teaches numerical analysis, becoming Professor in 1991. Stephane Lhopiteau

Mr. Stephane Lhopiteau serves as Chief Financial Officer and Member of the Executive Management Board at AREVA S.A. since March 2015. He is a graduate from HEC and chartered accountant, he began his career in 1992 as an entrepreneur. In 1994, he joined Arthur Andersen, where he was promoted to partner in 2002. In 2004, he joined the biscuit company Morina Baie St Michel as the Head of Development and Finance. In 2008, he was recruited by DCNS as Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Committee. Three years later, Thales (industrial shareholder of DCNS along with the French State) offered him to be its SVP, Deputy Finance. Anne-Marie Choho

Ms. Anne-Marie Choho is Senior Executive Vice President - Safety, Security and Operations Support and Member of the Executive Management Board at AREVA S.A. since March 2015Anne-Marie Choho started her career with AREVA in France 20 years ago. She spent 3 years as a research and development engineer. She then held several engineering positions in France in nuclear fuel reprocessing, nuclear waste treatment, and mixed oxide (MOX) fuel fabrication projects. In 1996, Anne-Marie moved to the USA to contribute her experience in nuclear high level waste to help with the cleanup of the US Department of Energy Hanford site. She spent 7 years supporting the Hanford tank waste remediation projects as design manager, technology program manager, and field engineering manager. She also served as adjunct faculty at the Washington State University for a nuclear waste vitrification course. Next, she became the engineering manager of the MOX Fabrication Facility project, in Charlotte, NC. In 2006, Anne-Marie moved back to France to become deputy Senior Vice-President, and than Senior Vice President for Engineering and Construction of the Plants sector of AREVA NP. In 2010 Anne-Marie was appointed Engineering and Projects Deputy Senior Vice President. She has been Engineering and Projects Senior Executive Vice President since July 2011.

Guillaume Dureau

Mr. Guillaume Dureau serves as Senior Executive Vice President, Back End Business Group and Member of the Executive Management Board at AREVA S.A. since March 2015. Guillaume Dureau, inspecteur des Finances, is a graduate engineer from Ecole Polytechnique, specialising in Econometrics and Statistics from ENSAE and holds a degree (DEA) in Economics. He started his career in 1988 as an economist in the short term forecast department at the National Institute of Statistics & Economic Studies (INSEE). From 1992 to 2002, he then worked for the French Ministry of Economy and Finance, at start at the Budget directorate, then from 1998 at the Finance General Inspectorate, being deputy to its chief in December 2001.  In 2002 he began working for AREVA in the role of VP in charge of strategy and internal audit for one of its affiliate, AREVA NP. Guillaume Dureau then took over as SVP, in charge of strategy and M&A for the AREVA group.  In 2006 he became EVP in charge of Equipment Business Unit whilst being a member of the ETC Board. In May 2010 he was appointed as CEO of ETC, a joint venture between Urenco and AREVA. In January 2013, Guillaume Dureau is appointed Senior Executive Vice President, Front End Business Group.

Bernard Fontana

Mr. Bernard Fontana serves as Senior Executive Vice President, Reactors & Services Business Group and Member of the Executive Management Board at AREVA S.A. since September 21, 2015. Bernard Fontana holds a degree in engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Techniques Avancées in Paris. He began his career with Groupe SNPE in France. In 1998, he was appointed Head of U.S. operations and, from 2001 to 2004, was a Member of the Executive Committee in charge of Chemicals and of Industrial Explosives activities. Shortly after joining ArcelorMittal in 2004, he was given responsibility for Human Resources, Information Technology and business development at Flat Carbon. From 2006 to 2007, he was a member of the Executive Committee of ArcelorMittal with responsibility for the Automotive Worldwide Business Unit. In his capacity as Group Management Committee member, he was subsequently responsible for HR and coordinated the global alliance with Nippon Steel. From 2010 until 2011, Bernard Fontana was CEO of Aperam, a Luxembourg-domiciled stainless-steel company, spun off from ArcelorMittal in the fall of 2010. From February 2012, he has been CEO of Holcim Ltd., ensuring the company’s successful fusion with Lafarge. On September 1, 2015, Bernard Fontana joined the AREVA group and was appointed Chief Operating Officer of AREVA NP.

Francois Nogue

Mr. Francois Nogue serves as Senior Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Member of the Executive Management Board at AREVA S.A. since March 2015. He began the first part of his career at Framatome, where he was Vice President of Human Resources from the end of 1991 to the end of 1998. He then joined SNCF as the Deputy Director of Human Resource Management before holding operational positions as the Regional Director for Eastern, then Northern Paris. In June 2006, he has been appointed Senior Vice President of Cohesion & Human Resources and a member of the SNCF’s Executive Committee.

Olivier Wantz

Louis-Francois Durret

Mr. Louis-Francois Durret has been the Senior Executive Vice President in charge of the Renewable Energies Business Group of Areva S.A. since December 1, 2011. He is a graduate of Ecole nationale des ponts et chausses and holds a diploma in advanced economics studies. He began his career in the Pechiney group. He was deputy general manager of Comurhex from 1990 until 1993, the year he joined COGEMA as director of Strategy. In 1999, he was appointed CFO of COGEMA and was in charge of launching a cost reduction and optimization plan. In 2001, he created AREVA's Audit Department and, in 2004, he became director of the Enrichment Business Unit. Mr. Durret was director of the Fuel Business Unit since 2008.

Pierre Charreton

Mr. Pierre Charreton serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors, Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer at Areva S.A. He previously served as the General Counsel of Areva SA from October 2009 and was also a Member of the Executive Committee of the Company. He holds a Law degree from the Universite d’Orleans and began his career in 1975 as a Junior Legal Advisor in the Pretabail group, a financial leasing company. In 1978, he joined the law firm Fidal as a Legal Advisor. In 1982, he joined Framatome (now AREVA NP) as a Legal Advisor and was temporarily assigned to work with law firm Fried, Frank, Shriver & Jacotson LLP in Washington DC in 1984 and 1985. On returning to France, he worked in Framatome's Legal Department on mergers and acquisitions, mainly in the connectors business. In 1988, he was appointed Secretary General of FCI (then an AREVA subsidiary), a position he held up until 1992 when he was appointed Vice President of Framatome's Legal Department. In 1999, Mr. Charreton took over as Head of the Legal Department in the Thales Group. He also sat on the group's Executive Committee. In 2005, he took charge of France Telecom/Orange Group's Legal Department and was also a member of the group leadership team and administrator for foreign subsidiaries.

Jean-Michel Lang

Mr. Jean-Michel Lang serves as an Employee Representative on the Board of Directors of AREVA S.A. Born March 30, 1962 in Metz, France, Mr. Jean-Michel Lang holds a two-year technical degree in health and safety and senior technician’s certificate in radiation protection. From 1985 to 1990, he was a radiation protection technician at a regulated nuclear facility. From 1991 to 1993, he was radiation protection zone officer at a regulated nuclear facility. From 1994 to 1999, he was radiation protection manager in a production building. From 1999 to 2000, he was the manager of the technical, environmental and methods office of the radiation protection department. From 2001 to 2008, he was a technician in charge of the treatment of product quality deviations. Since 2008, Mr. Jean-Michel Lang has the status of expert to the head of the department that handles product quality deviations (AREVA NC). He is also an Employee Representative on the Board of Directors of MELOX.

Christian Masset

Mr. Christian Masset serves as a member of the Board of Directors of AREVA S.A. since January 8, 2015. Born January 23, 1957 in Sète, France, Mr. Christian Masset is an alumnus of École nationale d’administration and a graduate of the Institute d’études politiques of Paris and of École supérieure des sciences économiques et commerciales (ESSEC). Mr. Christian Masset began his career with the Political Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1984. In 1987, he was names First Secretary to the Embassy of France in London before joining, in 1989, the Economic Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris. From 1997 to 1999, he was appointed Technical Advisor to the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Masset was Minister-Counsellor to the Embassy of France in Rome from 1999 to 2002, the Deputy Permanent Representative of France to the European Union from 2002 to 2007, and then Director of Economic and Financial Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2009, he was named Director General of Globalization, Development and Partnerships. In that capacity, he held the office of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Agence pour l’enseignement du français à l’étranger [agency for French education abroad] and of the France cooperation international public interest grouping. He was Ambassador of France to Japan from January 2012 to July 2014. Mr. Christian Masset is Chevalier of the Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur and Chevalier of the Ordre national du Mérite. Since August 1, 2014, Mr. Christian Masset has been Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development.

ODILE MATTE

Mrs. Odile Matte serves as an Employee Representative on the Board of Directors of AREVA S.A. since October 31, 2014. Born September 16, 1959 in Algrange, France, Mrs. Odile Matte did master’s-level accounting and finance studies. In May 2000, she joined Technicatome, which later became AREVA TA, as a management controller of quality for defense-related projects. Based at the engineering office in Aix-en-Provence, she was a director representing the employees to the AREVA TA Board of Directors for 12 years. From 2001 to 2007, he joined the Cour des Comptes (Court of Audit) as Senior Auditor to the 6th Chamber in charge of social security. From April 2007 to October 2009, he held the positions of deputy to the Delegate General of the Technical Center of Pension Funds (CTIP), Senior Auditor to the 1st chamber of the Cour des Comptes, and chargé de mission to the Secretary General of Social Ministries. In October 2009, he became Director Elect and subsequently Director General of the Agence regional de santé (ARS, the regional health agency) in the RhôneAlpes region. In October 2011, he was named Section President to the first Chamber of the Cour des Comptes, and rapporteur-general of the Inter-chamber Group, in charge of public finances. In October 2012, he was appointed Secretary General of the Social Ministries before becoming Chief of Staff for Madame Touraine. Francoise Pieri

Mrs. Francoise Pieri serves as an Employee Representative on the Board of Directors of AREVA S.A. since October 31, 2014. Born September 21, 1967 in Saint-Just d’Ardèche, France, Mrs. Francoise Pieri was a secretary with the Testing Department of SGN from 1987 to 1989. Mrs. Sophie Boissard is Chevalier in the Ordre national du Mérite. Mrs. Sophie Boissard has been Chief Executive Officer of the Korian Group since January 26, 2016. Claude Imauven

In 1996, he was appointed General Delegate for Spain, Portugal and Morocco. Returning to France in 1999, he joined the Pipe activity as Chief Operating Officer of Pont-à-Mousson SA. In 2001, he became Chairman and CEO of that company and President of the Pipe activity. From April 2004 to the end of 2015, Mr. Claude Imauven was Senior Vice President of Saint-Gobain and President of the Construction Products Sector. Mr. Claude Imauven is Officier in the Ordre national du Mérite. Mr. Claude Imauven has been Chief Operating Officer of Saint-Gobain since January 1, 2016.
