Biographies

Name Description

Colin Benner

 Mr. Colin Keith Benner is Executive Chairman of the Board of AuRico Gold Inc. He is an experienced mining executive with 40 years in the mining industry in senior management and executive roles in Canada and internationally. He was Interim CEO of HudBay Minerals Inc, Executive Chairman of PBS Coals Limited, Vice Chairman and CEO of Skye Resources and previously Vice Chairman and CEO of Lundin Mining Corporation as well as EuroZinc Mining Corporation. Mr. Benner serves on several other boards in the mining industry. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario, the Canadian Society of Professional Engineers as well as a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Nunavut, the Society of Mining Engineers of the AIME and the Canadian Institute of Mining. Mr. Benner is also a Registered ICD-DP.

Scott Perry

 Mr. Scott Graeme Perry is President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of AuRico Gold Inc. He has been appointed to the position of Director of the Company with effect from May 13, 2013. Mr. Perry brings financial leadership experience in the mining industry and has held senior financial leadership positions over the past 10 years. His 9 years with Barrick will add considerable depth to the senior management and financial teams. Currently, Scott is CFO (seconded from Barrick Gold) with Highland Gold Mining Ltd. ("HGML") where he is managing the company's financial reporting and compliance commitments as well as its short term & long term financial & operational strategy execution. Scott also led the Company's business & corporate development initiatives. Prior to being seconded to Highland Gold, Scott held increasingly senior financial roles with Barrick Gold in Australia, the U.S. and in Russia, Central Asia where he was instrumental in establishing Barrick's presence in Russia and assembling financial team. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Curtin University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investment as well as a CPA designation.

Robert Chausse

 Mr. Robert J. Chausse has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President of AuRico Gold Inc., effective January 21, 2013. Mr. Chausse brings with him more than 19 years of international finance and mining experience. Most recently he was the Vice President of Finance, Operations and Projects for Kinross Gold Corporation, a position he held since 2009. Prior to that, Mr. Chausse was Chief Financial Officer for Baffinland Iron Mines Corporation from 2006 to 2009 and held increasingly senior positions with Barrick Gold from 1998 to 2006. Mr. Chausse received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1990.

Russell Tremayne

 Mr. Russell Tremayne is Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President of AuRico Gold Inc., since January 28, 2008. He held the position of Director of Operations with HGML. While at Highland Gold, Russell was responsible for all operational activities including production, development/stripping, milling operations, engineering and production planning, logistics and purchasing, quality control, utilities and communications. Russell also had overall responsibility for budgets and management reporting and has a great deal of experience and success dealing with safety and environmental issues. His experience and solutions driven approach will greatly strengthen Gammon's operational team and provide the leadership the company's require to enhance the mining methods and practices that will position the Company to achieve its potential at Ocampo. Russell holds an Accredited Bachelor of Science Mining.

Matthew Howorth

 Mr. Matthew J. Howorth is Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary of AuRico Gold Inc., since October 2011. His previous occupation was Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary for Northgate Minerals Ltd.

Chris Bostwick

 Mr. Chris Bostwick is Senior Vice President - Technical Services of AuRico Gold Inc., since January 2009. His previous occupation was Director of Capital Projects & Technical Services for Highland Gold Mining Limited.

Charlene Milner

 Ms. Charlene Milner is Vice President - Finance of AuRico Gold Inc., since October 2011. Her previous occupation was Senior Director, Finance for AuRico Gold Inc.

Daniel Gignac

 Mr. Daniel Gignac has been appointed as Vice President - Operations, Mexico of AuRico Gold Inc with effect from September 5, 2012. Mr. Gignac brings over 30 years of global mining experience, where he has held increasingly senior operational roles, most recently with Newmont Mining Corporation. Mr. Gignac will report to Russell Tremayne, Chief Operating Officer, Mexico, and his appointment will further strengthen the current operational team at the Company's Mexican assets. Mr. Gignac will focus on supporting the accelerated underground development initiatives at the Ocampo mine and further optimizing operational enhancements at both the El Chanate and Ocampo mines.

 Mr. Christopher J. Rockingham is Vice President - Exploration & Business Development of AuRico Gold Inc., since October 2011. His previous occupation was Vice President, Exploration & Business Development for Northgate Minerals Ltd.

Chris Richter

 Mr. Chris Richter is Vice President - Corporate Development of AuRico Gold Inc., since April 2010. His previous occupation was Senior Manager, Capital Allocation, Strategy & Risk for Barrick Gold Corporation.

Luis Chavez

 Dr. Luis Chavez is Director - Mexican Operations, Non-Independent Director of AuRico Gold Inc., since July 16, 2007. Dr. Chavez has considerable experience in all mining related areas; he holds a Master of Science degree in Mineral Economics (1978) from Penn State University, and a PhD degree in Energy and Mineral Economics (1982) from the University of Arizona. He has a Business Administration Degree (1989) from the Pan- American Business Institute in Monterrey, Mexico. Dr. Chavez has attended and lectured several short courses and seminars, in topics related to the mining industry. Dr. Chavez is the author of the National Mapping Program and the creator of the geology and mining data bank currently in use by mining companies doing business in Mexico. In 2001, he was invited by the Governor of Coahuila State to become Energy and Mines Director with the objective of developing rational and sustainable development policies and strategies to maximize energy and mineral resources value. From 2002 to 2006, he was Secretary General for the Mexican Mining Directors and was also President of the Mexican Institute for Environmental Management.

Peter MacPhail

 Mr. Peter K. MacPhail is Chief Operating Officer, Canada & Australia of AuRico Gold Inc., since October 2011. He has been Chief Operating Officer – Northgate Division, AuRico Gold Inc., previous occupation was Chief Operating Officer for Northgate Minerals Ltd.

Ronald Smith

 Mr. Ronald E. Smith is Lead Independent Director of AuRico Gold Inc. He is a former Chief Financial Officer with Aliant Telecom Incorporated and its predecessor, Maritime Telephone & Telegraph Limited, he later served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Emera Incorporated and its subsidiary, Nova Scotia Power Incorporated. Mr. Smith completed a term as Chair of the Acadia University Board of Governors and continues to serve on the board. Mr. Smith serves on the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and serves as a trustee of the Nova Scotia Association of Health Organizations pension fund. Mr. Smith serves as a member of the Canadian Accounting Standards Oversight Council. He is a former National President of the Canadian Association for Community Living and former Chair of thne Atlantic Provinces Economic Council.

Joseph Spiteri

 Mr. Joseph G. Spiteri has been appointed as Director of AuRico Gold Inc., with effect from May 13, 2013. Mr. Spiteri is Principal of a private mining consultancy. He has experience in advanced-stage exploration, feasibility, construction, operations and acquisitions. Prior to becoming a consultant, Joe held senior management or executive positions with Dome Mines Group, Placer Dome Incorporated, Northgate Explorations Limited, Lac Minerals Limited and Campbell Resources Incorporated. Mr. Spiteri obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Toronto in 1976. Between 1982 and 1984, Mr. Spiteri completed graduate level business courses, on a part-time and correspondence basis from Laurentian University and Dalhousie University. He is a member of The Canadian Institute of Mining and The Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario.

Richard Colterjohn

 Mr. Richard Mark Colterjohn is an Independent Director of AuRico Gold Inc., since April 12, 2010. He has been a Managing Partner of Glencoban Capital Management Inc., a merchant banking firm, since 2002. He has 20 years of involvement in the mining sector, as an investment banker, director and operator. Prior to co-founding Glencoban Capital, he served as a Managing Director at UBS Bunting Warburg from 1992 to 2002, where he was Head of Mining Sector investment banking activities in Canada. In 2004, he founded Centenario Copper Corporation and served as the President and CEO and a director, until the sale of the company in 2009. Mr. Colterjohn has served on the boards of 5 additional publicly traded mining companies, including: Canico Resource Corp (2003-2005); Cumberland Resources Ltd. (2003-2007); Viceroy Exploration Ltd. (2004-2006); Explorator Resources Ltd. (2009-2011); and MAG Silver Corp. (2007–ongoing).

Mark Daniel

 Mr. Mark Daniel is an Independent Director of AuRico Gold Inc., since October 26, 2011. Mr. Daniel worked with the Bank of Canada and a number of other federal agencies prior to joining the Conference Board of Canada in 1979. During his 15-year career with the Conference Board, he benchmarked leadership and management practices in some of the companies in North America, Europe and Japan. Mr. Daniel joined Vale Inco (formerly CVRD Inco) in 1996, retiring as Vice President, Human Resources in 2007. Since that time, he has consulted with organizations on performance improvement, executive development, succession planning and organization design. Mr. Daniel holds a PhD in economics from the University of Minnesota.

Patrick Downey

 Mr. Patrick D. Downey is an Independent Director of AuRico Gold Inc., since October 26, 2011. Mr. Downey is a corporate director who has been in the gold and copper mining industry throughout his 35 year career. Mr. Downey joined Northgate Minerals Corporation in 1980 and served as Chief Financial Officer for four years and retired as President in 1994. Mr. Downey is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Ontario Chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors. He holds an Hons. B. Comm. degree from Laurentian University.

Alan Edwards

 Mr. Alan R. Edwards is an Independent Director of AuRico Gold Inc., since May 13, 2010. He is a mining professional with 30 years of diverse mining industry experience. Mr. Edwards has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining Engineering and an MBA (Finance), both from the University of Arizona. He initially worked for Phelps Dodge Corporation for 15 years where he held positions of increasing responsibility, including General Manager of Operations, Chino Mines Company. From 2007 to 2009, Mr. Edwards held the position of President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Frontera Copper Corporation. From 2004 to 2007, Mr. Edwards held the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Apex Silver Mines Corporation where he was responsible for the engineering, construction and commissioning of the San Cristobal project in Bolivia. From 1996 to 2000, Mr. Edwards worked for Cyprus Amax Minerals Company where he rose to the position of President/General Manager of Sociedad Minera Cerro Verde S.A. in Peru. Prior to joining Apex Silver Mines, he held senior operating positions with P.T. Freeport Indonesia and Kinross Gold Corporation.
