Name Description
Ross, Lloyd He has been chair of the board of directors of American States Water Co., since April 1999 and has served as a director since 1995. Mr. Ross has been the principal of L. Ross Consulting since 2003. He was Managing Partner of Invermex, LP, a developer of hotels in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, from 1997 to 2003. From 1976, prior to becoming Managing Partner of Invermex, LP, Mr. Ross was the President and Chief Executive Officer of SMI Consulting, a commercial and industrial general contracting firm in Irvine, California. He has been chair of the board of directors of the company since April 1999 and has served as a director since 1995. He is a non-voting ex-officio member of each of the committees of the board.
Sprowls, Robert Mr. Robert Sprowls was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of American States Water Company effective January 1, 2009. Mr. Sprowls holds similar titles and responsibilities for the company’s subsidiaries, Golden State Water Company, Chaparral City Water Company and American States Utility Services, Inc. and its subsidiaries. Mr. Sprowls joined American States Water Company in June 2004 as Senior Vice President – Finance, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Corporate Secretary. He was promoted to Executive Vice President – Finance, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Corporate Secretary in January 2008 and became Executive Vice President of the company and its subsidiaries in November 2008. Prior to joining American States Water Company, Mr. Sprowls served as President of Central Illinois Light Company from 2001 through 2003. Mr. Sprowls has not previously served on the board.
Wicks, Floyd Mr. Floyd Wicks retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of American States Water Company and its subsidiaries on December 31, 2008. He had been the President and Chief Executive Officer of American States Water Company since its formation as a holding company for Golden State Water Company in 1998 until January 1, 2009. He has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Golden State Water Company since April 1992, and President and Chief Executive Officer of each of the company's other subsidiaries since their formation or acquisition by us until January 1, 2009. Mr. Wicks is a member of the ASUS committee and the strategy and corporate development committee and has served as vice chair of the board since January 1, 2009. Mr. Wicks has served as a director since 1992. He will continue to serve on the board of directors as a class I director until his successor is elected to the board at the 2009 annual meeting and will provide consulting services to the company through June 30, 2009. His talent, knowledge and contributions to the company will be missed.
Tang, Eva Ms. Eva Tang has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President - Finance, Secretary and Treasurer of American States Water Company and Senior Vice President-Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Secretary of Golden State Water Company, the principal subsidiary of the Company effective November 1, 2008. Ms. Tang has been with the Company since August of 1996 and has served as Vice President-Finance, Treasurer and Assistant Secretary of Golden State Water Company since October 2002. She has also served as Treasurer and Assistant Secretary of each of the Company's other subsidiaries. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Marketing, from National Cheng-Chi University in Taiwan, and an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles ("UCLA") Graduate School of Management, with a concentration in Finance.

Mr. McNulty retired as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Parsons Corporation in 2008, after 20 years of service and continues to retain his position as a Director on the Parsons' Board. He holds a bachelor's degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point and two master's degrees, one in Nuclear Physics from Ohio State University and one in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
