Name Description

Vincent Forlenza

Mr. Vincent A. Forlenza is Chairman of the Board, President, Chief Executive Officer of Becton Dickinson And Co. Mr. Forlenza joined BD in 1980 and has held leadership positions in the United States and Europe. These include appointments as President of Becton Dickinson Microbiology Systems in 1996; Senior Vice President, Technology, Strategy and Development in 1998; President of BD Biosciences in 2003; and Executive Vice President in 2006, during which he was responsible for the BD Diagnostics segment. Mr. Forlenza was named President in January 2009, assumed additional responsibility as Chief Operating Officer in July 2010, and became Chief Executive Officer in October 2011 and Chairman of the Board in July 2012. Mr. Forlenza is active in various professional and community associations. In October 2010, he was appointed chairman of AdvaMedDx, a division of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) that focuses solely on in-vitro diagnostic technologies. He also serves on the AdvaMed Board. Mr. Forlenza currently serves as chairman of The Valley Hospital Board of Trustees. He is a member of the Advisory Board for the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Lehigh University and is a member of the Board of Trustees at Lehigh. Mr. Forlenza obtained his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Lehigh University in 1975 and his MBA from Wharton Graduate School, University of Pennsylvania in 1980.

Christopher Reidy

Mr. Christopher R. Reidy is Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President, Principal Accounting Officer of Becton Dickinson And Co. He joins BD from ADP Corporation, where he served as Corporate Vice President and CFO for six years. Prior to ADP, Mr. Reidy’s more than 30 years of experience includes serving as CFO at NBA Properties, Inc.; Vice President, Controller & Chief Accounting Officer and division CFO roles at AT&T Corporation; and Audit Partner at Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Reidy, a Certified Public Accountant, earned his MBA from Harvard University and his B.S. in accounting from St. Francis College.

Ellen Strahlman

Dr. Ellen Strahlman, M.D., M.H.Sc., has been appointed as Chief Medical Officer, Senior Vice President - Research and Development of Becton Dickinson and Company, effective April 22, 2013. Dr. Strahlman joins BD from GlaxoSmithKline, where she served as Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer since 2008 and more recently worked in the Office of the CEO as Senior Medical Advisor and Global Head of Neglected Tropical Diseases. As GSK's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Strahlman had accountability for safety and patient matters for all programs in development and commercialized products in the Vaccines, Pharmaceutical and Consumer businesses, as well as organizational responsibility for medical affairs, regulatory affairs, clinical safety and other areas. Prior to GlaxoSmithKline, Dr. Strahlman has held executive leadership roles at Merck, Novartis, Pfizer, and Bausch & Lomb that included oversight of the development and commercialization of proprietary and generic pharmaceuticals, drug delivery systems and medical devices. Dr. Strahlman obtained her M.D. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, her M.H.Sc. from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and her B.A. degree from Harvard University.

Henry Becton

Mr. Henry P. Becton, Jr., is Lead Independent Director of Becton Dickinson And Co. Since 2007, he has served as Vice Chairman of the WGBH Educational Foundation, a producer and broadcaster of public television, radio and Internet programs, and other educational media materials. He served as President of WGBH Educational Foundation from 1984 to 2007. Mr. Becton also serves as Lead Director of the Belo Corporation, a director of Public Radio International, and a director/trustee of various DWS mutual funds. He was formerly a director of the PBS Foundation.

Ms. Burzik currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of the American College of Wound Healing and Tissue Repair, is a member of the San Antonio Branch of the Dallas Federal Reserve Board, and is a general partner of Targeted Technology Fund II, LP. Previously, Ms. Burzik served as President of Applied Biosystems and as President of Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, Inc., a Johnson & Johnson company, and held senior executive roles at Eastman Kodak Company. Ms. Burzik was formerly a director of Allscripts Healthcare Solutions, Inc. and VitaPath Genetics, Inc.

Edward DeGraan

Mr. Edward F. DeGraan is Independent Director of Becton Dickinson And Co. In 2006, he retired as Vice Chairman – Gillette of the Procter & Gamble Company, a manufacturer of consumer products. Prior thereto, he was Vice Chairman of The Gillette Company, and served as its President and Chief Operating Officer from 2000 until 2003. Bertram Scott

Mr. Bertram L. Scott is Independent Director of Becton Dickinson And Co. Mr. Scott is President, U.S. Commercial of CIGNA Corporation, a position he has held since joining that organization in June 2010. Prior thereto, he served as Executive Vice President of TIAA-CREF from 2000 to June 2010, and as President and Chief Executive Officer of TIAA-CREF Life Insurance Company from 2000 to 2007. Mr. Scott also is a director of AXA Financial, Inc.

Alfred Sommer

Dr. Alfred Sommer, M.D., M.H.S., is Independent Director of Becton Dickinson And Co. He is Professor of International Health, Epidemiology, and Ophthalmology at The Johns Hopkins University (“JHU”) Bloomberg School of Public Health (the “Bloomberg School”) and the JHU School of Medicine, positions he has held since 1986. He is Dean Emeritus of the Bloomberg School, having served as Dean from 1990 to 2005. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Medicine. He is a recipient of the Albert Lasker Award for Medical Research. Dr. Sommer also is a director of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc., and Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Albert and Mary Lasker Foundation.
