Name Description

Yanhong Li

Mr. Yanhong Li is Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder of Baidu, Inc. He received a bachelor of science degree in information management from Peking University in 1991, and a master of science degree in computer science from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1994. Robin worked as a Senior Consultant at a subsidiary of Dow Jones and designed the real-time financial information system for the online edition of the Wall Street Journal. Robin received a US patent for a system of hyperlink analysis in 1999, one of the inventions that has helped shape today's search technology. He later joined InfoSeek, one of the early search engines, in Silicon Valley as a Senior Engineer. Since founding the company in January 2000, Robin has led Baidu to be China’s largest search engine, with over 70% market share. Baidu is the largest Chinese search engine globally and the second largest independent search engine in the world. China is among the four countries globally—alongside the United States, Russia and South Korea—to possess its own core search engine technology. Through innovations such as from Box Computing to Baidu’s Open Data and Open App Platform, Robin has substantially advanced the theoretical framework of China’s Internet sciences, propelling Baidu to be the vanguard of China’s Internet industry. In 2005, Baidu became a NASDAQ-listed public company and in 2007 was the first Chinese company to be included in the NASDAQ-100 Index. In 2007, The Financial Times listed Baidu as one of the Top 10 Chinese Global Brands, with Baidu being the youngest company as well as the only Internet company in the top ten.

Ya-Qin Zhang

Dr. Ya-Qin Zhang is President of Baidu, Inc. Prior to joining Baidu, He joined us in September 2014. He currently serves as president in charge of technology, emerging business, and global business operations. Prior to joining us, Dr. Zhang was Microsoft Corporation’s corporate vice president and the chairman of Microsoft Asia-Pacific R&D Group for a decade, leading Microsoft’s overall research and development efforts in the Asia-Pacific region. Before joining Microsoft in 1999, Dr. Zhang was a director for the Multimedia Technology Laboratory at Sarnoff Corp. Dr. Zhang currently serves on the board of Tarena International, Inc. and ChinaCache International Holdings Ltd., both of which are listed on NASDAQ. Dr. Zhang received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from George Washington University.

Qi Lu

Dr. Qi Lu is Group President, Chief Operating Officer of the company. He joined the company in January 2017 as group president and chief operating officer, in charge of products, technology, sales, marketing and operations. Prior to joining us, Dr. Lu most recently served as Microsoft’s global executive vice president and led one of Microsoft’s three business units, having joined Microsoft in 2009 as president of its Online Services Group. Earlier in his career, Dr. Lu joined Yahoo! in 1998, later becoming senior vice president in charge of search and advertising technologies, and subsequently executive vice president in 2007. Dr. Lu holds both bachelor and master degrees in computer science from Fudan University in Shanghai and a PhD in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University. He holds over 40 US patents and has authored many papers in his field.

Xinzhe Li

Ms. Xinzhe Li is Chief Financial Officer of Baidu, Inc. She has served as our chief financial officer since March 2008 and is in charge of our overall finance functions. Ms. Li has extensive experience in U.S. GAAP reporting and in developing and leading finance and accounting teams before she joined us. Prior to joining Baidu, Ms. Li served as controller of General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC)’s North American Operations from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, Ms. Li worked at General Motors China, where she was responsible for overseeing finance functions of General Motors’wholly owned and joint venture businesses in China from 2001 to 2004, with the last post as its chief financial officer. From 1994 to 2001, she held several other finance positions at General Motors in Canada, the United States and Singapore. Ms. Li currently serves on the Board of Philip Morris International, Inc.. Ms. Li holds an M.B.A. degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C., Canada and a bachelor of art degree from Tsinghua University in China.

Jing Wang

Mr. Jing Wang is Senior Vice President of Baidu, Inc. He has served as our senior vice president since December 2013, and is in charge of our autonomous driving efforts. He is currently general manager of Baidu’s Autonomous Driving Unit. From April 2010 to October 2016, Mr. Wang served as our vice president of technology functions. Prior to joining Baidu, Mr. Wang served as deputy managing director of Google China’s R&D Institute from 2006 to 2010, general manager of eBay China’s Development Center from 2004 to 2006, chief technology officer of eBay China from 2003 to 2004, and senior technical director at Alibaba from 2000 to 2001. From 1991 to 2000, Mr. Wang held various managerial and technical positions at technology companies in the US, such as Oracle, Informix and E-Loan. Mr. Wang received a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Science and Technology of China and a master’s degree in Computer Science from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He later obtained his second master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Florida.

Hailong Xiang

Mr. Hailong Xiang is Senior Vice President of Baidu, Inc., since October 2014, and is in charge of our business products and sales force management. Mr. Xiang joined us in February 2005 following our acquisition of Shanghai Qilang, an internet services firm established by Mr. Xiang in 2000. Mr. Xiang received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from East China Normal University.

Guang Zhu

Mr. Guang Zhu is Senior Vice President of the company. He joined Baidu in December 2008, and was promoted to senior vice president in June 2016. Mr. Zhu has been in charge of Baidu’s financial products and operations since December 2015. From December 2008 to December 2015, Mr. Zhu was in charge of Baidu’s marketing, government relations and Baidu News. Since joining Baidu, Mr. Zhu has led the company’s marketing, public relations and branding efforts, and has been responsible for Baidu’s internal and external communication strategies. Prior to Baidu, he held the position of senior director of public relations and integration promotion for Greater China at the Lenovo Group. Mr. Zhu graduated from Xi’an Jiaotong University.

Victor Liang

Mr. Victor Liang is Vice President and General Counsel; Executive Assistant to Chief Executive Officer of the company. He joined Baidu in June 2005, and became vice president and general counsel in June 2011. Mr. Liang has served as the executive assistant to Baidu Chairman & CEO Robin Li since January 2013. Mr. Liang leads our overall legal functions and oversees the daily operations of Baidu’s Executive Office. Prior to joining Baidu, he worked at the legislative affairs office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, and at Jun He Law Offices. He also worked at the New York office of Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP as a visiting attorney. Mr. Liang graduated from Yale Law School with an LL.M. degree. He also earned law degrees from the University of New South Wales and Peking University.

Lee Liu

Mr. Lee Liu is Vice President of Human Resources and Admin of the company. He joined Baidu in April 2011 as vice president. He is in charge of Baidu’s human resources functions. Prior to joining Baidu, from 2000 to 2011, Mr. Liu served in a variety of senior roles at Motorola, where he last served as vice president of human resources. Mr. Liu graduated from Tianjin University with a degree in microelectronics, and received an Executive MBA degree from Peking University.

Lu Wang

Mr. Lu Wang is Vice President of the company. He joined Baidu in September 2016 as vice president. He is in charge of Baidu’s strategic partnerships, marketing, public relations and government relations functions. Prior to Baidu, Mr. Wang was president and CEO of Wal-Mart Global eCommerce in Asia, and led the acquisition of the e-commerce platform Yihaodian. Before Wal-Mart, Mr. Wang was a global vice president and president in China at CBS Interactive. Mr. Wang also previously held roles at CNET and Ziff-Davis. Lu Wang holds a bachelor’s degree from Beijing Union University and an EMBA degree from Peking University.

Andrew Ng

Mr. Andrew Ng is Chief Scientist of the company since May 2014. He is in charge of Baidu’s global strategy for developing artificial intelligence technology and advanced infrastructure. Dr. Ng leads Baidu Research in our Beijing and Silicon Valley offices, and manages technical teams that are dedicated to speech recognition, image recognition & search, and big data technology. Dr. Ng is also an adjunct professor of computer science at Stanford University. Prior to joining Baidu, he co-founded Coursera since 2012. Dr. Ng served as the founding leader of the Google Brain deep learning project from 2011 to 2012. He has authored or co-authored over 100 published research papers in machine learning, robotics, and other related fields. Dr. Ng holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, a master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a bachelor of science degree in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.

Brent Callinicos

Mr. Brent Callinicos is an Independent Director of Baidu, Inc., since October 2015. He has been Chairman of our Audit Committee since April 2016. Mr. Callinicos most recently served as the chief financial officer of Uber Technologies Inc. from September 2013 to March 2015, where he remains an advisor. Prior to joining Uber, he worked at Google from January 2007 to September 2013, where he last served as vice president, treasurer and chief accountant. He also led green energy investments and financial services at Google Inc. From 1992 to 2007, he served in a variety of increasingly senior roles at Microsoft Corporation, where he last served as corporate vice-president and divisional chief financial officer of the Platforms and Services Division, and oversaw Microsoft’s Worldwide Licensing and Pricing and Microsoft Financing. He currently serves on the board of directors of PVH Corp., a NYSE-listed company, and two private companies. Mr. Callinicos is a certified public accountant. Mr. Callinicos received a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.B.A. degree from the Kenan-Flagler School of Business at Chapel Hill.

Jian Ding

Mr. Jian Ding is Independent Director of Baidu, Inc. He has served as our independent director since our initial public offering in August 2005. Mr. Ding is currently a general partner and managing director of GSR Ventures, an early stage venture fund focusing on technology, media and telecom investment in China. Prior to that, Mr. Ding served as a co-chairman of the board of directors of AsiaInfo-Linkage Inc., a former NASDAQ-listed company, from July 2010 to January 2014. Prior to that, Mr. Ding served as the chairman of the board of AsiaInfo from April 2003 to July 2010, and a member of the board since AsiaInfo’s inception in 1993. Mr. Ding served as the chief executive officer and president of AsiaInfo from 1999 to 2003 and as senior vice president and chief technology officer of AsiaInfo from 1993 to 1999. Mr. Ding also serves as an independent director of Huayi Brothers Media Corporation, a ChiNext Shenzhen-listed company. Mr. Ding received a master’s degree in information science from the University of California, Los Angeles and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Peking University in China.

Greg Penner

Mr. Greg Boyd Penner is Independent Director of Baidu, Inc. He has served as our director since July 2004. Mr. Penner is the chairman of the board of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and a general partner at Madrone Capital Partners, an investment management firm based in Menlo Park, California. From 2002 to 2004, Mr. Penner was the senior vice president and chief financial officer of Wal-Mart Japan. From 2000 to 2002, Mr. Penner was senior vice president of finance and strategy for Walmart.com. From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Penner was a general partner at Peninsula Capital, an early stage venture capital fund. Previously, Mr. Penner worked in strategic planning at Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and corporate finance at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Mr. Penner is also a director of Teach for America. Mr. Penner received an M.B.A. degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in international economics from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.

Yuanqing Yang

Mr. Yuanqing Yang is an Independent Director of Baidu, Inc., since October 2015. Mr. Yang is currently the chairman and chief executive officer of Lenovo Group Limited, a Hong Kong-listed company. Mr. Yang joined Lenovo in 1989 and has led the company from the initial China-based PC maker to a diversified global technology leader. In 2011, FinanceAsia named Mr. Yang the Best CEO in China. In 2004 and 2012, Mr. Yang was named one of the “CCTV China Annual Economic Figures.” He was listed on Barron’s list of Best CEOs in 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2014, Mr. Yang won an Edison Achievement Award for Innovation. Mr. Yang currently serves as a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. Mr. Yang holds a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Science and Technology of China.
