Wade Dawe |
Mr. Wade K. Dawe is Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer of Brigus Gold Corp. He is no longer President of the Company effective January 1, 2013. He has been an entrepreneur in Canadian mining and venture capital industries since 1994 and has consistently demonstrated results for shareholders through strategic planning, quality acquisitions and partnerships, and by retaining and developing industry respected senior management and directors. He is chairman and a director of Linear Metals Corporation ("Linear Metals"), and serves on the board of directors of ImmunoVaccine Inc. and NWest Energy Corp. Mr. Dawe has a bachelor of commerce degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, where he currently serves on the Advisory Board to the Faculty of Business Administration. Mr. Dawe's philanthropic activities include establishing and personally funding the annual James R. Pearcey Entrepreneurial Scholarship at Memorial University. |
Daniel Racine |
Mr. Daniel Racine, P. Eng., is President, Chief Operating Officer of Brigus Gold Corp. He has been appointed as President of the Company effective January 1, 2013. Prior to his appointment at Brigus, Mr. Racine was Senior Vice-President Mining of Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited where he oversaw Agnico’s global mining operations. Mr. Racine joined Agnico as a junior Mining Engineer in 1988 and took on progressively more responsibility during his career with them. His roles included LaRonde Mine Manager; Vice-President, Operations Manager; and Senior Vice-President Operations. |
Jon Legatto |
Mr. Jon Legatto, CA, has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer of Brigus Gold Corp., with effect from September 6, 2012. Mr. Legatto is a Chartered Accountant with over 13 years of experience, 10 years of which were spent with Ernst and Young in their audit and advisory practice serving both public and private entities. Prior to joining Brigus, he was the Senior Manager Compliance and Performance Improvement with Homburg Canada REIT, where he was responsible for that company’s corporate governance and performance improvement programs. Mr. Legatto obtained his CA in 2000 and is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University where he obtained Bachelor’s degrees in both Geology and Business Administration. Mr. Legatto is actively involved in the community and has held positions with the Canadian Progress Club Halifax, Progress Center for Early Intervention, and the Kidney Foundation of Canada – Nova Scotia branch. |
Jennifer Nicholson |
Ms. Jennifer Nicholson, CA, is Executive Vice President of Brigus Gold Corp., since January 3, 2012. Her responsibilities include investor relations, human resources, operational support and corporate strategy. Ms. Nicholson is a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years experience in investor relations, corporate communications, strategic development and financial management. Prior to joining Brigus Gold in 2011, Ms. Nicholson held a similar position with Emera Inc. for five years. Before joining Emera, she worked as an Accounting Lecturer at Saint Mary's University, held various financial positions at Nova Scotia Power Inc. and earned her CA with Ernst & Young LLP. Ms. Nicholson is a member of the Advisory Board of the Atlantic Innovation Fund of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia Council. Howard Bird |
Mr. Howard M. Bird, P. Geo., is Senior Vice President - Exploration of Brigus Gold Corp. He is currently responsible for the executive management and development of the Company’s global mineral projects and providing support for corporate and global operations. He is a senior executive and internationally experienced geologist with over eighteen years of diverse experience in the public mineral resource sector. Mr. Bird has experience in a range of commodities, including gold, base metals, platinum and diamonds. He has directed programs around the world for various companies including: Noranda Mining and Exploration, Corona Corporation and SouthernEra Resources. Inc., Mr. Bird is a practicing member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario and received his bachelor's degree with honours from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. |

Mr. Harry Burgess is Independent Director of Brigus Gold Corp. He is a Senior Associate Mining Engineer of Micon International Limited ("Micon") of Toronto, Ontario. As a founder of Micon, he has over 30 years experience in the mining industry, including conducting due diligence reviews, operational monitoring and benchmark studies. Prior to his consulting career, he held senior management positions in the copper and gold mining industry in Zambia and South Africa. He is a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario and the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, as well as a fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining and the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He is also a director of Vena Resources Inc., a TSX-listed company, and Acme Resources Corp., a TSXV-listed company and is on the board of several other mining companies. Mr. Burgess received his bachelor's degree with honours in mechanical engineering at the Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London and his bachelor's degree in mining engineering at the Royal School of Mines, University of London. Mr. Derrick Gill is Independent Director of Brigus Gold Corp. Mr. Gill is the Executive Vice President and Principal Consultant of Strategic Concepts Inc., which provides strategic planning, financial modeling and business development consultation to mining and oil and gas projects in Canada. He is also a member of the advisory board of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency’s Atlantic Innovation Fund. Mr. Gill’s 30- year career has included executive roles at Vale Inco Newfoundland & Labrador Limited (formerly Voisey's Bay Nickel Company), Diamond Fields International Ltd. (formerly Diamond Fields Resources Inc.) and Bristol Communications. Mr. Gill currently serves as the chair of Genesis, a commercial research and development arm of Memorial University in Newfoundland and Labrador. He is also a director of Crosshair Exploration & Mining Corp. Mr. Gill received his undergraduate degree in business administration from Memorial University. |

Mr. Marvin K. Kaiser is Independent Director of Brigus Gold Corp. He has over 40 years of experience in the mining industry and is a Certified Public Accountant. At the time of his retirement in 2006, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of The Doe Run Company ("Doe Run"), an international natural resource company focused on the mining, smelting, recycling and fabrication of metals. Prior to joining Doe Run, Mr. Kaiser was the Chief Financial Officer of Amax Gold Inc from 1989 to 1993. He serves as a director of Gryphon Gold, Inc. and Uranium Resources, Inc. as well as two privately held exploration companies. Mr. David W. Peat is Independent Director of Brigus Gold Corp. Mr. Peat has over 25 years of executive experience in financial leadership in support of mining corporations. Mr. Peat has held multiple executive positions including as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Frontera Copper from 2006 through 2009; Vice President and Global Controller of Newmont Mining from 2002 through 2004; and Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Homestake Mining from 1999 through 2002. Mr. Peat began his career at Price Waterhouse in Toronto and he has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario since 1978. Mr. Charles E. Stott Jr., is Independent Director of Brigus Gold Corp. He has been an independent mining consultant with T. P. McNulty & Associates since 1995, which provides consulting services to the mineral, metal and chemical industries. He was the former chairman of Apollo Gold Corporation, the predecessor company of Brigus. He served as President and CEO for Gold Capital Corporation from 1994 to 1995; Horizon Resources from 1990 to 1993; and Amax Gold Inc. from 1986 to 1989. He is a director of Western Troy Capital Resources Inc. and Hazen Research, Inc. since 2002.
