Biographies

Name Description

Eric Streitberg

Mr. Eric Charles Streitberg has been appointed as Executive Chairman of the Board of Buru Energy Ltd., with effect from 23 May 2014. He was Company's Non-Executive Chairman of the Board and Non-Executive Director. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Geography. He has over 40 years’ experience in petroleum geology and geophysics, oil and gas exploration and oil and gas company management. He held the position of Managing Director of ARC Energy Limited from 1997 until August 2008 during which time ARC Energy Limited was transformed from a junior oil and gas exploration company into a mid-size Australian oil and gas producer. He is Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, Petroleum Exploration Society of Australia and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. He is currently Chairman of the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association and the Marine Parks & Reserve Authority of Western Australia. He was also Non-Executive Director of Adelphi Energy Limited from 2005 until 2010.

Damian Ogburn

Dr. Damian Ogburn has been Chief Scientist of Buru Energy Ltd since September 5, 2012. Dr. Ogburn is an experienced environmental practitioner with 35 years in senior government and private sector including the oil and gas industry.

Tom Streitberg

Mr. Tom Streitberg has been Head - Strategy and Business Development of Buru Energy Ltd since September 5, 2012. He was previously Joint Company Secretary and Chief Operating Officer of the Company. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and is Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia. He was appointed to the position of Company Secretary in December 2009. He has legal and corporate finance background, having previously worked in the Sydney offices of both Australian law firm and an international investment bank providing advice on mergers and acquisitions and capital raisings. Since 2004, he acted as consultant to the Australian oil and gas sector, providing corporate and commercial advice to listed companies, including Buru.

Lauren West

Ms. Lauren West has been General Counsel of Buru Energy Ltd since September 5, 2012. She was previously General Manager of Legal and Regulatory. Ms. West has legal experience having practiced in corporate, resources and native title law, including spending time working in the Kimberley region.

William Williams

Mr. William (Bill) Williams has been Chief Commercial Officer of Buru Energy Ltd since September 5, 2012. Mr. Williams has over 30 years experience in project management, business development and contract negotiation in senior executive positions covering all aspects of the energy sector from gas field development to pipelines and power station development and energy trading. In particular, this included working with QGC Ltd as General Manager Commercial and Financial to facilitate the initial commercialization of its gas resources.

Shane McDermott

Mr. Shane McDermott has appointed as Company Secretary of Buru Energy Ltd., with effect from 11 July 2014. He has an accounting and auditing background having worked at a large international accounting practice for five years at its Perth office before joining Buru Energy in 2009. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and an Associate of the Governance Institute of Australia. He acted as Buru Energy’s Joint Company Secretary from 1 December 2011 to 1 November 2012 and was the Assistant Company Secretary for two years prior to that appointment.

Eva Howell

Ms. Eva Alexandra Howell has been appointed as Non-Executive Independent Director of Buru Energy Limited, with effect from 2 July 2014. She has over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in a number of technical and managerial roles, primarily with Amoco, Apache and Woodside. She is currently a director of ASX-listed Downer EDI Limited and Mermaid Marine Australia Ltd. In the private sector, she is Non-executive Chairman of EMR Resources Pty Ltd and on the Senior Advisory Panel of Miro Advisors Ltd. She has previously served on a number of boards including Tangiers Petroleum (as Executive Chairman), the Fremantle Port Authority, the Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association (where she chaired the Environmental Affairs Committee), and as a board member and President of the Australian Mines and Metals Association. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Peter Jones

The Hon. Peter Jones, AM, has been Independent Non-Executive Director of Buru Energy Limited since October 19, 2009. He was Member of the Western Australian Parliament from 1974 to 1986 during which time he served as Minister for Resources Development, Mines, Fuel and Energy. He was founding Chairman of ARC Energy Limited and Chairman of AMMTEC Limited. He previously served as Chairman of the Australian Defense Housing Association and the Water Corporation of Western Australia. He is the Chairman of Remuneration and Nomination Committee.

Robert Willes

Mr. Robert A. Willes has been appointed as Non-Executive Independent Director of Buru Energy Limited., with effect from 2 July 2014. Robert has over 25 years of extensive international experience in the oil and gas and energy industries – primarily with BP. He is the Managing Director of Challenger Energy Ltd (ASX: CEL) and has previously served on a number of boards including the Australian Petroleum Production and Exploration Association (APPEA), North West Shelf Gas Pty Ltd, North West Shelf Liaison Co. Pty Ltd, North West Shelf Australia LNG Pty Ltd, North West Shelf Shipping Services Co. Pty Ltd, Carbon Reduction Ventures Pty Ltd and Perth Centre for Photography. His early career with BP involved several positions in petroleum product supply, trading and marketing, and as a lead negotiator for numerous gas transactions in Europe. He subsequently joined BP’s Group Mergers and Acquisitions team, where he led the divestments of Burmah Castrol’s Chemicals Division and Great Yarmouth Power Ltd, and advised the Corporation on a number of acquisition opportunities. In Australia, Robert was BP’s General Manager of the North West Shelf LNG Project. In this role, he had accountability for strategy, production, safety, marketing and profitability. He secured BP’s investment approval for the North West Shelf Train 5 LNG Expansion, managed the negotiation of several key LNG contracts with Japanese utilities, and oversaw the closing of the North West Shelf Project’s landmark, A$25 billion LNG sale into China.
