Name Description

Mark Rohr

Mr. Mark C. Rohr is Chairman of the Board, President, Chief Executive Officer of Celanese Corp. Mr. Rohr has been Chairman of the board and Chief Executive Officer since April 2012 and a member of board of directors since April 2007. He served as a director and as the Executive Chairman of Albemarle Corporation, a global developer, manufacturer and marketer of highly-engineered specialty chemicals, from September 2011 until February 2012 and previously had served as the Chairman from 2008 to 2011, President from 2000 to 2010, Chief Operating Officer from 2000 to 2002 and Chief Executive Officer from 2002 to 2011 of Albemarle. Prior to that, Mr. Rohr served as Executive Vice President - Operations of Albemarle. Before joining Albemarle, Mr. Rohr held leadership roles with companies including Occidental Chemical Corporation and The Dow Chemical Company. Mr. Rohr has served on the board of directors of Ashland Inc. since 2008, and has served as a member of its audit committee and the environmental, health & safety committee. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the board of directors and Chairman of the Finance, Audit and Membership Committee of the American Chemical Council. Mr. Rohr received a bachelor's degree in chemistry and chemical engineering from Mississippi State University.

Christopher Jensen

Mr. Christopher W. Jensen, CPA, is Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President - Finance of the Company. He has served as our Chief Financial Officer since July 2015 and as our Senior Vice President, Finance since April 2011. He served as our Interim Chief Financial Officer from May 2014 to July 2015. From August 2010 to April 2011, Mr. Jensen served as our Senior Vice President, Finance and Treasurer. Prior to August 2010, Mr. Jensen served as our Vice President and Corporate Controller from March 2009 to July 2010. From May 2008 to February 2009, he served as Vice President of Finance and Treasurer. In his current capacity, Mr. Jensen has global responsibility for corporate finance, treasury operations, insurance risk management, pensions, global business services, information technology, corporate accounting, tax and general ledger accounting. Mr. Jensen was previously the Assistant Corporate Controller from March 2007 through April 2008, where he was responsible for SEC reporting, internal reporting, and technical accounting. In his initial role at Celanese from October 2005 through March 2007, he built and directed the Company's technical accounting function. From August 2004 to October 2005, Mr. Jensen worked in the inspections and registration division of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. He spent 13 years of his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, an assurance, tax and advisory services firm, in various positions in both the auditing and mergers & acquisitions groups. Mr. Jensen earned bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from Brigham Young University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Patrick Quarles

Mr. Patrick D. Quarles has been appointed as Executive Vice President, President - Acetyls Chain and Integrated Supply Chain of the Company, effective June 1, 2015. Prior to joining Celanese, Mr. Quarles held a variety of leadership positions at LyondellBasell Industries N.V. before serving as Executive Vice President of the Intermediates and Derivatives (I&D) segment and the supply chain and procurement functions from January 2015 to June 2015, including serving as a member of LyondellBasell's Management Board from April 2014 to June 2015, Senior Vice President - I&D from 2009 to April 2014 and Vice President of Performance Chemicals from 2004 to 2009. Mr. Quarles began his career in 1990 at ARCO Chemical/Union Carbide where he held various positions in sales, marketing and business management. Mr. Quarles earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University and a master of management degree from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Scott Sutton

Mr. Scott McDougald Sutton has been appointed as Executive Vice President, President - Materials Solutions of the Company, effective June 1, 2015. From January 2015 to June 2015, Mr. Sutton served as our Vice President and General Manager of the Engineered Materials business. Prior to January 2015, Mr. Sutton served as our Vice President of Supply Chain from March 2014 to January 2015 and as our Vice President of Acetic Acid and Anhydride from August 2013 to March 2014. Mr. Sutton had 28 years of industry experience prior to joining Celanese, including serving as President and General Manager of Chemtura Corporation's AgroSolutions business, business manager for Landmark Structures and Vice President of a division of Albemarle Corporation. Mr. Sutton earned a civil engineering degree from Louisiana State University and is a registered professional engineer in Texas.

Gjon Nivica

Mr. Gjon N. Nivica, Jr., serves as Senior Vice President, General Counsel of Celanese Corp. He has served as our Senior Vice President and General Counsel since April 2009 and served as our Corporate Secretary from April 2009 to February 2014. Mr. Nivica previously served as Deputy General Counsel to Honeywell International Inc., a global technology and manufacturing leader, and Vice President and General Counsel of the Honeywell Transportation Systems business group from 2005 to 2009. Prior to that time, he was the Vice President and General Counsel of Honeywell Aerospace Electronic Systems from 2002 to 2005 and of Honeywell Engines Systems and Services from 1996 to 2002. Mr. Nivica began his career in 1989 as a corporate associate in the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, a global law firm, where he specialized in acquisitions, divestitures and general corporate and securities work, before becoming Mergers & Acquisitions Senior Counsel to AlliedSignal Aerospace Inc. from 1994 to 1996. Mr. Nivica received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Boston University Law School.

Verghese Thomas

Dr. Verghese Thomas is Chief Technology & Innovation Officer of the Company. He joined Celanese in 2009 and has held various technology roles of increasing leadership responsibility in the company. In the past 18 months, Dr. Thomas led the team responsible for the technology innovation efforts in the Celanese engineered materials business as it contributed significantly to the record financial performance achieved by the company. Prior to joining Celanese, Dr. Thomas was the Global Technology General Manager for the Specialty Film & Sheet business at Sabic Innovative Plastics. Previously, he held various technology leadership roles in multiple businesses at GE Plastics with a strong track record of innovation in polymer product and process technologies. Dr. Thomas holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in Polymer Technology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

Kevin Oliver

Mr. Kevin S. Oliver is Chief Accounting Officer of the Company. He has served as the Company’s vice president and controller since May 2012. From March 2008 to May 2012, Mr. Oliver served as the Company’s assistant controller and director of technical accounting. From December 2003 to February 2008, Mr. Oliver worked as associate director of inspections for the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. He spent 11 years of his career at public accounting firms including as senior manager at Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen, each an assurance, tax and advisory services firm, in various positions in the auditing practice. Mr. Oliver holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Southern Nazarene University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

David Hoffmeister

Mr. David F. Hoffmeister serves as a Lead Independent Director of Celanese Corp. Mr. Hoffmeister served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Life Technologies Corporation, a global life sciences company, prior to its acquisition by Fisher Scientific Inc. in February 2014. From October 2004 to November 2008, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Invitrogen Corporation, which merged with Applied Biosystems in November 2008 to form Life Technologies Corporation. Before joining Invitrogen, Mr. Hoffmeister spent 20 years with McKinsey & Company as a senior partner serving clients in the healthcare, private equity and chemical industries on issues of strategy and organization. From 1998 to 2003, Mr. Hoffmeister was the leader of McKinsey’s North American chemical practice.

Jean Blackwell

Ms. Jean S. Blackwell serves as an Independent Director of Celanese Corp. Ms. Blackwell has served as a member of the board of directors of Essendant Inc. (formerly United Stationers Inc.), a leading national wholesale distributor of business products, since May 2007, including currently as the chair of the governance committee and as member of the finance committee and previously as the chair of the human resource committee. She previously served as a member of the board of directors from April 2004 to November 2009, and as chairperson of the audit committee, of Phoenix Companies Inc., a life insurance company. Ms. Blackwell served as Chief Executive Officer of Cummins Foundation and Executive Vice President, Corporate Responsibility, of Cummins Inc., a global power leader that designs, manufactures, distributes and services diesel and natural gas engines and engine-related component products, from March 2008 until her retirement in March 2013 and previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 2003 to 2008, Vice President, Cummins Business Services from 2001 to 2003, Vice President, Human Resources from 1998 to 2001 and Vice President and General Counsel from 1997 to 1998 of Cummins Inc. Prior to joining Cummins, Ms. Blackwell was a partner at the Indianapolis law firm of Bose McKinney & Evans LLP from 1984 to 1991, where she practiced in the area of financial and real estate transactions. She has also served in state government, including as Executive Director of the Indiana State Lottery Commission and State of Indiana Budget Director.

William Brown

Mr. William M. Brown is Independent Director of the Company., effective January 1, 2016. Mr. Brown is Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Harris Corporation, an international communications and information technology company. Mr. Brown joined Harris in November 2011 as President and Chief Executive Officer and was appointed Chairman in April 2014. Prior to joining Harris, Mr. Brown was Senior Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Development, of United Technologies Corporation (“UTC”). He also served five years as President of UTC’s Fire & Security Division. In total, Mr. Brown spent 14 years with UTC, holding U.S. and international roles at various divisions, including Carrier Corporation’s Asia Pacific Operations and the Carrier Transicold division. Before joining UTC in 1997, he worked for McKinsey & Company as a senior engagement manager. He began his career as a project engineer at Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. Mr. Brown serves on the board of directors of the Fire Department of NYC Foundation and the board of trustees of both the Florida Institute of Technology and the Florida Polytechnic University.

Edward Galante

Mr. Edward G. Galante serves as an Independent Director of Celanese Corp. Mr. Galante served as Senior Vice President and as a member of the management committee of Exxon Mobil Corporation, an international oil and gas company, from August 2001 until his retirement in 2006. Prior to that, he held various management positions of increasing responsibility during his more than 30 years with Exxon Mobil Corporation, including serving as Executive Vice President of ExxonMobil Chemical Company from 1999 to 2001. Mr. Galante currently serves as a director (since 2007), chairman of the compensation and management development committee and as a member of the governance and nominating committee and the technology, safety and sustainability committee of Praxair, Inc. He also serves as a director (since 2010) and chairman of the governance committee of Clean Harbors, Inc. From 2008 until November 2014, Mr. Galante served as a member of the board of directors of Foster Wheeler AG, which included service on Foster Wheeler's compensation and executive development committee (including as chairman) and audit committee.

Kathryn Hill

Ms. Kathryn M. Hill is Independent Director of Celanese Corporation. Ms. Hill served in a number of positions at Cisco Systems, Inc. from 1997 to 2013, including, among others, as Executive Advisor from 2011 to 2013, Senior Vice President, Development Strategy and Operations from 2009 to 2011, Senior Vice President, Access Networking and Services Group from 2008 to 2009, and Senior Vice President, Ethernet Systems and Wireless Technology Group from 2005 to 2008. Cisco designs, manufactures and sells Internet Protocol (IP)-based networking and other products related to the communications and information technology industry and provides services associated with these products. Prior to joining Cisco, Ms. Hill had a number of engineering roles at various technology companies. Ms. Hill is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology.

Jay Ihlenfeld

Dr. Jay V. Ihlenfeld serves as an Independent Director of Celanese Corp. From 2006 until his retirement in 2012, Mr. Ihlenfeld served as the Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific, for 3M Company, a leader in technology and innovation. Mr. Ihlenfeld previously served as 3M Company’s Senior Vice President, Research and Development from 2002 to 2006. A 33-year veteran of 3M Company, Mr. Ihlenfeld has also held various leadership and technology positions, including Vice President of its Performance Materials business and Executive Vice President of its Sumitomo/3M business in Japan.

Farah Walters

Ms. Farah M. Walters serves as an Independent Director of Celanese Corp. Since 2005, Ms. Walters has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of QualHealth, LLC, a healthcare consulting firm. From 1992 until her retirement in June 2002, Ms. Walters was the President and Chief Executive Officer of University Hospitals Health System and University Hospitals of Cleveland. She also serves as a member of the board of directors of PolyOne Corporation (since 1998), including as a member of the compensation committee and the nominating and governance committee. She previously served as the lead director (2006-2007), chairperson of both the compensation and nominating and governance committees and the 2005 chief executive officer search committee, and as a member of the environmental, health and safety committee and the financial policy committee of PolyOne. She was a member of the board of directors of Kerr McGee Corp. from 1993 until 2006. While a director at Kerr McGee, she served as the chairman of the compensation committee, the chairman of the audit committee, a member of the executive committee and a member of the governance committee. From 2003 to 2006, Ms. Walters was also a director and a member of the compensation committee and the audit committee of Alpharma, Inc.

John Wulff

Mr. John K. Wulff serves as an Independent Director of Celanese Corp. Mr. Wulff is the former Chairman of the board of directors of Hercules Incorporated, a specialty chemicals company, a position he held from July 2003 until Ashland Inc.’s acquisition of Hercules in November 2008. Prior to that time, he served as a member of the Financial Accounting Standards Board from July 2001 until June 2003. Mr. Wulff was previously Chief Financial Officer of Union Carbide Corporation, a chemical and polymers company, from 1996 to 2001. During his fourteen years at Union Carbide, he also served as Vice President and Principal Accounting Officer from January 1989 to December 1995 and Controller from July 1987 to January 1989. Mr. Wulff was also a partner of KPMG LLP and predecessor firms from 1977 to 1987. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors (since 2004), the chairman of the governance and compensation committee and as a member of the audit committee of Moody’s Corporation. Mr. Wulff is also chairman of the audit committee, a member of the environmental, health and safety committee and a member of the board of directors of Chemtura Corporation (since October 2009). Mr. Wulff served as a director of Sunoco, Inc. from March 2004 until October 2012 when Sunoco was acquired by Energy Transfer Partners L.P.
