Patrick Nettles	Dr. Patrick H. Nettles, Ph.D., is Executive Chairman of the Board of Ciena Corp., since May 2001. Dr. Nettles has served as a director of Ciena since April 1994. From October 2000 to May 2001, Dr. Nettles was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Ciena, and he was President and Chief Executive Officer from April 1994 to October 2000. Dr. Nettles serves as a Trustee for the California Institute of Technology and serves on the board of directors of Axcelis Technologies, Inc. and The Progressive Corporation. Dr. Nettles also serves on the board of directors of Optiwind Corp, a privately-held company, and has previously served on the board of directors of Apptrigger, Inc., formerly known as Carrius Technologies, Inc.
Gary Smith	Mr. Gary B. Smith is President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of Ciena Corp. Mr. Smith joined Ciena in 1997 and has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since May 2001. Mr. Frodsham serves on the board of directors of Innovance Networks.
Francois Locoh-Donou	Mr. Francois Locoh-Donou is Senior Vice President - Global Products Group of Ciena Corp., since August 2011. In this capacity, Mr. Locoh-Donou leads Ciena’s engineering, supply chain, product line management, quality/customer advocacy and solutions interpretation organizations on a global basis. Mr. Locoh-Donou joined Ciena in August 2002 and served as Ciena’s Vice President and General Manager, EMEA from June 2005 to August 2011.

Lawton Fitt	Ms. Lawton Wehle Fitt is Independent Director of Ciena Corp., since November 2000. From October 2002 to March 2005, Ms. Fitt served as Director of the Royal Academy of Arts in London. From 1979 to October 2002, Ms. Fitt was an investment banker with Goldman Sachs & Co., where she was a partner from 1994 to October 2002, and a managing director from 1996 to October 2002.
