Beuving, Cornelis
Cornelis Johannes (Kees) Beuving serves as Non-Executive Director of Direct Wonen. He has joined the Group in 2007 after serving for 12 years on the Executive Board (the last four which as Chairperson) of Fortis Bank Netherlands, one of the leading banks in The Netherlands. In his capacity there, Kees was responsible for all activities in The Netherlands and internationally including internal audit, the retail sector, direct banking, and investor relations as well as liaising with the Dutch Central Bank and financial regulators. Kees brings over 30 years experience in the banking world with him to the Group. Kees chairs the Audit Committee.
Duijvestijn, Jan-Peter
Jan-Peter Duijvestijn serves as Chief Financial Officer, Director of Direct Wonen. He has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer with effect from 1st August 2008. Jan-Peter has considerable experience within listed companies (Smit International NV as a member of the Strategic Committee and Royal Dutch Shell Group in various senior Finance positions both internationally as well as in the Netherlands). In addition to his responsibilities as CFO, he is responsible for the Group’s investor relations activities.
El Sayed, Ihab
Ihab El Sayed serves as Chief Operational Officer, Director of Direct Wonen. El Sayed has been involved in Direct Wonen since early 2005. He is responsible for the Financial Services activities as Chief Operations Officer. Ihab worked within the financial services sector for more than 15 years - firstly as a chartered accountant at Coopers & Lybrand, and then at De Nederlandsche Bank NV as senior supervisor. In 1999, Ihab was one of the team responsible for the founding of DSB bank NV. His last position before joining the Executive Board of Direct Wonen was as financial director of DSB Beheer.
Hart, Terence
Terence Alan Hart serves as Non-Executive Director of Direct Wonen. He is a Chartered Accountant. His career has spanned acting as Finance Director of Serco Aviation and latterly Easynet Group plc as Finance Director and Managing Director of the UK business. Terry managed Easynet through a period of growth and transformation, including the launch of UK Online broadband, culminating in the sale of the business to BSkyB. Terry chaired the Remuneration Committee. Terry has submitted his resignation as per 31-st of December 2008. The Board wishes to thank Terry for his great effort and services to the company in particular relating to the IPO and wish him every success.
Swaans, Yvonne
Yvonne Swaans serves as Chief Executive Officer of Direct Wonen. She set up Direct Wonen together with Richard Westerhuis and has worked with great intensity on developing the company activities. Yvonne is focused on the lettings activities together with working on HRM, staff development and communication within the organization. In 2005, Yvonne Swaans was proud to receive the prestigious Prix Veuve Cliquot Businesswoman of the Year award.
Westerhuis, Richard
Richard Westerhuis serves as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Direct Wonen. He set up Direct Wonen together with Yvonne Swaans and expanded it to become the successful business it is today. Richard focuses on new developments within the business and the application and expansion of the online activities. Thanks to his experience, the company has been able to go through many growth paths. The company’s first internet activities go back to 1995, mainly thanks to Richard’s contribution.
