Name Description

James Kirsch

Mr. James F. Kirsch has been appointed as Executive Chairman of the Board of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc., effective November 18, 2013. Currently retired. Mr. Kirsch previously served as chairman, president and CEO of Ferro Corporation, or Ferro, a global supplier of technology-based materials for a broad range of manufacturers, until November 2012. Mr. Kirsch was elected chairman of Ferro’s board of directors in December 2006 and appointed CEO and a director of Ferro in November 2005. Mr. Kirsch joined Ferro in October 2004 as its president and chief operating officer. Prior to joining Ferro from 2002 through 2004, Mr. Kirsch served as president of Premix Inc. and Quantum Composites, Inc., manufacturers of thermoset molding compounds, parts and subassemblies for the automotive, aerospace, electrical and HVAC industries. From 2000 through 2002, he served as president and director of Ballard Generation Systems, a company engaged in the design, development, manufacture and sale of clean energy fuel cell products, and vice president for Ballard Power Systems in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.

Gary Halverson

Mr. Gary B. Halverson has been appointed as President, Chief Executive Officer, Director of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc., effective February 14, 2014. Mr. Halverson's experience spans across the gold, copper, and nickel mining industries. Prior to joining Cliffs in 2013, he provided leadership for the largest gold region in the world at Barrick Gold Corporation Inc. He has experience managing large annual operating budgets and capital projects. At an operational level, he has been successful in optimizing well run mines, objectively assessing troubled operations and executing projects on-time and on budget. Many of the projects he has led included complex tailings and water management issues. These experiences include a wide range of underground and open-pit mines from the construction and development phases through the end-of-life stage. Mr. Halverson received his Master of Business Administration from Athabasca University and a Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering from Michigan Technological University. He is an active member of mining industry and engineering associations, including the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario, Canadian Institute of Mining/Metallurgy (CIM), National Mining Association and the Nevada Mining Association.

Terrance Paradie

Mr. Terrance M. Paradie is Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. He has been Senior Vice President (Jan. 2011-present); Chief Financial Officer (Oct. 2012-present); Assistant General Manager-Michigan Operations (March 2012-Sept. 2012); Corporate Controller (Oct. 2007-March 2012); Chief Accounting Officer (July 2009-March 2012); and Vice President (Oct. 2007-Jan. 2011).

P. Kelly Tompkins

Mr. P. Kelly Tompkins is Executive Vice President - External Affairs & President - Global Commercial of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. Mr. Tompkins was appointed chief administrative officer for the Company in July 2013 with executive responsibility for the organization's varied global administrative management functions. These functions support both mining operations and the corporate office with respect to critical business, reputational and risk issues as well as legal and regulatory compliance. Specifically, Mr. Tompkins oversees strategy and business development, public and government affairs, legal and environmental affairs as well as risk and internal audit. In addition, he has established relationships with the Company's investment community. Mr. Tompkins joined Cliffs in May 2010, having previously been executive vice president and chief financial officer for RPM International Inc., a NYSE-listed, global specialty chemical company. Prior to becoming RPM's chief financial officer, Mr. Tompkins served as RPM's chief administrative officer and previously as its general counsel. Before joining RPM in 1996, he held various legal and management positions with Cleveland-based Reliance Electric Company and Exxon Corporation in Houston, Texas including product marketing, business development, and investor relations. Mr. Tompkins currently is currently engaged with a number of organizations in Northeast Ohio and a member of many not-for-profit boards.

Terrence Mee

Mr. Terrence R. Mee is Senior Vice President - Global Iron Ore and Metallic Sales of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. From September 2007 to January 2011, Mr. Mee served as Vice President, Sales and Transportation for the North American business unit and as General Manager — Sales and Traffic from August 2003 to September 2007.

David Webb

Mr. David Webb is Senior Vice President - Global Coal of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. Prior to joining Cliffs, Mr. Webb served as Vice President and General Manager of Mid-West Operations for Patriot Coal Corp., a producer of thermal and metallurgical coal, from 2007 to June 2011. Mr. Webb also previously served in director-level positions for Peabody Energy and Freeman United Corp., both coal companies. He received a Bachelor of Science, Mining Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla. He serves on the Illinois State Mining Board and as first vice chairman of the Kentucky Coal Association. He serves as a development board member at the Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Timothy Flanagan

Mr. Timothy K. Flanagan is Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer, Corporate Controller of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. He has served as Assistant Controller (Feb. 2010-March 2012); Director, Internal Audit (April 2008-Feb. 2010); and Senior Manager for Protiviti, a global consulting firm specializing in business and risk consulting and internal audit (May 2003-April 2008).

Carolyn Cheverine

Ms. Carolyn E. Cheverine is Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. She has served as Vice President and General Counsel (Jan. 2013-present); Secretary (Oct. 2011-present); General Counsel-Corporate Affairs (Oct. 2011-Jan. 2013); and Senior Counsel of The Lubrizol Corporation, a lubricant additives and specialty chemicals manufacturer (2002-Oct. 2011).

Raga Elim

Mr. Raga Elim has served as Vice President - Government and Public Affairs at Cliffs Natural Resources Inc since July 1, 2013. In 2011, Mr. Elim joined the Company as Director of Global Government Relations after serving as Head of Rio Tinto's Washington, DC government affairs office. He has held numerous positions at the state level in Alaska and Washington and worked at the federal level in Washington, DC. In addition, Mr. Elim has also served as a speechwriter at the last four Presidential Election Conventions for one of the political parties.

Mr. Mark E. Gaumond is Director of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. Mr. Gaumond has functioned as the lead partner on many key accounts, and held senior management positions within two accounting firms over the course of his career. In 1976, Mr. Gaumond joined Arthur Andersen in New York and was named a Partner in 1986. Over his 27 years with Andersen, Mr. Gaumond was a coordinating partner on Fortune 500 clients. He also served as the Managing Partner of Andersen's Stamford office for eight years. In 2002, Mr. Gaumond joined Ernst & Young's New York office. He was appointed Americas Senior Vice Chair in 2006 where he oversaw all revenue generating activities for the Americas. Previously, Mr. Gaumond worked with several multinational clients and served as the Managing Partner of Ernst & Young's San Francisco Office. He was a member of Ernst & Young's Americas Executive Board and served on the Ernst & Young Partner Advisory Council. He also was Senior Advisory Partner for several of the firm's clients. Mr. Gaumond received a Master of Business Administration from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business, New York University. He received his A.B. in Government from Georgetown University. Currently, he serves as director for Booz Allen Hamilton and Rayonier, Inc. He is a former trustee of the California Academy of Sciences.

Susan Cunningham

Ms. Susan M. Cunningham is no longer serve an Independent Director of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc., effective July 29, 2014. She has been Senior Vice President of Exploration and Business Innovation of Noble Energy Inc., an international oil and gas exploration and production company, since May 2007. Ms. Cunningham served as senior vice president of Exploration and Corporate Reserves of Noble Energy Inc. from 2005 to May 2007.

Barry Eldridge

Mr. Barry J. Eldridge is Independent Director of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. He is currently retired. Mr. Eldridge previously served as the managing director and chief executive officer of Portman Limited, an international iron ore mining company in Australia, from October 2002 through April 2005. Mr. Eldridge formerly served as chairman of Vulcan Resources Ltd. from 2005 to 2008 and, chairman of Millennium Mining Pty. Ltd. from 2007 to 2008. Mr. Eldridge is currently the chairman of Mundo Minerals Limited. In addition, he serves as a director of Sundance Resources Ltd. All of these companies are or were listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.

Andres Gluski Weilert

Dr. Andres Ricardo Gluski Weilert is no longer serve as an Independent Director of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc., effective July 29, 2014. He has been President and Chief Executive Officer of The AES Corporation, or AES, one of the independent power producers with operations in 26 countries. Dr. Gluski served as senior vice president, Caribbean and Central America of AES from 2003 to 2006, executive vice president and regional president, Latin America of AES from 2006 to 2007 and as executive vice president and chief operating officer of AES from 2007 to 2011. Dr. Gluski currently is also chairman for AES Gener S. A. and AES Brasiliana. Previously, Dr. Gluski worked with the International Monetary Fund and served as director general of the Ministry of Finance and senior economic policy advisor to the Minister of Planning in Venezuela.

Susan Green

Ms. Susan M.Green is Independent Director of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. She has been Deputy General Counsel, U.S. Congressional Office of Compliance since November 2007. Ms. Green served as aide to Council member Nancy Floreen, Montgomery County, Maryland from December 2002 to August 2005. Ms. Green originally was proposed as a nominee for the Board by the United Steelworkers, or USW, pursuant to the terms of the company's 2004 labor agreement. Ms. Green has served as both a labor organizer and as an attorney representing organized labor. She also has worked in government both as a member of former Massachusetts’ Senator Edward M. Kennedy’s staff and as a member of the U.S. Department of Labor during the Clinton administration.

Janice Henry

Ms. Janice K. Henry is Independent Director of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. Currently retired. Ms. Henry previously served as senior vice president from 1998 through June 2006, chief financial officer from 1994 to June 2005 and treasurer from 2002 to March 2006 of Martin Marietta Materials, Inc., or Martin Marietta, a producer of construction aggregates serving the public infrastructure, commercial and residential construction markets in the United States. Ms. Henry served in a consulting capacity for Martin Marietta from July 2006 through June 2009. Ms. Henry was a director of North American Galvanizing & Coatings, Inc. from February 2008 through August 2010. In January 2012, Ms. Henry became a director of W.R. Grace & Co., a global specialty chemicals and materials company, and serves on its audit and compensation committees. Since October 2009, Ms. Henry has been a member of The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc., a nonprofit corporation, which engages in activities that contribute to the support and advancement of scientific research, technology and development.

Stephen Johnson

Mr. Stephen Marcum Johnson has been appointed as Independent Director of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc., effective October 1, 2013. Mr. Johnson began his engineering career in the construction industry when he joined Fluor Corporation, an international engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance (EPCM), and project management firm in 1973. He spent nearly a decade working on oil and gas projects in various project management leadership roles. By 1989, Mr. Johnson was appointed director of project operations whereby he was responsible for overseeing several international projects in the energy, chemicals, and commercial construction sectors. In 2001, Mr. Johnson joined Washington Group International as senior executive vice president and had oversight for six business units. He worked closely with the company’s board of directors on business development and strategic issues. He was instrumental in turning around the business that was eventually sold. In early 2009, Mr. Johnson joined McDermott International, Inc. as its president and chief operating officer. In 2010, he was promoted to his current role as president and executive officer, and assumed the chairman of the Board role in May 2011. In 2010, the company spun off Babcock & Wilcox to its shareholders. Today, Mr. Johnson leads the $3.6 billion engineering, procurement, construction and marine installation business that is focused on executing complex offshore oil and gas projects worldwide. McDermott International, Inc. operates in 20 countries with 14,000 employees. Mr. Johnson received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Texas A&M University. He previously served as Chairman of the Engineering & Construction Industry Risk Institute (ECRI). ECRI is an international industry group focused on the management of risk on capital projects.

Richard Riederer

Mr. Richard K. Riederer is Independent Director of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. He is Chief Executive Officer of RKR Asset Management, a consulting organization, since June 2006. Mr. Riederer served as president and CEO from January 1996 through February 2001 of Weirton Steel Corporation, a North American steel producing company. Mr. Riederer has been a director of First American Funds since September 2001. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Timothy Sullivan

Mr. Timothy W. Sullivan has been appointed as the Independent Director of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc., effective January 14, 2013. Mr. Sullivan began his business career in the mining industry when he joined Bucyrus, a global designer and manufacturer of mining equipment, in 1976 where he spent 19 years in positions of increasing managerial responsibility for the company. He was named vice president of sales and marketing in 1995. Mr. Sullivan was later promoted to executive vice president before pursuing an opportunity outside of Bucyrus when in 1999 he joined United Container as president and chief executive officer. Within a year he was recruited back to Bucyrus as president, a position he held from 2000 to 2004. In 2004, Mr. Sullivan was named president, chief executive officer and a director of the company, a role he held until 2011 when Bucyrus was acquired. Mr. Sullivan recently joined CCMP Capital Advisors LLC in 2012, a private equity firm specializing in buyouts and growth equity transactions in upper and middle market companies after a 34 year career with Bucyrus International Inc. Mr. Sullivan received a Master of Business Administration from American University and a Bachelor of Science from Carroll University. Currently, he serves as director for several companies including Generac Holdings Inc., Aurora Health Care Inc., and The Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. Currently, he is a special consultant to the Wisconsin Governor and also the chairman of the Wisconsin Governor’s Council for Workforce Investment, Council for College and Workforce Readiness. He is a past director for the National Mining Association.
