Hennessy, John Mr. John Hennessy is Chief Executive Officer - European Operations of CNA Financial Corporation. Mr. Hennessy joined CNA in 1982 as an underwriting trainee and assumed increasing responsibilities. During his 27-year career with CNA, he has served in multiple Home Office and Field leadership roles, including: Milwaukee branch manager; Central Region president; senior vice president for Casualty Underwriting and Middle Market; and, most recently, senior vice president of Distribution Management.

Owcar, Gary Mr. Gary Owcar has been appointed as President and Chief Operating Officer of CNA Canada of CNA Financial Corporation effective September 14, 2009. Mr. Owcar’s insurance career began right after college. He spent seven years progressing through the claims ranks into supervisory roles for three East Coast insurance companies. In 1980, he joined The Chubb Corporation as a Regional Property Claims supervisor. For the next 19 years, he was responsible for international assignments in Brazil and Asia. During this time, he extended his leadership reach beyond the claim function to running multinational operations. Among his many accomplishments, he grew Chubb’s Asia Pacific operations from four small offices to a cohesive zone of 13 offices in 10 countries with a highly diverse, integrated team. Mr. Owcar joined CNA in 1999 to lead its global operations, and his responsibilities expanded to include all of standard commercial lines. In 2006, he went on to pursue two start-up ventures in consulting and training.
