Name Description
Simmonds, John Mr. John Simmonds has been appointed as Director and Chairman of the Board of Copernic Inc. Mr. Simmonds is a well-known entrepreneur and investor residing in Toronto, Canada. Mr. Simmonds began his career with A.C. Simmonds & Sons Limited, a company founded by his grandfather in 1918. In 1979 Mr. Simmonds developed the Midland brand and then sold it to Glenayre Electronics in 1987. During 1988, Mr. Simmonds operated Glenayre Electronics and a year later sold two thirds of the company in 1989 at a value of over $100M. In December 1989, Mr. Simmonds acquired Cherry Downs Golf Course which was later sold into a Public Shell and became Clublink Corporation which today is the largest golf course operation in Canada. In 1993, Mr. Simmonds acquired Midland USA for $8.3M in cash which was sold to Intek and then to Securicor Communications in 1996 at a value of over $250M. In 2003, Mr. Simmonds acquired Wireless Age Communications, a Company with retail outlets in Western Canada. Concurrent with the acquisition, Mr. Simmonds was appointed Chairman and CEO. During his career, Mr. Simmonds has served as Chairman and Director of numerous public companies and has had extensive experience in building teams and operating companies.
Ferland, Marc Mr. Marc Ferland serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Copernic Inc. He assumed the additional responsibilities of Chief Financial Officer on an interim basis on September 8, 2008. Mr. Ferland is acting CFO until March 31, 2009. Mr. Ferland was formerly Vice President of Rogers Communications and was integral in the launch of Canada's second mobile phone network in 1984. He has also served as Executive Vice President of a national paging carrier and Vice President of Microcell Telecom, commonly known as Fido. Mr. Ferland is currently President of Digifax Communications and Gen24 Capital, which provides business plan development, capitalization and strategic planning services to technology companies in Canada and India. As Vice President and Senior Partner of CDP Capital (the investment arm of La Caisse de Depots et Placements du Quebec), he managed venture investments in a portfolio of 50 technology companies in North America and Europe and served on the Board of Directors of many development stage companies in telecom and information technology. Mr. Ferland has earned an economics degree with honors from the University of Montreal and has participated in Harvard's executive development program.
Fournier, Jean-Rock Mr. Jean-Rock Fournier has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President of Copernic Inc. with effect from November 13, 2009. He is Vice President - Finance of Copernic Inc. Mr. Fournier is a Chartered Accountant since 2000, practiced public accounting with KPMG, and has been Vice President Finance with Axion Technologies and PGI, both companies in the Information Technology sector.

Yelin, Lawrence Mr. Lawrence Yelin serves as Director of Copernic Inc. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, McGill University and is presently a Senior Partner of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin, LLP, a national Canadian law firm. He has been practicing law for nearly forty years, principally in the areas of corporate, finance and real estate law. In addition to his work as an attorney, Mr. Yelin has been a director of both public and private companies. He has been active in community affairs and presently sits on the Research Ethics Board of the Douglas Hospital. Mr. Yelin currently resides in Montreal.
