Name Description

James Quandt

Mr. James R. Quandt is Chairman of the Board of Demand Media Inc. Mr. Quandt is currently the Chairman of the Board, chair of our audit committee and a member of our compensation committee. Mr. Quandt is the co-founder of Thomas James Capital, Inc., a private equity firm that also provides financial advisory services, where he has served as Managing Partner since 2005. Mr. Quandt has previously served as President of Standard and Poor's Corporation, a provider of independent credit risk research and benchmarks; Chairman of Bridge Financial Information; and President of Security Pacific Brokerage, Inc. Mr. Quandt has served on a number of public and private company boards, and he is currently the Chairman of the Board of The FRS Company and a member of the board of Brain Corporation. He has previously served on the boards of Intermix Media, Inc., an Internet marketing company that owned MySpace, Inc., Blue Label Interactive, Inc., and Digital Orchid Incorporated, and was a member of the Board of Trustees of Saint Mary's College of California. Mr. Quandt participated in the Managerial Policy Institute at the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business, and received a B.S. in Business Administration from Saint Mary's College. Mr. Quandt's mix of executive leadership and financial expertise, as well as his experience as a former member of the New York Stock Exchange, provides our Board and its committees with valuable insight and guidance with respect to the lines of business in which we operate. Mr. Quandt brings a seasoned and strategic perspective rooted in his role as a board member of various public and private companies in the Internet and technology sectors.

Sean Moriarty

Mr. Sean P. Moriarty is Chief Executive Officer, Director of the Company. A seasoned executive, Mr. Moriarty served as the Chief Executive Officer of Saatchi Online since August 2013. Mr. Moriarty sits on several private company boards of directors, including Metacloud where he serves as Chairman, TuneIn and Eventbrite. From August 2009 to June 2012, he was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Mayfield Fund. From January 2007 to March 2009, Mr. Moriarty was President and Chief Executive Officer of Ticketmaster, where he was also formerly a member of the board of directors. Mr. Moriarty received his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and attended graduate school at Boston University and the University of South Carolina.

Rachel Glaser

Ms. Rachel C. Glaser has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Ms. Glaser has served as Chief Financial Officer of Move, Inc., an online network of websites for real estate search, finance, and moving and home enthusiasts, since 2012. From April 2008 to November 2011, Ms. Glaser served as Chief Operating and Financial Officer of MyLife.com, a subscription-based people search business, and from May 2005 to April 2008, she was the Senior Vice President of Finance at Yahoo! Inc., a global internet services provider. Between 1986 and 2005, Ms. Glaser held finance and operations positions of increasing responsibility at The Walt Disney Company, a media and entertainment company, and was Vice President of Operations and Business Planning for the Consumer Products group at the time of her departure. From August 2010 to July 2014, Ms. Glaser served on the board of directors of Sport Chalet, Inc., a full service specialty retailer, and as a member of its Audit Committee and Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee. Ms. Glaser received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California at Berkeley and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

Brian Pike

Mr. Brian Pike is Chief Operating Officer of the Company. Mr. Pike has served as the Company’s Chief Technology Officer since October 2014. From April 2012 to October 2014, Mr. Pike was Chief Technology Officer at The Rubicon Project, Inc., an advertising technology company that automates the buying and selling of digital advertising, where he led the engineering organization through rapid growth and the company’s initial public offering. Prior to joining The Rubicon Project, Mr. Pike served as the Chief Technology Officer at Ticketmaster, Inc., a live entertainment ticketing and marketing company, from 2003 to 2010. Mr. Pike received a B.S. in Engineering from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA.

Tawn Albright

Mr. Tawn Albright has been named Executive Vice President - Corporate Development of Demand Media, Inc. Prior to joining Demand Media, Albright was CEO and founding partner of the award-winning digital marketing agency, Rockhouse Partners. Following the sale of Rockhouse to Etix, Albright served as Executive Vice President for Etix, leading the integration of the two companies. Albright has more than twenty years of experience managing growth initiatives for companies that include Ticketmaster/IAC, The Coca-Cola Company and Cox Communications.

Daniel Weinrot

Mr. Daniel Weinrot is the Executive Vice President, Legal and General Counsel, of the company since October 2014. In his current role, Mr. Weinrot oversees and manages our legal, risk management and compliance matters. Prior to his current role, Mr. Weinrot served as our Senior Vice President, Legal from February 2014 to October 2014; Vice President and Assistant General Counsel from May 2012 to February 2014; and Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs from June 2010 to May 2012. Prior to joining Demand Media, Mr. Weinrot held various legal positions at Las Vegas Sands Corp., a global developer of integrated resorts, from 2006 to 2010, including Vice President and Deputy General Counsel from September 2009 to June 2010, and he practiced corporate law at Latham & Watkins LLP, a leading global law firm, from 2000 to 2006. Mr. Weinrot received a J.D. from UCLA School of Law and a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley.

Peter Kim

Mr. Peter Kim is Senior Vice President - Accounting of the Company. He is no longer Interim Principal Financial Officer of the Company, He is the Company’s Senior Vice President, Accounting and interim Chief Accounting Officer. Mr. Kim joined Demand Media in July 2013 as Senior Vice President, Accounting and became interim Chief Accounting Officer in March 2015. In his current role, Mr. Kim oversees and manages the Company’s accounting, finance and tax functions, which includes accounting operations and policy, financial controls and reporting. Mr. Kim was also integral to the Company’s tax-free spin-off of its domain name services business in August 2014. Prior to joining Demand Media, Mr. Kim was the Corporate Controller at RealD Inc., a global licensor of stereoscopic 3D technologies, from 2010 to 2013, where he played a critical role in RealD’s initial and secondary public offerings. From 2003 to 2010, Mr. Kim was Vice President, Reporting for Entravision Communications Inc, a diversified Spanish-language media company. Prior to that, Mr. Kim worked at the Walt Disney Company and a boutique public accounting firm. Mr. Kim holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Los Angeles in Economics.

Wendy Voong

Ms. Wendy Voong is Chief Accounting Officer of Demand Media, Inc. She currently serves as the Company’s Chief Accounting Officer. Between November 2012 and July 2015, Ms. Voong held various accounting and reporting positions of increasing responsibility with Activision Blizzard Inc., a global developer and publisher of interactive entertainment, where she was responsible for SEC reporting and technical accounting matters. Ms. Voong most recently served as Activision’s Senior Director, North America Accounting and Reporting, where she oversaw the accounting and reporting functions for Activision’s North America transactional and studio accounting groups. Prior to joining Activision, Ms. Voong held various positions in the audit practice of Ernst & Young, LLP from 2000 to 2012, serving a wide variety of private and public companies, while specializing in the technology industry. Ms. Voong received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, Fullerton, and a master’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Notre Dame. Ms. Voong is a Certified Public Accountant.

Fredric Harman

Mr. Fredric W. Harman is Independent Director of Demand Media Inc. has served on our Board since 2006. Mr. Harman joined Oak Investment Partners, a multi-stage venture capital firm, as a General Partner in 1994, and currently serves as Managing Partner, focusing primarily on Consumer Internet and Internet New Media investments. He currently serves on the boards of Limelight Networks, Inc., a leader in digital presence management, and U.S. Auto Parts Network, Inc., an online provider of aftermarket auto parts, as well as a number of private technology companies. Mr. Harman holds an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Mr. Harman was originally nominated to serve on our Board pursuant to our Third Amended and Restated Stockholders' Agreement. Mr. Harman's industry and financial expertise makes him a valuable contributor to our Board and its committees. Mr. Harman's extensive experience serving on the boards of numerous public and private companies, combined with his considerable involvement with venture capital backed companies, principally those in the Internet and technology sectors, strengthen the knowledge base and oversight of our Board.

John Hawkins

Mr. John A. Hawkins is Independent Director of Demand Media Inc. He has served on our Board since 2006. Mr. Hawkins has served as Managing Partner and co-founder of Generation Partners, a private equity firm that provides capital to companies in the business and information services, media and communications, and healthcare services industries, through growth equity and buyout investments, since 1995. Prior to founding Generation Partners, Mr. Hawkins was a General Partner at Burr, Egan, Deleage & Co., a venture capital firm that he joined in 1987. Prior to that, Mr. Hawkins was an investment banker at Alex, Brown & Sons. Mr. Hawkins currently serves on the boards of Captivate Network, a digital place based media company, and Agility Recovery Solutions, Inc., and he has served on the boards of more than 20 companies, including HotJobs.com, Ltd., iCrossing, Inc., P-Com, Inc., the Platform for Media, Inc., High End Systems, Inc. and ShopWiki Corporation, where he also served as Chairman. Mr. Hawkins is also a member of the Angeleno Chapter of the World Presidents' Organization. Mr. Hawkins holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in English from Harvard College. Mr. Hawkins was originally nominated to serve on our Board pursuant to our Third Amended and Restated Stockholders' Agreement. Mr. Hawkins has over 25 years of investment banking and private equity investing experience, combined with a strong track record investing in technology, media and business services companies. He brings extensive business and strategic expertise, as well as experience serving on numerous public and private boards, to our Board and its committees.

Victor Parker

Mr. Victor E. Parker is Independent Director of Demand Media Inc. Mr. Parker has served on our Board since 2006. Mr. Parker is a Managing Director at Spectrum Equity Investors, a private equity firm focused primarily on media and information services which he joined in September 1998. He was previously an associate at Summit Partners, L.P., a private equity firm focusing on the technology, healthcare and life sciences, and growth products and services sectors. Mr. Parker currently serves on the boards of Lynda.com and Ancestry.com, Inc. He has previously served on the boards of SurveyMonkey.com, LLC, NetQuote, Inc., Interbank FX, LLC and NetScreen Technologies, Inc. He holds an M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. Mr. Parker was originally nominated to serve on our Board pursuant to our Third Amended and Restated Stockholders' Agreement. Mr. Parker's financial expertise, combined with his experience with venture capital backed technology and Internet companies, provides our Board with a valuable perspective for important business, financial and strategic initiatives. Mr. Parker's experience serving on the boards and board committees of various public and private companies brings practical business and financial leadership to our Board and provides him with increased knowledge of effective corporate governance that benefits our Board.

Brian Regan

Mr. Brian M. Regan is Independent Director of Company. As a Class I director, Mr. Regan will be up for re-election at the Company’s annual meeting to be held in 2017. Mr. Regan will also serve as the Chairman of the Audit Committee and as a member of the Compensation Committee. James Quandt will continue to serve as a member of the Audit Committee following Mr. Regan’s appointment as Chairman of the Audit Committee. Mr. Regan has more than 19 years of finance experience at several Internet-based companies. He currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Shutterfly, Inc., a manufacturer and digital retailer of personalized products and services, where he is responsible for managing all aspects of Shutterfly’s financial activities, including strategic planning, financial planning and analysis and investor relations. Prior to joining Shutterfly in August 2012, Mr. Regan served as the Chief Financial Officer of Wize Commerce/Nextag, a global digital marketing and online commerce company, and as EVP and Chief Financial Officer of Ticketmaster Entertainment, a live entertainment ticketing and artist management company. Mr. Regan has also held finance leadership positions at Expedia, Inc. and LendingTree. Mr. Regan began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers and he holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Accounting from Bucknell University.
