Denis Ranque |
Mr. Denis Ranque has been Chairman of the Board of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV since April 2, 2013. He began his career at the French Ministry for Industry, where he held various positions in the energy sector, before joining the Thomson group in 1983 as Planning Director. The following year, he moved to the electron tubes division, first as Director of space business, then, from 1986, as Director of the division's microwave tubes department. Two years later, the electron tubes division became the affiliate Thomson Tubes Electroniques, and Mr.Ranque took over as Chief Executive of this subsidiary in 1989. In April 1992, he was appointed Chairman and CEO of Thomson Sintra Activites Sous-marines. Four years later, he became CEO of Thomson Marconi Sonar, the sonar systems joint venture set up by Thomson-CSF and GEC-Marconi. In January 1998, Mr. Ranque was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Thomson-CSF group, now called Thales. He resigned from this position in May 2009, as a consequence of a change in shareholding. From February 2010 to June 2012 he was Non-Executive Chairman of Technicolor. Since October 2001, he has also been Chairman of the Board of the Ecole des Mines ParisTech, and since September 2002, Chairman of the Cercle de l'Industrie; both mandates ended in June 2012. He is a graduate of France's Ecole Polytechnique and the Corps des Mines. He is also Chairman of Scilab Entreprise and Director of Saint Gobain. |
Thomas Enders |
Dr. Thomas Enders is Chief Executive Officer, Member of the Executive Committee and Executive Director of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV as of May 31, 2012. He previously served as the Head of Airbus from August 2007. He studied Economics, Political Science and History at the University of Bonn and at the University of California in Los Angeles. Prior to joining the aerospace industry in 1991 (Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm), he worked, inter alia, as a Member of the “Planungsstab” of the German Minister of Defence. At MBB and subsequently DASA he held various positions, including Chief of Staff, Director Corporate Development & Technology, and Head of Defence Systems. Following the creation of the Company in 2000, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the EADS Defence and Security Systems Division, holding this position until 2005 when he was appointed co-CEO of the Company. Harald Wilhelm |
Mr. Harald Wilhelm is Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Member of the Executive Committee of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV and Airbus since June 1, 2012. Previously Mr. Wilhelm was Airbus’ Chief Controlling Officer and deputy to the Chief Financial Officer, a position he held since 1st January 2007. Prior to this, Mr. Wilhelm was Senior Vice President, Airbus Financial Control, a role he held since 2003. Mr. Wilhelm joined Airbus in 2000 as Senior Vice President, Accounting, Tax and Financial Services. Jean Botti |
Dr. Jean J. Botti is Member of the Executive Committee since 2006 and Chief Technical Officer of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV since May 1, 2006. In addition, he currently serves as President of the Fondation d’Entreprise EADS. Mr. Botti began his professional career in 1978 at Renault. He joined General Motors in the United States during 1989, working in the area of Chassis Engineering. From 1992 until 1997, Botti returned to France as General Motors’ Director of European Engineering, and was then named Director of the Customer Solution Center – a position he continued to hold with the Delphi Corporation until 2002. From 2002 to 2004, he managed the corporate Dynamics, Propulsion and Thermal Innovation Center as the Chief Technologist. He finished at Delphi as Business Line Executive for the Powertrain Business. Mr. Botti graduated from the Institut National des Sciences Appliquées of Toulouse in 1986 with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He also earned a Masters of Business Administration from Central Michigan University in 1991, and went on to earn a Doctorate in Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, Paris in 1995. In 1991, Mr. Botti completed a Management of Research and Development course at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He was awarded an honorary Doctorate from the University of Cardiff, UK in 2012, and received an honorary Doctorate from the University of Bath, United Kingdom in 2010. Mr. Botti also is Member of the French Academie des Technologies. Mr. Botti was honored with the General Motors President Council Award in 1998, and is Fellow of the Society of Automotive Engineers. In addition, Mr. Botti is a member of various engineering and technology societies and the Centre National Recherche Technologique (CNRT) in Belfort, France. |
Marwan Lahoud |
Mr. Marwan Lahoud is Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer and Member of the Executive Committee of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV since June 2007. He had run MBDA as Chief Executive Officer since January 2003. He began his career at the French Defence procurement agency DGA (Délégation générale pour l’armement) in 1989 at the Landes test range. In 1994, he was appointed Special Advisor to the Tactical Missile Systems Engineering Division. Then he took on a new role as Deputy Director Missiles and Space Systems. In early 1995, He was appointed Special Advisor to the French Ministry of Defence. At the end of 1995, he moved to serve as Advisor for Industrial Affairs, Research and Weapons, where he was responsible for the industrial consolidation programmes rolled out in February 1996. In 1997, he served as Special Advisor to the Human Resources Division at DGA. In May, he joined Aerospatiale as Vice President Development where he was responsible for negotiating agreements with Groupe Lagardère for the Aerospatiale-Matra Hautes Technologies merger. He also served as Secretary General of the Aerospatiale-Matra Hautes Technologies committee. In June 1999, he was appointed Senior Vice President Strategy and Planning for Aerospatiale Matra, where he also served as Senior Vice President Military Affairs. After the foundation of EADS in 2000, he was appointed Senior Vice President Mergers & Acquisitions. During his tenure, he oversaw the creation of Airbus, MBDA, Astrium and EDSN. Thierry Baril |
Mr. Thierry Baril is Chief Human Resources Officer of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV and Airbus and Member of the Executive Committee since June 1, 2012. He joined Airbus in 2007 as Executive Vice President, Human Resources, and Member of the Airbus Executive Committee. Prior to this, Mr. Baril was Executive Vice President Human Resources at Eurocopter and member of the Eurocopter Executive Committee since January 2003. Mr. Baril started working for Boccard SA in 1988 as deputy to the Human Resources Director and transferred to Laborde & Kupfer-Repelec, a subsidiary of GEC ALSTHOM, as Human Resources Manager in 1991. From there, Mr. Baril moved on to Alstom Energy where he successively held the position of Human Resources Director of the company’s Belfort site from 1995 and then that of Vice President Human Resources of Alstom Energy Group. Following on from his experience in Alstom Energy, Mr. Baril then became Managing Director Europe, Human Resources for GE (General Electric) at their Belfort Headquarters in 1998 and from December 2000 he was Vice President Human Resources of Alcatel Space at their headquarters in Toulouse. Mr. Baril holds a University Degree in Personnel Management (Diplôme Universitaire de Technologie en Gestion des Entreprises et des Administrations) as well as a Business Degree in Human Resources Management and Development obtained at the Institut de Gestion Sociale (IGS) in Paris in 1988. |
Francois Auque |
Mr. Francois Auque is Chief Executive Officer of Astrium and Member of the Executive Committee of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV since 2005. Prior to assuming this position, from 1999 onwards Mr. Auque served as Chief Financial Officer and Group Managing Director of the Space Division of Aerospatiale Matra, one of the three EADS founding companies. He was also Member of the Management Board. Mr. Auque began his career in 1983 at the French government's audit agency, Cour des Comptes. He went on to work for the U.N.'s Board of Auditors, followed by a position as Vice President of Finance at Banque La Hénin and later Vice President of Finance and International Development at Credisuez, both of the Suez Group. In 1991, he joined Aerospatiale as Corporate Vice President of Finance and Economics and in 1998 became Corporate Executive Vice President where he was responsible for Finance and Strategy at Aerospatiale. Fabrice Bregier |
Mr. Fabrice Bregier is Member of the Executive Committee of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Airbus, a subsidiary of the Company, as of May 31, 2012. He previously served as the Chief Operating Officer of Airbus from November 2006. Prior to assuming this position he was the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Eurocopter since 2003 and became Member of the EADS Executive Committee as Head of the Company’s Eurocopter Division in June 2005. Mr. Bregier began his career in 1983 as test engineer at Creys-Malville nuclear power station and became sales manager at Pechiney (Japan) in 1984. He joined the DRIRE Alsace (Ministry of Industry) in 1986 before being appointed Director of economic and financial affairs with the Ministry of Agriculture in 1989. One year later, Mr. Bregier as Technical Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Trade was responsible for multilateral business affaires and became Technical Advisor to the Minister of Post and elecommunications, in charge of industrial and international affairs. In 1993, Mr. Bregier joined Matra Defense as Chairman of the Apache MAW GIE (co-operation with Dasa) and Chairman of the Eurodrone GIE (with STN-Atlas) before he was named in 1996 Director of Stand-Off activities (Apache, Scalp EG/Storm Shadow) in what had become Matra BAe Dynamics. From the beginning of 1998, Mr. Bregier served as CEO of Matra BAe Dynamics. He was appointed CEO of MBDA, the newly created European Missile Systems Company that was created in 2001 by Aerospatiale Matra, British Aerospace and Finmeccanica. Guenter Butschek |
Mr. Guenter Butschek is Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Airbus and Member of the Executive Committee of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV since June 1, 2012. Mr. Butschek joined Airbus in March 2011 as Head of Operations and Member of the Airbus Executive Committee. He also became Chairman of the Board of Management of Airbus in Germany (Airbus Operations GmbH) and keeps these responsibilities under his new COO leadership. Mr. Butschek began his professional career in 1984 at Mercedes-Benz AG in Stuttgart, Germany, as Project Engineer Central Material Management. After several positions in logistics, human resources and procurement in the Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars division, Mr. Butschek became Member of the Management Board of DaimlerChrysler South Africa (DCSA) in 2000 responsible for manufacturing. In 2002 Mr. Butschek moved to the Netherlands as President and Chief Executive Officer of Netherlands Car B.V. Guillaume Faury |
Mr. Guillaume Faury is the Chief Executive Officer of Eurocopter and a Member of the Executive Committee of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV, effective as of May 1, 2013. Mr. Faury, a licensed flight test engineer, served in various senior management functions at Eurocopter from 1998 to 2008 before joining Peugeot S.A. He was Chief Engineer for the EC225/ 725 program, Head of the Heavy Helicopter Flight Test department, Executive Vice President for Commercial Programs and, ultimately, Executive Vice President for Research & Development. Mr. Faury also was a member of the Eurocopter Executive Committee. He started his professional career with the French Defense Procurement Agency DGA, where he was in charge of Tiger helicopter flight test activities at the Istres Flight Test Centre. Mr. Faury holds an engineering degree from the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris as well as an aeronautics and engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale Superieure de l’Aeronautique et de l’Espace in Toulouse. |
Bernhard Gerwert |
Mr. Bernhard Gerwert is Chief Executive Officer of Cassidian and Member of the Executive Committee of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV as of September 2012. Prior to assuming this position, he served as Cassidian’s Chief Operating Officer from 2011. From 2007 to 2011, Mr. Gerwert held the position of CEO Cassidian Air Systems and was a member of the Board of Cassidian, formerly known as EADS Defence & Security Division. Mr. Gerwert began his career in 1979 as a planning engineer at Messerschmitt-Boelkow-Blohm GmbH (MBB). After having held different positions in Engineering, Product Support and Controlling at MBB, he became Vice President Finance & Controlling at Dasa Headquarters in 1990. From 1995 to 2000 he took on various leadership positions, at Dasa, Dornier and DaimlerChrysler Aerospace, including the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Defence and Civil Systems Division of DaimlerChrysler Aerospace as well as CFO of Dornier GmbH and member of the Board of Management from 1997 to 1999. In 2000, he became Vice President of Electronic Systems and was appointed to the Executive Committee of Defence Electronics & Telecommunications. In 2001, he became Senior Vice President of Integrated Sensor Systems and a member of the Executive Committee for Systems & Defence Electronics. Mr. Gerwert took over the role of Senior Vice President Air and Naval Defence and became a member of the Executive Committee of the Business Unit Defence & Communication Systems in 2004. In the same year, he became CEO & President of Defence Electronics and member of the Board of the EADS Defence & Security Division. In addition to this position, he was Corporate Vice President Marketing & International Sales from 2006. Mr. Gerwert studied electrical engineering at the University of Paderborn and industrial engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld in Germany. He holds degrees in both fields. |
John Leahy |
Mr. John Leahy is Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Customers Unit of Airbus and Member of the Executive Committee of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV. He was appointed Chief Operating Officer - Customers in July 2005, continuing his responsibilities as Chief Commercial Officer of Airbus, a role he held since August 1994. Mr. Leahy is Member of both the Group and the Airbus Executive Committees. In March 2012, he received one of France’s top civilian awards by being named an Officer of the Legion d'Honneur, for his services to European and French aviation. Mr. Leahy worked for seven years in marketing at Piper Aircraft before joining Airbus North America in January 1985. He became Head of Sales in 1988 and then became President of Airbus North America, where his responsibilities included sales and marketing, as well as sales finance and contracts activities for the important American and Canadian markets. Mr. Leahy has Masters of Business Administration from Syracuse University with concentration in both Finance and Transportation Management and a Bachelor of Arts from Fordham University with a dual major in Communications and Philosophy. He is also a licensed multi-engine commercial pilot and a former flight instructor with more than 3,700 hours of flying time. |

Mr. Sean O'Keefe is Chief Executive Officer of EADS North America and Member of the Executive Committee at European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV as of 2010. He was a former Secretary of the Navy, Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Comptroller and Chief Financial Officer of the Department of Defense, Deputy Assistant to the President, and Deputy Director of the Office of Management and Budget. Domingo Urena-Raso |
Mr. Domingo Urena-Raso is Head of Airbus Military, Chairman of EADS CASA and Member of the Executive Committee of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV as of February 2, 2009. He started as an engineer at CASA in Spain in 1982 (now EADS-CASA) in the Cadiz plant, undertaking various assignments. In 1989, he moved to Toulouse where he took on different positions, mainly in procurement, as responsible for nacelles and propulsion systems. In 1998, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aircelle’s joint venture between Airbus and SNECMA. In 2002 he was nominated President and CEO of a privatized defense company in Poland, EADS PZL. In this position he reported directly to the CEO of EADS-CASA. From 2003 to 2005, still in detachment from EADS-CASA, he moved to Munich, Germany, in different functions (Head of Procurement and Member of the Board for the Eurofighter program, then in the EADS Defence division). In 2006 he rejoined Airbus in Toulouse as Head of the new Airbus Industrial Strategy team, defining the Airbus’ future Core/non-Core definition at aircraft level, the supply chain consolidation strategy and the Make-or-Buy policy for future programs, such as the A350 XWB, and work-share definitions. Before assuming his present duties, he had been in charge in 2007 of the vital Airbus turn around program (Power 8), reporting to Fabrice Brégier, Chief Operating Officer of Airbus, and the “Future EADS” program, reporting to Louis Gallois, then-President and CEO of the Company. He graduated from the Polytechnic University of Madrid with a degree in Technical Aeronautical Engineering in 1982 before obtaining a Masters of Business Administration in 1989. He obtained a diploma in Business Management by the ESSEC of Paris in 1998. |
Manfred Bischoff |
Dr. Manfred Bischoff has been a Director of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV since March 27, 2013. He holds a diploma and PhD in Economics from the University of Heidelberg. Having joined Daimler-Benz AG in 1976, Mr. Bischoff became Chief Financial Officer of Mercedes-Benz do Brasil in 1988. In 1989, he was appointed to the Board of Management of Deutsche Aerospace (later DaimlerChrysler Aerospace AG) as CFO and in 1995 became Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler-Benz Aerospace (later Daimler Chrysler Aerospace AG) and a Member of the Board of Management of Daimler-Benz AG. At the foundation of EADS in 2000, Mr. Bischoff became its Chairman, a position he held until April 2007, when he was elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DaimlerChrysler AG. Mr. Ralph D. Crosby Jr. has been a Director of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV since March 27, 2013. He was Member of the Executive Committee of EADS from 2009 - 2012 and served as Chairman and CEO of EADS North America from 2002 - 2009. He presently serves as an Independent Director of American Electric Power headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, where he chairs the Human Resources Committee; Ducommun Corporation, headquartered in Los Angeles, where he chairs the Compensation Committee; and Serco, headquartered in London, United Kingdom. Furthermore, Mr. Crosby serves on the Board of Directors, and Executive Committee of the Atlantic Council of the United States. Prior to joining EADS, Mr. Crosby was an Executive with Northrop Grumman Corporation, where he had served as a Member of the Corporate Policy Council with positions including President of the Integrated Systems Sector, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Commercial Aircraft Division and Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the B-2 Division. Prior to his industry career, Mr. Crosby served as an officer in the United States Army, where his last military assignment was as military staff assistant to the Vice President of the United States. Mr Crosby is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, and holds Master’s degrees from Harvard University, and the University of Geneva, Switzerland. He is the recipient of the James Forrestal Award from the National Defense Industrial Association, and has been awarded Chevalier of the Legion d’Honneur of France. |
Josep Pique i Camps |
Mr. Josep Pique i Camps has been Director of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV since May 31, 2012. He is a Member of the Company's Audit Committee. He has been the Non-Executive Chairman of Vueling since 2007. He started his career as economist of the studies service "la Caixa" and became Director General of the Catalan Industry in 1986. Two years later, he joined the company Ercros, where he eventually became CEO and Chairman. After serving several years within the Circle of Economics of Barcelona, he led it as Chairman (1995-96). Then, Mr Pique was successively appointed Minister for Industry and Energy (1996-2000), government Spokesperson (1998-2000), Minister of Foreign Affairs (2000-2002) and Minister of Science and Technology (2002-2003). Thereafter, he served as Deputy, Senator and President of the Popular Party of Catalonia (2003-2007). Mr. Pique holds a Doctorate in Philosophy in Economic and Business studies and is a Law graduate from the University of Barcelona in which he also is a Lecturer of economic theory. Mr. Jean-Claude Trichet has been Director of European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV since May 31, 2012. He is a Member of the Company's Nominating and Remuneration Committee. He was the President of the European Central Bank, President of the European Systemic Risk Board and President of the Global Economy meeting of Central Bank Governors in Basel until the end of 2011. Previously, he was in charge of the French Treasury for six years and was governor of Banque de France for ten years. Earlier in his career, he held positions within the French Inspection Generale des Finances, as well as the Treasury department, and was advisor of the President of the Republic for microeconomics, energy, industry and research (1978-81). Mr Trichet graduated from the Ecole des Mines de Nancy, the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and the University of Paris in economics. He is a doctor honoris causa from several universities and an alumnus of the Ecole Nationale d'Administration. Mr. Hans-Peter Keitel has been an Independent Director at European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company EADS NV since March 27, 2013. He is a Member of the Company's Nominating and Remuneration Committee. He served as President of the Federation of German Industry (BDI) from 2009 to 2012 and now (since 2013) serves as one of its Vice Presidents. Prior to this he served nearly 20 years at Hochtief – first as Director for International Business and subsequently from 1992 to 2007 as Chief Executive Officer. He started his career in 1975 at Lahmeyer International as a technical advisor and project manager being involved in global infrastructure projects in over 20 countries. She is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Superieure and the French National School of Mining Engineers. She holds an advanced degree in Physics & Chemistry. Ms. Lauvergeon was CEO of Areva from July 2001 to June 2011, and Chairman and CEO of Areva NC from June 1999 to July 2011. In 1997, she worked at Alcatel as Senior Executive Vice President, member of the Executive Committee, in charge of international business and industrial holdings. From 1995 to 1997 she was Partner of Lazard Freres & Cie.
