James Tu |
Mr. James Tu has been appointed as Executive Chairman of the Board, Principal Executive Officer of Energy Focus, Inc., effective April 30, 2013. Mr. Tu is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of 5 Elements Global Advisors, an investment advisory and management company managing the holdings of 5 Elements Global Fund LP, a beneficial owner of more than five percent (5%) of the Company’s Common Stock, and 5 Elements Energy Efficiency Ltd, a beneficial owner of more than ten percent (10%) of the Company’s Common Stock. 5 Elements Global Advisors focuses on investing in clean energy companies with breakthrough, commercialized technologies and near-term profitability potential. He is also Co-Founder of Communal International Ltd. “(Communal”), a British Virgin Islands Company dedicated to assisting clean energy solutions companies maximize their technology and product potential, and gain access to global marketing, distribution licensing, manufacturing and financing resources. Previously he was the Director of Investment Management of Gerstein Fisher & Associates, and an equity analyst at Dolphin Asset Management Corp. Mr. Tu holds a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Tsing-Hua University in Taiwan, and a master of business administration from Baruch College in New York. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst. |
Eric Hilliard |
Mr. Eric W. Hilliard is President, Chief Operating Officer of Energy Focus, Inc. He was appointed as acting Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of the Company on March 3, 2011. Mr. Hilliard has been employed by the Company since November 13, 2006 as the Company's Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Energy Focus, Mr. Hilliard served as a Business Manager at Saint Gobain’s Aerospace Flight Structures Division from 2002 to 2006, overseeing the global sales and operation for composite flight structure components to customers such as Embraer, Gulfstream, and EADS. Other career assignments include Goodrich Aerospace, Chemical Leaman, and the HJ Heinz Company serving in operational and international roles throughout his career. |

Mr. Mark J. Plush is Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Energy Focus Inc. Mr. Plush brings over 28 years of financial management experience with Keithley Instruments, the last twelve years as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to his role as CFO for Keithley Instruments, Mr. Plush served as Corporate Controller for sixteen years. |

Mr. Roger F. Buelow is Chief Technology Officer, Vice President of Energy Focus, Inc. He served as the Vice President of Engineering from February, 2003 to July, 2005. Mr. John M. Davenport is Director of Energy Focus Inc. He served as President of the Company. He joined the Company in November 1999 as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer and was appointed Chief Operating Officer from July 2003 to July 2005, and as Chief Executive Officer from July 2005 until May 2008, at which time he was appointed President of the Company. Prior to joining Energy Focus, Mr. Davenport served as President of Unison Fiber Optic Lighting Systems, LLC, from 1998 to 1999. Mr. Davenport began his career at GE Lighting in 1972 as a research physicist and thereafter served 25 years in various capacities including GE Lighting’s research and development manager and as development manager for high performance LED projects. |
Joseph Kaveski |
Mr. Joseph G. Kaveski is Director of Energy Focus Inc. He served as Chief Executive Officer of the Company. He joined the Company in April 2008 as Vice President for Business Development and Global Marketing. On May 6, 2008 the Company’s Board of Directors appointed him as Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Energy Focus, Mr. Kaveski led his own strategic engineering consulting business, TGL Company. As a consultant, he worked with Energy Focus on strategic planning initiatives from September 2007 to April 2008. From November 2004 through February 2006, Mr. Kaveski was Vice President of Energy Management Services and Strategic Projects and a member of the senior management team at Johnson Controls, Inc., in automotive experience, building efficiency and power solutions. |
J.James Finnerty |
Mr. J. James Finnerty is Independent Director of Energy Focus Inc. Mr. Finnerty is a retired Financial Services executive having served most recently as a Managing Director of European-American Equities, a New York City-based investment bank, from June 2009 to June 2011. Mr. Finnerty’s career spanned more than 35 years in the institutional money management community and included positions at Bank Boston, Kidder Peabody, Hambrecht and Quist, Deutsche Bank, Merriman, Curhan, and Ford, and the American Institute for Economic Research. Mr. Finnerty has a Master’s in Business Administration from Cornell University’s Johnson School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Psychology from Boston College. Mr. Finnerty is NASD Series 7 and 63 licensed. |
R. Louis Schneeberger |
Mr. R. Louis Schneeberger is Independent Director of Energy Focus, Inc. Mr. Schneeberger is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Panther Expedited Services, Inc. Mr. Schneeberger has been an owner, shareholder, and Chief Financial Officer of Olympic Steel, Inc. He has also served as Chairman of the Board of Royal Appliance Manufacturing Company, Inc. and Chief Financial Officer of OM Group, Inc. Mr. Schneeberger has also assisted many other companies such as Libra Industries, Inc., Austin Powder Company, Peco II, Inc. and Knowledge Investment Partners as a board member or consultant. Mr. Schneeberger began his career with Arthur Andersen, LLP where his tenure spanned ten years with a focus on Mergers and Acquisitions and SEC matters. |
