Name Description

Peter McMahon

Mr. Peter McMahon serves as Chairman of the Board of Energy Resources of Australia Ltd since January 2013. He was appointed as Non-Executive Director on November 20, 2012. He is a Member of the Audit and Risk Committee and Remuneration Committee of the Company. He has been the principal of independent advisory business, McMahon Advisory Pty Ltd, since 2010. Prior to this time, Mr. McMahon spent 30 years with the Rio Tinto Group in senior commercial roles with emphasis on business and project development in Australia, United Kingdom, United States and Europe. Mr. McMahon holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from Monash University, Master of Economics from Australian National University and Master of Science (Management), Stanford University, Graduate School of Business. Mr. McMahon was a non-executive Director and Chairman of Inova Resources Limited until November 2013.

Andrea Sutton

Ms. Andrea Sutton is Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director and Director of Energy Resources of Australia Ltd effective September 23, 2013. She brings operational, technical and corporate experience to ERA from her 19 years with Rio Tinto. Ms. Sutton is currently Managing Director with the Rio Tinto Support Strategy Review team. Prior to that, Ms. Sutton held various roles within the Rio Tinto Group including General Manager Operations at the Bengalla Mine and General Manager Infrastructure with Rio Tinto Iron Ore.

James May

Alan Tietzel

Mr. Alan Tietzel is Chief Advisor Agreements of Energy Resources of Australia Ltd. He was appointed as General Manager External Relations in July 2010 and subsequently Chief Advisor Agreements in September 2012. He has a background in Aboriginal land agreements, regional development, government relations, human resources and organization development. Mr. Tietzel joined Rio Tinto in 1990. He has worked in the diamonds, salt, bauxite and alumina sectors, and in various corporate functions.

Joanne Farrell

Ms. Joanne Farrell has been appointed as Non-Executive Director of Energy Resources of Australia Ltd., with effect from 11 June 2014. Ms Farrell is currently the Global Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Communities (HSEC) for Rio Tinto and is responsible for leading the team that provides policy, standards guidance and governance of HSEC matters for the Rio Tinto group of companies. Ms. Farrell has held a number of roles in 27 years with Rio Tinto, including in the Iron Ore, Aluminium, Diamonds, Exploration and Energy groups. She brings extensive experience in HSEC, human resources, organisational effectiveness, communications and external relations. Ms. Farrell is a Director of the Western Australia State Training Board and the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) and an Advisory Council member for Central Institute of Technology. She is also a member of the Sustainability Committee of the Minerals Council of Australia and a member of Chief Executive Women. Ms. Farrell holds a bachelors degree in Science from University of Western Australia and a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Curtin University of Technology.

Peter Taylor

Mr. Peter Robert Taylor serves as Non-Executive Director of Energy Resources of Australia Ltd since February 14, 2007. Mr. Taylor is a lawyer in private practice before joining Rio Tinto, Mr. Taylor has held a number of executive and management positions in the exploration, project development, commercial and legal operations of the Rio Tinto Group. Mr. Taylor has served as Managing Director and Chairman of Bougainville Copper Limited since October 21, 2003, having been a Director since April 1997. Mr. Taylor is also a director of a number of unlisted Rio Tinto Group companies. He holds Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Law, Master of Law and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Helen Garnett

Dr. Helen M. Garnett, Ph.D., serves as Independent Non-Executive Director of Energy Resources of Australia Ltd since January 28, 2005. She is the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee and member of Remuneration Committee. From October 2003 to 31 December 2008, Dr. Garnett was Vice Chancellor of Charles Darwin University in the Northern Territory. Between 1994 and 2003, Dr. Garnett served as the Executive Director of the Australian Nuclear Science & Technology Organisation (ANSTO) and as an Australian representative to the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency. Dr. Garnett is an Emeritus Professor of the University of Wollongong and of Charles Darwin University, a Fellow of the Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Dr. Garnett is currently the Chair of Delta Electricity, a non-executive Director of Carbon Energy Limited, Director of the Australian Centre for Plant Functional Genomics, Director of the Grape and Wine Research and Development Corporation and Director of the Museum and Art Gallery, NT Foundation. She holds Bachelor of Science and a Doctorate in Philosophy. She is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

John Pegler

Mr. John Harry Pegler serves as Non-Executive Independent Director of Energy Resources of Australia Ltd since July 30, 2009. Mr. Pegler is Member of the Audit and Risk Committee and Chair of Remuneration Committee. Mr. Pegler is also a non-executive Director and Chairman of Bandanna Energy Limited and non-executive Director of WDS Ltd and CS Energy Limited.
