Name Description
Mussallem, Michael Mr. Mussallem has been chairman of the Board and the Chief Executive Officer of Edwards Lifesciences Corporation since 2000. Prior to 2000, he held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility in engineering, product development and senior management at Baxter International Inc. Mr. Mussallem received his Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and was conferred an honorary doctorate by his alma mater in 1999. Mr. Mussallem is a director, and former chairman, of the California Healthcare Institute, a director of the OCTANe Foundation for Innovation and chairman of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed).
Abate, Thomas Mr. Abate has been the Corporate Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Edwards Lifesciences Corporation since January 2006. He has served in positions of increasing responsibility at the Company, including as Controller from 2000 to 2002, and as Corporate Vice President, Financial Control and Operations, from 2002 through 2005. Mr. Abate earned a bachelors degree in accounting from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Northern Illinois University.
