John Crowley |
Mr. John F. Crowley is Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer of Amicus Therapeutics Inc. He has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since February 2010 and Chief Executive Officer since January 2005, except for the period from April 2011 through August 2011 during which time he served as Executive Chairman. John's involvement with biotechnology stems from the 1998 diagnosis of two of his children with Pompe disease-a severe and often fatal neuromuscular disorder. In his drive to find a cure for them, he left his position at Bristol-Myers Squibb and became an entrepreneur as the co-founder, president and CEO of Novazyme Pharmaceuticals, a biotech start-up conducting research on a new experimental treatment for Pompe disease (which he credits as ultimately saving his children's lives.) In 2001, Novazyme merged into Genzyme Corporation and John continued to play a lead role in the development of a drug for Pompe disease as Senior Vice President, Genzyme Therapeutics. John is also a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve, assigned to the United States Special Operations Command and is a veteran of the global war on terrorism, with service in Afghanistan. He graduated with a B.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University, and earned a J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School and an M.B.A. from Harvard. The Crowley family was the recipient of the 2011 Family Exemplar Award from the University of Notre Dame. John is a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute. |

Mr. William D. Baird, III, is Chief Financial Officer of Amicus Therapeutics, Inc. Prior to joining Amicus, Mr. Baird served as Chief Financial Officer of PTC Therapeutics, Inc. ("PTC") from April 2005 until April 2012. Before that, he held various positions of increasing responsibility with PTC from 2002 to 2005. Mr. Baird previously worked at L.E.K. Ms. Joan C. Winterbottom is Senior Vice President - Human Resources of Amicus Therapeutics, Inc since August 2012 as Senior Vice President, Human Resources. She brings over 20 years experience in human resources, organization development and communications in a broad range of industries and organization size. Most recently she was Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Savient Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Ms. Winterbottom was responsible for building Savient’s commercial organization and shaped a high performance culture through performance management, compensation, and learning and development programs. Previously she held a variety of human resources leadership roles at Johnson & Johnson (J&J) for over 10 years, most recently as Vice President of Human Resources for the Global Over-the-Counter/Nutritionals/Wellness and Prevention global business unit. During her time at J&J, she also served as Vice President of Human Resources for McNeil Consumer Healthcare; World Wide Director, Head of Human Resources for Biologics, Immunology, and Oncology Research & Development; and Director, Head of Human Resources and Communications for J&J Pharmaceutical Global Clinical Operations, among others. Prior to J&J, Ms. Winterbottom worked in banking, credit card and insurance organizations. David Lockhart |
Dr. David J. Lockhart, Ph.D., is Chief Scientific Officer of Amicus Therapeutics, Inc. He joined Amicus Therapeutics in January, 2006, as chief scientific officer. He brings to Amicus more than 15 years of industry experience and achievements including credit as the primary inventor and developer of genome-wide gene expression profiling with high-density DNA arrays when he was at Affymetrix. Before coming to Amicus, Dr. Lockhart was president, CSO and co-founder of Ambit Biosciences in San Diego. He served as director of genomics at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation, and held various leadership positions during his more than five years at Affymetrix, including vice president of genomics research. Dr. Lockhart was also a visiting scholar at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. Dr. Lockhart received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Stanford University (Professor Steven G. Boxer), and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Whitehead Institute in the Biology Department at MIT with Professor Peter S. Kim. He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed scientific articles on pharmacological chaperones, genomics, kinase technology, kinase inhibitor discovery, and the use of genomic tools to address important biological and biomedical problems. |

Dr. Enrique Dilone, Ph.D., RAC., is Vice President - Technical Operations of Amicus Therapeutics Inc. From August 2009 to January 2011, he served as Senior Director, Quality Control and Analytical Chemistry. Prior to joining Amicus, Dr. Diloné served as Executive Director of Quality and Analytics at NovaDel Pharma, a specialty pharmaceutical company developing oral spray formulations, from February 2007 to August 2009. Dr. Diloné served as Senior Director/Director of Analytical Operations at OSI/Eyetech Pharmaceuticals from February 2002 to December 2006. Dr. James Barrett, Ph.D., is Independent Director of Amicus Therapeutics Inc. Dr. Barrett currently serves as General Partner of New Enterprise Associates (NEA), where he specializes in biotechnology and works with members of NEA's healthcare investment group on medical devices, healthcare information systems and healthcare services companies. Prior to joining NEA in 2001, Dr. Barrett served as Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Sensors for Medicine and Science (1997 - 2001) where he remains Chairman. Prior to that, he led three NEA-funded companies, serving as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Genetic Therapy, Inc. Robert Essner |
Mr. Robert Essner has been appointed as Independent Director of Amicus Therapeutics, Inc., effective June 20, 2012. Mr. Essner is Senior Advisor to the global healthcare group at The Carlyle Group, a global private equity firm. Mr. Essner retired as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wyeth, now part of Pfizer, in 2008. During his 32-year career in the pharmaceutical industry, he held several prominent leadership positions, including Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association (PhRMA). Prior to Wyeth, Mr. Essner spent more than a decade in various management positions at Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Corporation and as President of Sandoz Consumer Healthcare Group. Mr. Essner is currently a Director at MassMutual Financial Group; NBTY, Inc., a nutritional supplement company; and Pharmaceutical Product Development, LLC (PPD), a contract research organization. In addition, he is a trustee of the Children's Health Fund and Mote Marine Laboratories. Mr. Essner is also an Executive-in-Residence and Adjunct Professor at Columbia Business School, where he teaches courses in healthcare management. Dr. Ted W. Love, M.D. has been appointed as Independent Director of Amicus Therapeutics, Inc., effective June 13, 2012. Dr. Love is currently Executive Vice President and Head of Research and Development and Technical Operations at Onyx Pharmaceuticals. He has overseen Onyx's first new drug application (NDA) submission, as well as the launch and execution of two global Phase 3 studies. From 2001 to 2009 Dr. Love served as Chief Executive Officer of Nuvelo, Inc., and served as Chairman and CEO from 2005 to 2009.
