Name Description

Edward Horowitz

 Mr. Edward D. Horowitz serves as Independent Chairman of the Board of Fairpoint Communications Inc. He serves as as the chairman of EdsLink LLC, a New York City based venture capital firm, which he founded in 2000. Mr. Horowitz served as president and chief executive officer of SES–Americom, a communications satellite operator, and as a member of the executive committee of its parent company, SES (SESG, Lux.) from 2005 to 2008. Before founding EdsLink LLC, Mr. Horowitz was executive vice president of Advanced Development at Citigroup from 1997 through 2000 and was the founder and chairman of e-Citi. Prior to joining Citigroup, from 1989 to 1997, Mr. Horowitz was a senior vice president of Viacom Inc. and a member of the operating committee. Mr. Horowitz serves as a director of On Line Resources Corporation (NASDAQ: ORCC) and the Kenan Institute of Ethics at Duke University and is a trustee of the New York Hall of Science. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the City College of New York and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Columbia University School of Business.

Paul Sunu

 Mr. Paul H. Sunu is Chief Executive Officer and Director of FairPoint Communications Inc., since August 24, 2010. He was chief financial officer of Hargray Communications Group, Inc., a position he had held since 2008. Mr. Sunu was chief financial officer of Hawaiian Telcom Communications, Inc. from 2007 to 2008 and a managing director and chief financial officer of Madison River Communications Corp. from 1996 to 2007.  Mr. Ajay Sabherwal is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of FairPoint Communications Inc., since July 19, 2010. Mr. Sabherwal served as Chief Financial Officer for Mendel Biotechnology from 2009 to 2010, Chief Financial Officer for Aventine Renewable Energy from 2005 to 2009 and Executive Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Choice One Communications from 1999 to 2005. Mr. Sabherwal holds a BE in Mechanical Engineering and an MS in Economics from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science in Pilani, India and an MBA from the Manchester Business School in Manchester, UK.

Rosemary Hauser

 Ms. Rosemary M. Hauser serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer of FairPoint Communications Inc. She has been appointed as Executive Vice President of the Company, effective June 7, 2012. She joined FairPoint last year, is responsible for defining and executing information technology initiatives across the company to meet the needs of the business including operations, software development and delivery and strategy for the information technology and internal business solutions departments. She is an information technology and telecommunications professional with more than 20 years of experience; and previously served as senior vice president and chief information officer for Hawaiian Telecom. Hauser has also held executive positions at Freddie Mac, MCI, XO Communications and Bell Atlantic. She began her career at Wang Laboratories, Inc. Hauser earned a master's degree in finance and a bachelor's degree in accounting from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Shirley Linn

 Ms. Shirley J. Linn is Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of FairPoint Communications Inc., since March 2006. Previously, Ms. Linn served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary from September 2004 to March 2006. Prior thereto, Ms. Linn served as General Counsel since October 2000, Vice President since October 2000, and Secretary since December 2000. Prior to joining the company, Ms. Linn was in the private practice of law in Charlotte, North Carolina and New York City, in each case where she specialized in general business matters, particularly mergers and acquisitions.

Gregory Castle

 Mr. Gregory W. Castle has been appointed as Executive Vice President - Human Resources of FairPoint Communications Inc., effective June 6, 2012. Castle has more than 25 years of experience managing employee and labor relations at small, medium-sized and Fortune 500 companies. Prior to joining FairPoint, he was president of Castle & Associates for seven years, during which time his clients included U.S. Cellular, R.H. Donnelley, The Carlyle Group and McKinsey and Co. He holds a Ph.D. and a master's degree from Northwestern University in educational management, human resources and industrial relations. Castle also holds a juris doctorate with concentrations in employment law, human resources and labor relations from Loyola University School of Law and earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Western Illinois University. He is a licensed attorney concentrating on employment law, human resources and labor relations, and is a certified Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR).

Kenneth Amburn

 Mr. Kenneth W. Amburn serves as Executive Vice President - Operations and Engineering of Fairpoint Communications Inc., since October 2010. Mr. Amburn served as Chief Operating Officer for Madison River Communications from September 2000 to April 2007 and as Vice President of Operations for Madison River Communications from May 1998 to August 2000. Previously, Mr. Amburn served as Vice President for Network Construction Services from September 1995 to April 1998. He also served as Vice President, East Region for Citizens Utilities from July 1993 to August 1995, Sprint/Centel Texas from January 1993 to June 1993 and Centel Texas from January 1985 to December 1992.

Peter Nixon

 Mr. Peter G. Nixon is Executive Vice President - External Affairs and Operational Support of FairPoint Communications Inc. In July 2011, Mr. Nixon assumed this role. Previously, since July 2007, Mr. Nixon served as President. Prior to July 2007, Mr. Nixon had served as Chief Operating Officer since November 2002. Previously, Mr. Nixon was Senior Vice President of Corporate Development from February 2002 to November 2002 and President of Telecom Group from April 2001 to February 2002. Prior to this, Mr. Nixon served as President of Eastern Region Telecom Group from June 1999 to April 2001 and President of Chautauqua and Erie Telephone Corporation, from July 1997, when the company acquired C&E, to June 1999. From April 1989 to June 1997, Mr. Nixon served as Executive Vice President of C&E. From April 1978 to March 1989, Mr. Nixon served as Vice President of Operations for C&E. Mr. Nixon has served as the past Chairman of the New York State Telecommunications Association from June 1996 to June 1998.

Tony Tomae

 Mr. Tony Tomae has been appointed as Executive Vice President, Chief Revenue Officer of FairPoint Communications Inc., effective April 23, 2012. Tony's experience in sales and marketing spans 22 years, including positions with Deltacom where he served as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing and WilTel Communications where he was Senior Vice President of Marketing. He has also held positions with AT&T and Broadwing Communications. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, N.J.

Barbara Dondiego

 Ms. Barbara M. Dondiego has been appointed as Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer of FairPoint Communications, Inc., effective 24 September 2012. Dondiego is a telecom veteran and most recently served as senior vice president and chief marketing officer of EarthLink. She will report to Tony Tomae, executive vice president and chief revenue officer, and be responsible for all aspects of FairPoint's marketing functions, including product management, marketing communications, brand management and segment marketing. Dondiego leaves EarthLink after three years; prior to that, she served as senior vice president of marketing at Level 3 Communications. She also was marketing director at WilTel, acquired by Level 3, and director of product management for McLeodUSA, now part of Windstream. Dondiego has an MBA from the University of Tulsa and a bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C.

John Hogshire

 Mr. John T. Hogshire is Vice President, Controller of FairPoint Communications Inc., since September 2010. Mr. Hogshire previously served as the Director of Accounting for Aviat Networks (f/k/a Harris Stratex Networks) from July 2008 to September 2010, as a Consultant with Aviat Networks from January 2008 to July 2008 and as Vice President—Controller of Madison River Communications from December 1998 to July 2007. Mr. Hogshire received a B.A. with a concentration in accounting from North Carolina Wesleyan College and is a certified public accountant.

Dennis Austin

 Mr. Dennis J. Austin serves as Independent Director of Fairpoint Communications Inc. He has served as an independent telecommunications consultant since 2002. Mr. Austin previously served as a consultant at BearingPoint, formerly KPMG Consulting and formerly KPMG LLP, from 1995 to 2002, and as vice president at San Francisco Consulting Group (“SFCG”) from 1985 to 1995. Prior to joining SFCG, Mr. Austin was vice president of engineering with Dataspeed Inc. from 1983 to 1985 and director of switch engineering, network planning and design at GTE Sprint from 1977 to 1983. Prior to joining GTE Sprint, Mr. Austin served as a member of the technical staff with Bell Telephone Laboratories from 1966 to 1977. Mr. Austin holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University.

Peter Gingold

 Mr. Peter C. Gingold has been appointed as Independent Director of FairPoint Communications, Inc., with effect from June 25, 2012. Mr. Gingold is a director at Angelo, Gordon & Co., which he joined in 2007, focusing in distressed and leverage credit. Prior to joining Angelo, Gordon & Co., Mr. Gingold’s background includes management experience across several operational roles, positions as an investment banker, and functions related to corporate development and strategy.  Mr. Michael J. Mahoney serves as Independent Director of Fairpoint Communications Inc. He served as president and chief executive officer of Commonwealth Telephone Enterprises, Inc. Prior to joining Commonwealth Telephone, Mr. Mahoney served as president and chief operating officer of RCN Corporation from 1997 to 2000 and as president and chief operating officer of C-TEC Corporation from 1993 to 1997. Michael Robinson

 Mr. Michael K. Robinson serves as Independent Director of Fairpoint Communications Inc. He has served as president and chief executive officer since 2005, and as a director since 2009, of Broadview Networks. Mr. Robinson previously served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of US LEC (which is now part of Windstream Corporation) from 1998 to 2005. Prior to 1998, Mr. Robinson spent 10 years as an executive at Alcatel (now Alcatel Lucent). Mr. Robinson also serves as a director of Lumos Networks Corp. (NASDAQ: LMOS). Mr. Treadwell was EaglePicher Incorporated’s chief operating officer from 2005 to 2006 and served as chief executive officer of Oxford Automotive, Inc. through its restructuring in 2004 to 2005. Mr. Treadwell currently serves as lead director of Flagstar Bancorp. Inc. (NYSE: FBC) and chairman of the board of C&D Technologies, Inc. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Wayne Wilson

 Mr. Wayne Wilson serves as Independent Director of Fairpoint Communications Inc. He has been an independent business advisor since 2002. From 1995 to 2002, Mr. Wilson served in various roles as president, chief operating officer and chief financial officer of PC Connection, Inc., a Fortune 1000 direct marketer of information technology products and services.
